Darwin’s Pub 5/28/19

I worked with John Duran tonight in Austin, Texas, on 6th Street. Tuesday nights can be unpredictable, but we ended up with a great group of people hanging out with us from all over the world. I like it when everyone is in a good mood like they were tonight!

Darwin’s Pub 5/27/19

Drummer Roger Glenn and I took requests in Austin, Texas, tonight. Roger and I perform well together, and we played all kinds of random tunes tonight. That’s part of what I like about performing on 6th Street. You never know what kind of randomness will be requested on a Monday night!

Mattie’s 5/26/19

Congrats to the newlyweds Olivia & Andy Cronin! I had the pleasure of performing at their reception in Austin, Texas, tonight with two of my favorite musicians, David Lee and drummer Joe Resnick. It was a really fun reception, and the people never left the dance floor. I’m glad I got to perform for them this evening.

Moonshine & Ale 5/24/19

Danny Smith and I conquered New Braunfels, Texas, tonight! We had a super-nice crowd, and they hung out with us all evening. A bunch of birthdays and random silliness took place, and I’m really sad if you’re reading this and missed the show. I’m really sad. You really missed something which will never happen again. Ever. Then again, you could say that about every event in our universe. Makes me feel small. But I’m happy!

Moonshine & Ale 5/23/19

We had a good time at Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels! Andrae, Pancho and I provided the backing tracks for our bar of singers, like every Thursday. Pancho even had a chance to sing, so he did “Blitzkrieg Bop”. I’ll be back tomorrow night for piano bar!

Greek Bros 5/22/19

I performed a solo All Request Piano Show from 7p-10p on this wonderful Wednesday night in El Campo, Texas. People were obviously busy eating, but that didn’t stop them from requesting songs. It wasn’t a sing-along show, but I had enough requests to keep me busy for my full three hours. I was fed a delicious pork chop, and the staff was as nice as they always are! I look forward to my next show here on Wednesday, June 5th!

Darwin’s Pub 5/20/19

Monday night found me in Austin, Texas, on 6th Street with drummer Joe Resnick. I always have a good time when Joe and I get a chance to perform together. We have lots of overlap in our musical tastes and sensibilities. The crowd was late at first, but grew as the night progressed. We met people from Germany, San Diego, Chicago, Delaware, New York, and more over the course of the evening. I’ll be back at Darwins next Monday and Tuesday nights!

Darwin’s Pub 5/19/19

I performed for the first time with drummer Rich Carducci on 6th Street in Austin tonight. I was called as a fill-in for someone. I normally have Sunday nights off, but I figured I could help out! I had fun with Rich. We played lots of random tunes for people from Florida, Connecticut, Georgia and more. I’ll be back for more tomorrow night!

Moonshine & Ale 5/18/19

Michael Carrandi and I were joined by new drummer Ryan Hall in New Braunfels tonight. Those two fellas are a fun team. It was one of our best request nights ever. The crowd brought up endless amounts of songs for us to play. We broke out the keytar a couple of times for some big birthday songs, and kept the energy up all night. Thanks, New Braunfels, Texas, for a truly enjoyable evening!

Moonshine & Ale 5/17/19

Tommy and I took requests in New Braunfels, TX, tonight. It was kinda a strange Friday night. The big crowd didn’t show up until later in the evening, and when they finally decided to start requesting songs, they were really off-center selections. Nothing bad, mind you, just abnormal. We still had a bunch of people come up after the show to tell us how much they enjoyed it, so we did our job!

Moonshine & Ale 5/16/19

I played keys for Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels, TX, tonight. Pancho and Andrae held down guitar and drums. Lots and lots and lots and lots of singers graced the stage. I even got to see a few familiar faces from previous shows! Those two fellas are fun to work with.

Darwin’s Pub 5/14/19

We had a busy Tuesday night in Austin, Texas, tonight! I performed with drummer John Duran. We had lots of tunes neither one of us have played before. John’s a good guy, and he jumped on every tune I threw at him. Christopher Cross, Harry Belafonte, Guns N’ Roses, and Louis Armstrong were all played, back-to-back. We had so many people at midnight, they asked us to play an extra half-hour at the end of the night!

Urban8 5/11/19

We played another show in The Colony, Texas, tonight! It was Heather in piano and me on drums (most of the night, anyway). We had a bigger crowd than Friday night, and we met some great people.  My favorite mash-up tonight was when I was on piano, someone wanted “All Star” by Smashmouth, at the same time I was starting “Friends In Low Places” by Garth Brooks. I shoehorned them together. A close second was putting “It Takes 2” in everything.

Urban8 5/10/19

Heather Ray and I teamed up in The Colony, TX, (Dallas area) at a food court where they have live music regularly, and a piano show every Friday and Saturday night. This was our first time performing at this venue. Heather is a bunch of fun to perform with, and we had a good time tonight. Thanks to Stanley for booking All Request Piano for this weekend! I’m looking forward to another good show tomorrow!

Moonshine & Ale 5/9/19

Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels, TX, rocked tonight with Amy (from Colorado Keys) on drums and Mark on guitar. We didn’t have as many singers as some other nights, but the singers we had took the stage multiple times to make it a good night. The fella in the picture was singing “Shake It Off”. Awesome.

Darwin’s Pub 5/6/19

Monday on 6th Street in Austin, Texas, was fun with drummer Roger Glenn tonight! We took a bunch of requests from the crowd and played everything from The Darkness to Dolly Parton. Roger had a group of co-workers come out to see the show, which made me laugh for two reasons: 1. I thought I was his co-worker, and 2. when he isn’t drumming I he works from home. So now I can only assume he calls his family his Board Of Directors.

Slow Poke’s Brisket Shack 5/5/19

Today, I filled in some keys with the band Gumbo YaYa in Austin, TX, for a fundraiser benefiting Pop Up Birthday (bringing birthday experiences to foster kids who might not otherwise get celebrated). I performed with the talented musicians; Paul Hollis (guitar), Geno Gottschall (bass, tuba), Kenny Felton (drums), and Paul (P.K) Klemperer (sax). We played a bunch of my favorite New Orleans tunes, and I learned a few more for this gig I’d never tried. We ate some crawfish and tried to stay cool on an upper 80s day. It was a good show, and maybe I’ll get a chance to work with the fellas again in the future.

TKO’s Bar-Grill-Music 5/3/19

It was a dark and stormy night. Chris Wallis and I drove to Shiner, TX, to brighten it up by taking requests from the crowd. The backdrop tonight was making me laugh because it was rotating through a couple of my promo phots all evening. It’s always a joy to work with Chris, and the crowd could tell we were enjoying the show together. I hope we can rotate through Shiner often. It’s a really great club!

Moonshine & Ale 5/2/19

I played another Thursday night show with these two fun fellas in New Braunfels, TX, tonight. We did our Live Band Karaoke thing, where people in the crowd choose a song off a list and come up to sing with us. Most people stuck to the list. Sometimes, we heard, “But you don’t know (insert song name)?” Yep. We know lots of songs, but rules are rules. Rule #1. Pick a song from the list. 😄

Darwin’s Pub 4/30/19

Roger Glenn and I performed on 6th street in Austin, TX, tonight. We had a bunch of Buddy Holly requested, as well as lots of 80s pop. We ended up performing a little longer than usual because the crowd wouldn’t stop bringing up requests. It’s a good problem to have. One fella from overseas came up and asked me why I haven’t gotten huge touring with a big rock band. I told him it was so I could meet him. He said if I was huge, I wouldn’t care about him. I told him that’s why I didn’t want to be huge. He said my bank account would like me to be huge, and he walked away.
