The Driskill 10/28/19

At 4:15pm, I was running some errands when I got a text from New York, NY Dueling Pianos asking if I could cover a solo piano show in Austin, TX, starting at 6p. I rushed home, changed, threw some gear in my car and headed to the show, where I was set up and ready by 5:50p! I played a couple of hours for the AD Mortgage meet & greet cocktail hour. It went great, and I even made it home in time to eat a late dinner with my wife.

Urban8 10/26/19

Heather Ray and I performed for a Halloween costume event in The Colony, TX, tonight! She went as Madonna and I as Elton John, plus my wife joined in on the fun as an 80s Goth punk. We always have fun performing together, but it was even more fun tonight because of everybody in the crowd was wearing some fantastic costumes! Cher, Jesus, Ghost Rider, the Power Rangers, mummies, Grumpy Cat, Jimmy Carter, a Starfleet Officer, and bunches more filled the room. Heather rules, and I’d play every show with her if I could. My niece and her husband showed up and sat up close, so I was able to joke around with them a bit all evening, which was fun, too. Great night, and the costume contest at the end was hard to judge, but congrats to the three who took home cash prizes. Next show for me is in Corpus on Halloween with Heather, and our costumes for there will be epic.

Nocona Beer & Brewery 10/25/19

I drove to Nocona to represent Felix & Fingers for a Halloween bash. I was joined by drummer Josh Rodgers. We had a great group of dancers all evening, and lots of interesting requests. My wife made the five-hour drive with me, and took photos of the crowd. Lots of delicious beer was consumed. And “brewery” is the hardest word to say, sober or not! Congratulations to all the costume contest winners, and happy Halloween!

Moonshine & Ale 10/24/19

Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels, went well tonight, even thought it was raining cats and dogs. Andrae, Pancho and I had fun with the singers, and played some Halloween interludes throughout the night. Gotta go get some sleep now before I head way up north to my gig tomorrow in Nocona, TX!

Darwin’s Pub 10/20/19

I’ve done six shows in six days, traveled about 1,000 miles, and the past four nights have been with my buddy Heather Ray. Tonight we played in Austin on 6th Street, and we had the people dancing all night. Heather and I swapped between drums and piano throughout the night, and the people loved it. We have such a strong show together, and I feel so lucky to have a talented friend who wants to perform with me all over the place. After we were done, we walked down the street and talked with some other piano players we know, which was great getting a chance to catch up a bit with fellow musicians like Chris Saucedo and Mike Atkins!

Gloria Dei Lutheran Church 10/19/19

We drove from Brownsville to Houston, TX, today to perform at “Date Night” at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, (representing Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos). Heather Ray and I have such a good time performing together, and the crowd can tell. We engaged them for our two-hour performance, and tried to play as many of the dozens of requests as we could in the time allotted. We finished up to a standing ovation, and after shaking some hands and meeting a bunch of the audience, we packed up and headed to San Marcos. Over 800 miles so far this weekend, and Heather and I still have a show in Austin tomorrow night!

Venezzia The Venue 10/18/19

Heather and I took All Request Piano to Brownsville, TX, tonight to perform at the Halloween party for the Tip Of Texas Family Outreach. This was our second time performing for them, the first time was a couple years ago. It’s a good group  of people with lots of great costumes! I dressed up like Animal from the Muppets, and Heather was Tom Cruise from Risky Business. They called the night “Spooktacular Piano Bar”.  Everyone seemed to enjoy all the food, dancing and music, and Heather and I had a great time. We hope to come back next year!

Moonshine & Ale 10/17/19

Tonight, I took Heather with me to Live Band Karaoke with Andrae Blissett and Pancho Garza in New Braunfels, TX. She hadn’t played a show like this yet, so I figured I’d help her get one logged. Andrae and Pancho always make it fun, and Heather did a fantastic job keeping up with the show. We had a bunch of friends and fans in the audience, which made the night even better. I played some drums for Andrae for a few tunes, and everyone left happy. Great night!

Darwin’s Pub 10/16/19

Mikey Gammon and I played from 9p-midnight on 6th street in Austin, TX, tonight. Some different requests hit the piano, like Billy Joel’s “You’re My Home”. I can’t say I ever remember anyone asking for that one. Genesis, Madonna, Outcast, Blink-182 and so many more requests on a Wednesday night. We tackled them all, and then posed for pictures after the show! I love the fans of the show!

Darwin’s Pub 10/15/19

I went back at it again tonight in Austin, TX, this time with drummer John Duran. We only had a handful of people on this stormy Tuesday night, but they hung out with us until the end. I’ll be back tomorrow night to finish what I started tonight.

Darwin’s Pub 10/13/19

I had a great time with my buddy Heather Ray in Austin, TX, tonight. Yesterday was her birthday, so we met up a little early to hang out and have dinner before our show. Tonight was the first time we had a chance to perform together at Darwin’s, and it was great! We kept a big crowd all night, and we even went an extra half-hour because people didn’t want us to stop. Thanks to everyone who danced and sang with us tonight!

Rockey’s Piano Bar 10/12/19

I drove to Round Rock tonight to perform with drummer Mikey Gammon. We haven’t done a show together in a little while, but the show was tight anyway. The crowd gave us tons of requests, so many in fact that the bar asked us to play an extra 30 minutes, which we gladly did. The place was hopping tonight, and I had a good time!

Moonshine & Ale 10/11/19

Dave Lovett joined me in New Braunfels to take requests tonight. We haven’t had a show together in a while, so it was good to catch up with him again. We had brides and birthdays, and a whole buncha outta-towners. Normally, we don’t really like to repeat tunes, but tonight, so many of the first requests were common piano bar tunes, that we had to do a bunch of them later in the night, too! The crowd went home very happy.
