Moonshine & Ale 5/27/18

A rare Sunday evening show took place in New Braunfels, TX, tonight with me & Michael Carrandi. We were there for the Memorial Day weekend festivities, and we took requests from the crowd while swapping between piano and drums every half-hour. Michael is a good guy to work with, and I had fun this evening. Thanks to my wife for taking some pictures for us tonight!

Papa Jack’s 5/26/18

Chris Wallis and I performed in Kyle, TX, together tonight. I was glad that I got to spend both Friday and Saturday with Chris! It was a rare treat! We played several tunes by Queen requested by the crowd, plus a bunch of other songs. This was my first night at Papa Jack’s, and I’d like to thank those who hung out with us.

Moonshine Drinkery 5/25/18

Chris Wallis and I had a good time in Victoria, TX, tonight. The club had all new gear waiting for us, so after a few adjustments, we began our request show. Some very odd songs were given to us to play in between all of the sing-along classics. The favorite of the night was “Walk The Dinosaur” which we had to convince one of the bartenders was a real song.

Moonshine & Ale 5/24/18

Did another night of Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels, TX, tonight with Andrae Blissett, Pancho Garza, and for the first time, Holly Cloyd! Holly was fun to work with, and I’ll share the piano-bar stage with her in a few weeks here. We had a bunch of singers come up and sing with us. I was on bass (via my keytar, while wearing my new “Music Of New Braunfels” Star Wars-themed shirt), and every now and then, I’d roam out into the room to see how it was sounding, and it was good. I was watching the show “Community” on Hulu before the gig, and lost it when one of the characters beat a car with the very same model of keytar I use.

Zydeco’s 5/19/18

These black and white photos were taken by my talented niece at our gig tonight. I love performing at Zydeco’s in Mooresville, IN, with Mark Clark (drums) and Bill Ritter (bass). It gives me a chance to not only play my original music in venue full of appreciative people, but also get to see family, friends, and fans from all over Indiana. My niece and nephew were there with my sister and brother-in-law, and at one point, she borrowed my wife’s phone to take some good shots. A bunch of other people were there, too, and the only downside to playing is that I don’t get to hang out with everyone as much as I’d like to, but we all still found time to photobomb each other! Until next time, goodbye, Indiana! We’re heading back to Texas in the morning.

Zydeco’s 5/18/18

I returned to Mooresville, IN, tonight for a gig with the two great musicians, Bill Ritter (bass) and Mark Clark (drums). I loved seeing all my old friends and fans, and getting a chance to perform a bunch of good music for them. We performed almost every tune from my new album, “Matinee Monster Movies” over the course of the evening. I feel lucky to be able to play music for a living, and I’m glad I get to do it with such talented musicians. Also, another big thanks to Christine Barton-Holmes for taking photos!

Austin Bergstrom International Airport 5/9/18

Performing on the Ray Benson stage at the airport in Austin, TX, with Matt Wilson Band today was fun! His original material has a good singer / songwriter vibe to it. Jimmy, John, and Kevin are solid performers, which makes my job easy playing organ parts for the soloists to play on. I’m just glad I didn’t have to be thoroughly patted down leaving as I was when I arrived. That TSA guy didn’t even offer to buy me a drink!

Jack’s Roadhouse 5/6/18

Jack’s Roadhouse in San Marcos, TX, is where DanHolmesGroup tightened up over the course of a couple years. Today was their last day of music with Floyd and Jamie as the owners, so Kevin Humphry and I played a set as a farewell to them! I always enjoy performing with Kevin. He’s a great guitarist and friend!

Stadia Sports Grill 5/5/18

David Lee, Heather Ray and I performed in Pearland, TX, tonight for Cinco De Mayo! There were a couple hundred people out to see our five-hour long dueling pianos show. The folks were very kind to us as we played all of their requests. A couple birthdays and a lot of dancing later, we hopped in the truck and headed back home, (about 3+ hours away). I know it’s been a long day when I hear birds chirping before I get to bed. It was lots of fun to play with two very talented performers tonight!

Moonshine Drinkery 5/4/18

I wore a rebel helmet and two Star Wars shirts for our “May The Fourth Be With You” gig in Victoria, TX, tonight. Heather wore a “Juan Solo” shirt, and Chris decided he was Han Solo’s lesser known son, Drum Solo. It was a great evening with a couple good friends playing all the random requests people would bring up. Oh, and Star Wars was playing on all the screens throughout the bar all night. Geek heaven!

Moonshine & Ale 5/3/18

I drummed all night for Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels, TX, on a pleasant Thursday evening. Jami McNeill and Pancho Garza were on stage with me as we let audience members come up and sing their songs with us. It was a good night all the way around!

Darwin’s Pub 4/30/18

I played a pick-up show in Austin, TX, tonight (because another player was ill) with drummer Joe Resnick. I always enjoy shows with Joe. We pulled out lots of tunes we’d never played together before. The crowd threw some fun curve balls at us, like Don Williams and Howling Wolf. It wasn’t a busy Monday night because of some rain in the area, but it was very enjoyable!
