Moonshine & Ale 11/28/19
Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels was busy on this thanksgiving night! Pancho played guitar and for the very first time, Jay RWB played drums. Jay did great for his first time listening to the click track for the drums and guiding singers through the night. Pancho, as always, killed on guitar. My best buddy Heather came out to play with us as my guest, and we swapped between bass and piano all evening. We even had some other New Braunfels musicians come hang out with us, like Andrae Blissett and Ed Diaz. This holiday, I am thankful to know a bunch of great performers, and have such good friends. It was a fun night, and Heather and I had way too many great photos to post here, but they’ll pop up somewhere, I’m sure. Happy thanksgiving!

Corpus Christi Moonshine & Ale 11/27/19
Heather Ray and I headed to Corpus Christi for a special Wednesday-before-Thanksgiving-Day show tonight. People came out to, what I can only assume, pre-load for their big day tomorrow with all the family. We kept our energy up and played everything from Backstreet Boys to U2. Heather and I both tried out a bunch of tunes we’d never played before. Side note: I wore the best T-Shirt which was a gift from my wife. It has Fozzie Bear as Chewbacca with “Chewockawockawocka” printed on it. Yep. Best T for miles around.

Darwin’s Pub 11/24/19
I’m so lucky to know some awesomely strong women, and tonight, I got to hang out with a couple of them. My wife Christine, my musical partner Heather and I went to Kemuri Tatsu-ya for an amazing meal, then went to the Blue Genie Art Bazaar before Heather and I performed in 6th Street in Austin. I had bunches of fun with them! Our show wasn’t very busy, but the people who were there hung out all night, and then made it a point to tell us things like they only planned on having a drink and then leaving, but loved us and stayed, or how we were the best thing happening on 6th. We have been video recording our past few shows for a new promo video. Soon, I hope I’ll be able to share some clips from shows so everyone can see why I love performing with Heather!

Moonshine & Ale 11/22/19
“House favorites” makes me happy to read when heading to a gig! Heather and I love New Braunfels and getting to work together there. We had lots of fun singing and making each other laugh tonight. The tree lighting took place on the squircle (square? circle?) just before our show, so lots of people were in the club right from the beginning. Elvis even made an appearance in the crowd! One of our friends showed up at the end of the night, and he was feeling super toasty. He didn’t know what “toasty” meant, but he defined it tonight.

Moonshine & Ale 11/21/19
Did the Live Band Karaoke thing with those two yahoos known as Pancho and Andrae. Yeah, we did it good. Played songs and people sang songs and we even played the songs they were singing sometimes. New Braunfels may never be the same again. I’ll be back tomorrow for the All Request Piano show with my buddy Heather. Ima sing more songs.

Corpus Christi Moonshine & Ale 11/16/19
Heather Ray and I completed our third night with a bang in Corpus Christi! Juan Vargas joined us at 10p again to help us close out the evening. The night was full of unusual requests, and we heard from tons of people about how impressed they were by our show. Once, I ran around the club with the keytar and Heather sang while I did. We both had some guests join us on stage to celebrate newlyweds and birthdays. The night went so well that they asked for an encore, so we provided.
By the way, we’ve been done for hours, and Heather won’t stop singing songs to me. Good times.

Corpus Christi Moonshine & Ale 11/15/19
The amazing Heather Ray and I swapped between instruments in Corpus Christi tonight until we were joined by drummer Juan Vargas at 10p. The crowd sang along as we played a bunch of requests. As we played “Shallow”, one awesome person came up an made it rain on our piano. And by “made it rain” for those of you reading this who don’t know means they showered us in bills because they loved the song. I like to educate when I can.

Corpus Christi Moonshine & Ale 11/14/19
Live Band Karaoke in Corpus Christi was a little slow tonight, but we still had quite a few singers up on stage with us. Greg Galindo, Heather Ray and I kept the night going by performing the backing tracks for tunes people would pick from the list. Heather and I will be back tomorrow and Saturday for piano bar! Also, check out Heather’s new tattoo in one of the pictures!

I got a chance to play with Roger Glenn tonight in Austin, Texas, tonight! I always like hanging out with Roger. He’s a good friend and a great musician. It was really cold out, but we still had a decent crowd for a Tuesday night. In between songs, we buzzed a little about the new Disney + show, “The Mandalorian”, but gave no spoilers. Good show. Both ours and “The Mandalorian”.

Urban8 11/9/19
Today I drove four hours north, through Dallas, to The Colony, Texas, to perform with my buddy Heather Ray. When I arrived, Heather was just pulling up in the parking lot, and there was a fireworks display going off right behind the club. We decided to snap a selfie with fireworks and ended up with hearts in the sky! Appropriate, because we love working together. Our show went great with lots of requests from the crowd. As an added bonus, a bunch of my family showed up to see the show. One of my favorite requests tonight came from my nephew. He asked for Will Smith’s “Nightmare On My Street”. I happily played it for him! Now, a four-hour drive home. Totally worth it.

Fairmont Hotel 11/8/19
Heather Ray and I performed at the Fairmont Hotel in Austin, TX, tonight for a fundraiser for St. Jude’s, where we represented Shake, Rattle and Roll dueling pianos. The crowd was great and we had them up dancing a bunch during our show. Heather and I work so well as a team, and we heard lots of comments to that effect after we finished. Another successful show for the books!

Darwin’s Pub 11/4/19
I played a Monday night show on 6th Street in Austin, TX, tonight with drummer John Duran. We had a great crowd dancing and requesting tunes inside, while right behind me, they were filming something for Jimmy Fallon. We played as many songs as time allowed, and I headed home. I’m so ready to get a good night’s sleep.

Darwin’s Pub 11/3/19
Austin was packed full of F1 race enthusiasts tonight! I took the stage with my super-talented buddy, Heather Ray, and right from the first minute, the requests started flowing in and didn’t stop all night long. In fact, the crowd was having such a good time with us, they hired us for an additional hour at the end of the night. Heather and I were flattered, and of course, played our very best. Our show together always makes people happy!

Corpus Christi Moonshine & Ale 11/2/19
Today before our show, my wife Christine, pianist Heather Ray and I went to the aquarium in Corpus Christi. We had a great time hanging out and looking at all the exhibits together. Then after dinner, heather and I headed to the club to perform our request piano show. We had a ton of people, and played requests to a packed house all night long. Drummer Juan joined us at 10p, and played the rest of the evening. I love when Heather and I get to share a stage, and I’m so glad that Christine was able to come down with us this weekend!

Corpus Christi Moonshine & Ale 11/1/19
Heather, Juan, and I played to a November 1st crowd tonight in Corpus Christi. We had a bachelor party hanging out with us all night, who turns out had seen me perform in New Braunfels a bunch, and was friends with guitarist Jay Wimberly! Heather and I laughed out way through the whole night, and we’ll be back again tomorrow for more fun.

Corpus Christi Moonshine & Ale 10/31/19
Heather Ray and I went to our Live Band Karaoke gig in Corpus Christi tonight as the Grady Twins from The Shining, and my wife Christine went as the Overlook Hotel carpet. Greg Galindo joined us on guitar at the show, and we had an endless stream of costumed singers join us as we backed up them up. A unicorn, a pea pod, Carrie, Supergirl guy, Freddie Mercury, and so many more great costumes were represented. I’m so glad that I have an awesome wife and friends who like to go all out with me on special occasions. Happy Halloween!
