Rockey’s Piano Bar 10/30/20
Tonight in Round Rock, TX, I was joined onstage by my friend, drummer Roger Glenn. He graciously filled in for my partner Heather Ray who was unable to make the show tonight. Roger is a solid player, and a good guy to work with. The song requests started flowing in before we even took the stage, and we had so many that the club asked us to play an extra hour at the end of the night! About halfway through our show, another drummer buddy of mine showed up, Jason Corbiere. I invited him to sit in on a couple tunes, and I loved being able to catch up with both Roger and Jason tonight. Made a few new fans, and played lots of fun tunes, so the night was a success!

Moonshine & Ale 10/29/20
Ever have one of those days where nothing seems to go right? Yeah, that’s 2020. My mother-in-law is ill, and this morning in Indiana, I was awoken because she had fallen out of bed. Christine and I got her back into bed, and I was able to snooze for about 45 minutes before I had to get in the car and head to the airport. Got there about 8a, and before 10a, my partner Heather text me that she had to have emergency surgery (happy to say, she’ll recover) and wouldn’t be able to make the shows this weekend. Flew to Texas where I had a mild argument with a friend on the phone upon arriving, and then realized the ride I had arranged with a different friend was miscommunicated for a different day. So I walked about 4.5 miles down the street while waiting for my buddy to pick me up. Made it home, and my wife sent me pics of a minor disaster she was dealing with in Indiana. The show at Moonshine & Ale went great and was some needed stress relief. Both Heather and Christine were in better moods and texting me, so things were better. Then, I got home after the gig and realized it was cold in the house, even though I left the heat on. Opened the door to the furnace closet, and found that when the roofers installed the new roof, they messed up the vent pipe. Can’t use my furnace until it’s fixed. It’s just a never ending battle.

Quarantine Keys 10/28/20
I live-streamed tonight on the QK page for a couple hours. I figured out a good and fairly easy way to get a good sound with minimal set up on an acoustic piano at a remote location. I have a 2-input interface, so I plugged a vocal mic in one, and dropped a mic on the soundboard of the piano, then ran the signal mono. In OBS, I ran a compressor and a reverb plug-in. I was really happy with the results! Sorry for nerding out about gear, but it made me happy.

Moonshine & Ale 10/24/20
New Braunfels, TX, was full of people looking for music tonight, so Heather and I, with the help of Brenna MacQuarrie, pleased them with tunes! The keytar made several appearances, and I used a few sounds I’d never tried before. Brenna was good to work with, and this was our first show together. Heather has made this weekend easy and fun, and I really appreciate how she always goes above and beyond both on and off the stage.

Southern Roots Brewing Co. 10/23/20
After our livestream today, we drove up to Waco, TX, to perform at Southern Roots Brewing Company. This was our first show in this venue and it went great! The crowd was into what we were doing and participated with us during our 2.5 hour long show. Heather and I were cracking each other up during the whole performance, and it kinda felt normal for a bit. 2020 has brought lots of emotions with it, so it was good to be happy with a friend in a venue which we hope to have a good working relationship with for a long time to come!

Moot Music Cafe 10/23/20
Our live stream today was primarily for an overseas audience, and we had people from Scotland and England, but there we’re also people from California Florida and Texas joining us! Heather and I did about a two hour show. It was a bunch of fun, as it always is with her. We made some new fans, and after the show, we had a few new page likes on All Request Piano. Thanks to everyone at Moot. Look for our monthly live stream there!
Moonshine & Ale 10/22/20
On bass, Heather joined me, Pancho and Ryan tonight in New Braunfels, TX, for Live Band Karaoke! I was so happy she came down to do the show. It’s always fun to play with the LBK fellas, but it’s really fun to have bass, too. We had a bunch of singers, and Heather kept me laughing though the night. It’s been a stressful time for me, but tonight helped a little. We’ll play together a few more times this weekend, too! Yay!

Live Stream 10/21/20
I had a good bunch of people on the stream tonight by the time I ended! They were asking for random tunes in French, some ballads and love songs, and we celebrated a birthday. I felt loved as everyone said nice things to me during the show. It’s good to have an outlet for some energy during weird days.
Quarantine Keys 10/21/20
I played about an hour-and-a-half on the QK page from Lebanon, IN, tonight. It’s been a hard few months, but performing keeps me sorta focused. Not a ton of people online because I was on fairly early, but I’m doing another stream right after this on AllRequestPiano’s page to grab some viewers for the evening. It was a good warm-up show.

Quarantine Keys 10/14/20
I set up on the porch of my in-laws house in Indiana for my QK livestream tonight. I played to just a few people who signed on for the show. Mid-way through, I had to jump up and help my mother-in-law back to bed, but afterwards, I came back and finished the show. I even got a little live applause from neighborhood folks who were walking past the house.

Moonshine & Ale 10/10/20
Our triumphant return to New Braunfels was great! I’m so happy to be able to share the stage with my partner, Heather Ray. She helps keep a smile on my face during these weird days. We had a great crowd, and lots of people opting to use our Venmo account to request songs so we could socially distance properly. Greg Galindo joined us on drums, which was cool because I haven’t had a chance to work with him in a long time. We had friends show up to support us, and I played a few serious keytar tunes. It felt sorta normal!

The Meekermark 10/9/20
Tonight, Heather and I welcomed newlyweds Mr and Mrs Hughes to the dance floor as we played for their wedding reception. I love when we get to perform together for great people! It was a beautiful reception, and we had tons of great requests. Thanks for including us on your big day, and congratulations! #meekermark #wedding #weddingreception #weddingentertainment #musicians #weddingplanning

Live Stream 11/8/20
I flew from Indy to Austin today, and my partner Heather Ray and Chance picked me up at the airport. We pick up some BBQ and took it to my house where we ate and then live-streamed for a couple hours on Facebook. We were both loopy from not enough sleep, but it was great to hang out. Heather is always a positive burst of energy! We have a wedding tomorrow to perform for, so I’m off to bed for now.

Quarantine Keys 10/7/20
Tonight, I did 1.5 hours on Quarantine Keys. I had a bunch of people jump on, and I was happy to play their requests. I also had a few regulars join me, and got to play a bunch of Beatles tunes, which is fun for me. I’m flying from Indy to Austin in the morning, so I gotta get some sleep, but I’m live streaming with my partner, Heather Ray, tomorrow! Yay!!

Live Stream 10/3/20
Tonight’s livestream on AllRequestPiano was full of great song requests and pizza preferences. I tried out my new background thing tonight, and it worked well. My partner Heather jumped on mid-show to get a few requests in for herself, which I played best I could for her. A favorite part of the night for me came pretty early when my wife sent me a text to let me know her mom, Nikki, was watching, so I was able to play a couple of her favorite songs for her. It made me feel good to know she was watching.
