Crafthouse 3/30/17

Brian Carlisle and I played in San Marcos tonight. We took requests from the crowd, which included a "Don't Stop Believin'" and "Single Ladies" mash up remix, and a whole bunch of Beatles rarities. It was a slow evening on the square, but I still had a good time with the crowd we had. I threw Brian tons of curveballs tonight, and he did the appropriate baseball analogy of doing well.

Recording session 3/28/17

I recorded a couple of piano tracks for Jimmy Deveney's newest project. His tunes are cool, and I was happy to oblige when he asked if I'd do some playing on them. I can't wait to hear the finished versions in the future!

Howl At The Moon 3/27/17

It was a weird Monday night crowd in San Antonio. The club was packed, and people were requesting songs, but no one would sing along or even applaud at the end of tunes. Everyone seemed to have a good time, although we were treated sort of like background music. There were a couple of different "drummers" in the crowd who paid the stage fee to get up and play one song with us each. The fella who sat in with me was named Wayne. He wasn't a bad drummer, but he had definitely been having a good time with his friends, so he was a little over active. He wanted to play the Bon Jovi tune "You Give Love A Bad Name", so we did, although, every chorus I sang "you give love... a bad Wayne".

Howl At The Moon 3/26/17

Heather Ray and I joined up with Howl players Michael and Hailey tonight in San Antonio. We had a good show with a good crowd. Downtown San Antonio was packed tonight because they are filming American Ninja Warriors there for the next few days. At one point, I looked up and saw Murr from the TV show "Impractical Jokers" hanging out at the bar. I played "You May Be Right" for him. We had a chance to talk with him for a few minutes on our break. He's a very nice guy!

St. Anthony Hotel 3/25/17

Representing New York, New York Dueling Pianos, Gray Gregson, Chris Wallis and I played in San Antonio for the Pate wedding party. The room was gorgeous, and the people were ready to party. From our first note to our last, folks were on the dance floor. We had a great time with the fun crowd! Chris and Gray sounded great, and I'm looking forward to our next show together. I'm glad we were so well received. Congratulations to newlyweds!

Rockey's Piano Bar 3/24/17

In Round Rock, TX tonight, men took off their shirts and confetti fell from the sky. Mikey Gammon and I were laughing so hard, tears rolled down our cheeks! It was one of those events I won't soon forget. I hope that from this day on, that shirtless man carries confetti with him 24/7.

Howl At The Moon 3/23/17

I found myself in San Antonio again this evening, dueling on the riverwalk. Tommy, Katie, Ryan & I played for a private party before the club opened to the public, which means we were there from 5:30p-1:40a. That's s long day of piano playing!

Bloch Residence 3/21/17

I played today at an afternoon wedding for Colin and Kelly Bloch. They were regulars of my Thursday night show for years in New Braunfels, and they asked me to be a part of their day, so of course I said yes! I took requests from the crowd for a few hours, plus had a few people come up and sing. It was held at their home in Martindale, TX, and they couldn't have picked a better day. The weather was perfect, the food was delicious, and the ceremony was beautiful. Congratulations to my friends!

Linda's Event Center 3/17/17

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I was in my truck by 7am for my eight-hour trip to the pan handle with my buddy, Gray Gregson. We were contracted by New York, New York Dueling Pianos to perform for a fund raiser in Tulia, TX to benefit the local hospital. We played "in the round", meaning the stage was in the middle of the room with the crowd all around us. The show was only supposed to be two-hours long, but they liked us so much, they hired us to play another two hours! After our four-hour show, we packed up our gear and headed a couple hours south to bed-down at a hotel at 4am. Great show!

Moonshine & Ale 3/11/17

Chris Wallis (drums) and I had a great night in New Braunfels. The crowd was generous with their requests tonight, so we played all the big hits, and a few rarities, too! "Mess Around" was my personal favorite tune tonight. We also had lots great dancers which made the night even more fun for us. Chris sounded great, and we made a few connections for some private events after our show. Thanks everyone!

Gourdough's Public House 3/10/17

Heather Ray and I played in Austin tonight, and it was a fun show! We swapped off between drums and piano a few times, and even had a guest drummer come sit in with us at the end of the night. People were in from out of town because this is the beginning of SXSW. I was just glad to play requests like "Sex Machine" and "Let's Stay Together". Heather rocked the crowd on both drums and piano. Lots of people told me how much they enjoyed our show, so I left the gig happy!

Tantra Coffeehouse 3/7/17

I love playing with these fellas. Ian Lee on guitar, Kevin Humphrey on bass & Chris Wallis on drums joined me in San Marcos for an outdoor event on a beautiful evening. We played a couple hours of tunes for our first of our monthly shows at Tantra, "Phat Tuesdays". I did record it, and I'm sure I'll get at least on video together before we perform again there on April 4, 2017! A big thanks to Christine Barton-Holmes for taking photos, and to Eddie Baty for the poster.

Moonshine & Ale 3/3/17

I knew tonight was going to be weird and fun by the first two requests Roger Glenn (drums) and I received. Yep, "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer" by Burl Ives and "Pony" by Ginuwine started off the night which just got stranger as the evening went on. Several birthdays and bachelorettes took the stage during the night, but when the vets came up for "Proud To Be An American", they rightly received a standing ovation from the full club in New Braunfels. And then they all danced to "Brick House". Yep. Weird.

Moonshine Drinkery 3/2/17

I drove to Victoria, Texas tonight, where I met up with Mr Rhythm, Chris Wallis. We took request from the crowd, and played a fun show from 10 PM until midnight. The crowd really packed the place! Thank you to Everett for running the sound, and to everyone for all of the kind words at the end of the night. Chris and I will see you next month!

Evangeline Cafe 2/28/17

Happy Mardi Gras! We had a fantastic show tonight in Austin, TX. Ian Lee on guitar, Kevin Humphry on bass, and Roger Glenn was filling in on drums, and they made the show flow. I love playing with these guys. We had dancers and sold some records, so what more can you ask for? Thank you to Curtis Clarke for including us again this year in the festivities. Also, thank you to Kashi for taking some photos of the band!
