Moonshine Drinkery 4/27/19

Tonight was bitter sweet. I’ve been performing in Victoria for about three years now, and tonight marked the end of our residency at Moonshine Drinkery. This bar staff is one of the best around, and I’ve made good friends in Victoria. Our show tonight was top-notch to a packed house. A good friend from Indiana was even in town and got a chance to hang out with my wife to see our final show. I love performing with Heather, and also all of the past shows with Chris Wallis. I will miss my regular treks down to Victoria, but there might be an occasional show still popping up in the area, so I hope to see everyone again very soon! A huge thank you to the staff of Moonshine Drinkery, to the great musicians I get to share the stage with, and to my wife, Christine, for always taking great photos for us. 

Moonshine & Ale 4/26/19

I teamed back up with Dave Lovett tonight in New Braunfels, TX! We haven’t performed together in quite a while, and it was fun just getting a chance to catch up with him a bit again. The air conditioner wasn’t working properly, so the club was warmer than usual, but people still jumped up and danced and had fun with us. 

Moonshine & Ale 4/25/19

I performed at Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels, TX, tonight with Andrae Blissett and Pancho Garza, and almost died laughing. Andrae made a joke while I was drinking some water between songs, and I choked so hard that I think I pulled a muscle in my abdomen. I was in pain the last half of the night, but the singers were good, and the show must go on. Hopefully, I’ll heal quickly! 

Darwin’s Pub 4/22/19

I woke up this morning in Pasadena, CA, got on a plane, landed in Austin, TX, and headed to my gig on 6th street with Roger Glenn on drums. We had a good crowd for a Monday! I met some people from exotic locales like Australia, Portland, OR, and Waco. It was a good show. 

Moonshine Drinkery 4/12/19

With no prior coordination, Heather Ray and I both wore our sparkle shoes to the gig tonight in Victoria, Texas. We were making each other laugh all evening long pretty much just by singing random songs to each other. We didn’t have very many request tonight, but that didn’t stop us from entertaining. The crowd was enjoying just watching two random musicians in sparkly shoes try to make it to the end of a song before bursting out laughing!

Moonshine & Ale 4/11/19

People were having a good time tonight at Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels, TX! I always dig playing with great musicians like Pancho (guitar) and Andrae (drums). We had a lot of singers tonight, and we played a bunch of tunes which don’t often get requested. Fun, fun!

Greek Bros 4/10/19

All Request Piano was invited to do a few more shows for our friends in El Campo. Tonight, I played solo piano from 7p-10p on this Wednesday night for the dinner crowd. I had quite a lot of requests, and even some dancers scattered around the club. Just by its nature, this was a low-key show, but everyone still enjoyed themselves! Keep a lookout for the next time I’m back, and you could come enjoy some great food and request a song, too!

Darwin’s Pub 4/8/19

I played a whole bunch of tunes tonight in Austin with my buddy, Roger Glenn, on drums. It was a solid crowd for a Monday night on 6th Street! Those people made me feel good. Roger was just as good as ever, and I enjoyed performing with him. I wish I had more time to perform with all the great players I know! 

TKO’s Bar-Grill-Music 4/6/19

We played a show tonight in a haunted building in Shiner, TX, but fortunately, the ghosts seemed to be ok with our show! The crowd was unstoppable, and we played a solid 3-hour set to the packed house. I love playing shows with Heather, mostly because we just make each other laugh all evening. Thanks to Travis for booking us, and I hope the people of Shiner will have us back again soon!

Moonshine Drinkery 4/5/19

I like performing with Chris Wallis! We took requests again in Victoria, TX, tonight, and the 2nd song was “Don’t Stop Believing”. Yep, the crowd was ready for the hits early! That didn’t stop them from bringing up random Marshall Tucker Band tunes or other songs like “Spinning Wheel”. We played everything we possibly could, and the crowd was very appreciative after our show. Lots of nice compliments made me feel good!

Tonight marked my farewell performance in Texas. 

April fools! Joe Resnick and I had a great crowd in Austin, Texas, tonight. We even had a chance to play “9 to 5” when our buddy David Lee popped his head in to see us tonight. You just never know what will happen on a random Monday night on 6th street.
