Waco, Texas was kind enough to invite Chris Wallis and I back up for a request piano show tonight. We played lots of tunes, as we always do, and the crowd brought us up some crazy ones tonight. A couple of bachelorettes rounded out the evening, and we finished up at 12:30am before driving back home to San Marcos.

AJ's Ale House 9/26/14
Jeff Botta and I performed to a wild bunch tonight in New Braunfels. Seems like every time I started a song, someone new was onstage dancing to it! My favorite request this evening was one I have never gotten before. "Take Me Home" by Phil Collins was requested, twice, and then we played it like we had played it a hundred times before. Solid!

Taxi's Piano Bar 9/20/14
Hoooowheeeee! My arms are tired. Yesterday saw me perform 5 hours of piano, and today was over 6 hours. Thank goodness for awesome crowd energy and the excellent drumming of Mr. Chris Wallis. We rounded out our evening with an all-request show in San Marcos, full of birthdays and dancing. We had fans, friends, band mates, and new people all hanging out with us. Thanks you to everyone I saw this weekend at all my different shows!
Tantra Coffeehouse 9/20/14
DanHolmesGroup made a triumphant return this evening in San Marcos! The great Chris Wallis (drums) and multi-instrumentalist Kevin Humphry (bass) joined me at 6p to perform a couple hours of our original tunes and covers we enjoy before The Hill Country Gentlemen took the stage at 8p. Chris relinquished his drumming to Clay, Kevin switched from bass to guitar, Jeremiah picked up the bass and Troy lead us with his voice and acoustic for a couple hours of Americana! It was a really fun time with two bands on a beautiful night!

Taxi's Piano Bar 9/19/14
It was a solid night of music for me tonight! I started the night in San Antonio at the Hard Rock Café, and ended the night in San Marcos at Taxi's, with Taxi on drums. Girls doing inappropriate things to my back, Boy George comparisons, Jell-O shot mishaps by birthday girls, yes, tonight had it all! I had fun performing with Taxi, and I'll return tomorrow night (after two gigs in the early evening).
Hard Rock Cafe 9/19/14
Tommy flew in from Chicago to play a Howl2Go show with me in San Antonio at the world-famous Hard Rock Café for the NAB Market Exchange event. The people were so nice to us! They brought us lots of good requests, they danced and sang, and really enjoyed themselves. Mixed in with all the random requests was "How Much Is That Doggy In The Window" which became a running joke for us by putting the doggie in every other song. We played from 7:30p-9:30p, and then I quickly headed out to San Marcos for my second gig of the evening, which started at 10:30p. Tommy was a pleasure to work with, and I hope to do some more shows with him soon!

AJ's Ale House 9/18/14
It was raining when I started my show in New Braunfels tonight, so naturally, there were lots of "rain" requests. "No Rain", "Have You Ever Seen The Rain", "Purple Rain", and "I Can See Clearly Now" were but a few of the many songs the evening began with. As the night rolled on, the show settled into a fun groove, and I had a good time playing all the random requests.

Cheatham Street Warehouse 9/14/14
The Sadie Hawkins "Pilgrims and Indians" dance at Cheatham Street Warehouse in San Marcos, Texas was a lot of fun tonight! Victor Holk started off the night with a set, then I took the stage with The Hill Country Gentlemen, and we were followed by the Shady Rest Band. I had my face painted (and so did Jeremiah) so I'd fit in a little better with the theme. Lotsa good music tonight!

AJ's Ale House 9/13/14
Man, oh, man! Big time fun in New Braunfels, Texas tonight with the legendary Chris Wallis (drums). The place was packed all night with dancers and party goers. We had an endless stream of requests, and things just kept ramping up all the way until our encore! I must say, Corinne, Shauna, Mel, and all the wait staff did a great job keeping everyone hydrated tonight, which made our job even easier!

Tyler Junior College 9/12/14
Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas hired Howl At The Moon's Howl 2 Go show for their parent/student welcome night. I drove a little over four hours to play a fun-filled hour and a half with Houston's own Craig Stahl, on the opposite piano. Craig sounded fantastic, and my favorite part of the night was when he began to sing a ballad, I encouraged everyone in the crowd to light up their cell phones, at which point one of the staff members at the college began to shut off all the lights! It was a fun show, and I enjoyed working with Craig!
AJ's Ale House 9/11/14
New Braunfels, Texas was kinda slow tonight. Not many people were anywhere downtown. I had a few folks in who were happy to give me interesting requests like John Lennon's "Watching The Wheels" and Ritchie Valens' "Oh, Donna" to name a couple. I like it when they ask me to stretch out and do songs like this which I've never tried.

Reveille Peak Ranch 9/6/14
The Hill Country Gentlemen played a three-hour show at the finish line of Captain Karl's Trail Race in Burnet, Texas, tonight! We had a great time, although it was pouring down rain. I felt bad for the runners (including my wife, Christine) who were out in the elements for all the different length races (10k, 30k, & 60k). We played as the runners returned and slowly recovered while listening to us. I had a great time, and the Gents sounded fantastic!

AJ's Ale House 9/5/14
I performed in New Braunfels, Texas tonight with the great Chris Wallis on drums to a packed house of fun folks! Lots of requests from all genres were brought to the piano, and dancing could be seen throughout the night. The strangest part of the evening was the dozen or so requests which landed on the piano stapled to money. Stapled. As in, they brought a full-size stapler to the bar to staple requests to money. Hmmm.

AJ's Ale House 7/4/14
Just for fun, I decided to let my TV write tonight's blog post about the fun night I had at AJ's in New Braunfels. Voice to text, activated...now:
"Me for the hangover I did. Yes, we got that bad amazing thing. Don't you all me! I come home when I want to, people thank you. Bible as a preacher? We are permitted our committed to provide them. On today, observational studies a fire station thing on top of that they put on their audience. Release the recharge American village out of it and being addressed to locations to serve you."
The preceding statements were brought to you by late night TV.
