Sean Patrick’s Irish Pub 8/27/22

We played on the square in San Marcos tonight. We brought our piano and drums show to play three non-stop hours of crowd-generated requests. Everything from Uncle Lucious to Queen, “Pressure” to “Fly Me To The Moon”, and so much more. Another great show for the books!

Barrels and Amps 8/26/22

I had so much fun with Heather at our show tonight in Georgetown, TX! While we were playing everyone’s requests at our dueling pianos show, we would make all the goofy faces and sing in all the goofy voices. Also, I accidentally wrote the funniest joke for Halloween while talking to the crowd.

Me: “I love Halloween. I start getting ready for it on November 1st every year. It’s my favorite holiday! I’m even wearing Freddy Krueger underwear right now!”

Guy in the crowd, motioning for me to drop my pants: “Prove it!”

Me: “In your dreams.”

Moonshine & Ale 8/25/21

Heather, Pancho and I led everyone through Live Band Karaoke tonight in New Braunfels. There were a few familiar faces, but lots of new people, too. We kept things running smoothly while each person who wanted to sing was able to join us onstage. We’ll be back for more next Thursday!

Groove Labs 8/23/22

We performed the in headline spot Blizzard's Summer Party virtual event on Zoom, from the Groove Labs warehouse in Austin, TX, this afternoon from 3p-4p. We had several hundred people watching as we played the requests coming in on the chat. Before our performance, Aaron Lack’s steel pan performed some groovy versions of tunes, and DJ Nixx started the event and got people in the swing. Thanks to Groove Labs for having us! We always enjoy working with Beth and her crew!

Kissing Tree 8/21/22

My day started at 11am in New Braunfels, TX, where I was running sound for a Selena tribute act at Moonshine & Ale. I wrapped up there at 4:30pm and drove up to San Marcos to meet up with Heather for a dueling pianos show at Kissing Tree. The crowd was fantastic, and the sang along and danced to lots of great requests! We played everything from “Respect” to “Mack The Knife” to “I Got A Feeling” to “Baby Got Back”, and had a bunch of fun. Kevin (who runs the place) was celebrating his 55th birthday, so we also were able to help him celebrate, and they had cake for everyone!

Moonshine & Ale 8/20/22

I started off the day swimming with Heather and my wife in the river before we headed to New Braunfels for our Saturday night show. It was a packed house when we started our show, and the crowd was really involved right from the start! We had friends pop in throughout the night, and helped a bunch of people celebrate birthdays and engagements. Our buddy Chris Wallis joined us on stage at 10pm, and was thrown into the deep end as we pulled out the keytar for his first song of the night. Heather and I love playing shows with Chris!

Barrels and Amps 8/19/22

Tonight’s show was in Georgetown, TX, to a crowd asking for off-center songs, and we played as many as we could! “Listen To The Music”, “Dracula’s Lament”, and “Hold The Line” to name a few we played. We’ll be back in Georgetown next Friday!

Moonshine & Ale 8/18/22

I’m thankful for Heather and Pancho. They make Live Band Karaoke so much fun. When we have a good time, the singers have a good time. It’s difficult sometimes because everyone wants to sing, and we call people up in order, which means the late crowd sometimes misses out, but tonight, nearly everyone was able to join us on stage. We only missed a few folks, and I hope they come back next Thursday so we could maybe have them up!

Moonshine & Ale 8/14/22

Tonight was our final show in our summer concert series, and we played a few songs by all of the previous show’s artists including Billy Joel, George Strait, Jimmy Buffett, Journey, The Beatles, Elton John, Tom Petty, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, and The Rolling Stones! The crowd danced and sang along, and generally just had lots of fun. The band tonight consisted of some truly talented musicians, including drummer Chris Wallis, Kevin Humphrey on bass, Anthony Sanders on acoustic, Pancho Garza on electric, my partner Heather Shook on vocals and percussion, and I played keys and sang. This series was a tremendous amount of work, but I really enjoyed all of it. I’m hopeful we might be able to do it again next summer!

Moonshine Drinkery 8/13/22

I love whenever Heather and I get a chance to perform for our Victoria, TX, friends. We had city officials, library personnel, people from the symphony, a 30th high school class reunion, plus birthdays and lots of familiar faces in the crowd! We were supposed end at midnight, but we had so many requests and so many people listening that we played an extra 45 minutes. Heather and I will be back before the end of the year!

Moonshine & Ale 8/12/22

Piano bar was crazy tonight in New Braunfels! We kept the crowd happy by playing their requests from 8:30p-midnight. Lots of great tunes were asked for, and the crowd was having fun along with us! Heather was amazing, and she once again made me so proud to get to share the stage with her!

Moonshine & Ale 8/11/22

Live Band Karaoke was hopping tonight in New Braunfels! I was on drums, Heather filled the keys, and Pancho played guitar. I enjoy every show with these two. We kept calling singers to the stage all night long, and still had people wanting to join us at the end. I’m just glad we were able to get so many people up to sing with us over the course of the evening, and it was really great to see some friends in the crowd!

Kerbey Lane 8/10/22

We performed for Roy Bohrer’s 84th birthday party tonight in San Marcos! It was a small gathering of his family, and they sang along with us during our hour long set. Roy likes polkas and some New Orleans music, so I made sure to play some for him. They also had a couple of cute kids running around and dancing to tunes. We had a nice time helping them all celebrate! Happy birthday, Roy!

Moonshine & Ale 8/7/22

We played two hours of music by The Rolling Stones tonight in New Braunfels. This band is a joy to work with! Heather and I have been working hard to get these cover nights sounding great on our end, and the other players never disappoint. Pancho on electric really sounded fantastic, and Anthony on acoustic had the rhythm parts nailed down. I could tell that Cam on drums was really in his element, and Chris made his debut playing percussion and added a huge amount to the overall sound of the band. This summer concert series has been a tremendous amount of work, but I’m so thankful we are able to do these shows for the people. Next week, we’ll perform an All Artist Review, where we’ll play a few hits from all of the various acts we’ve covered this summer!

Greek Bros Oyster Bar & Grill 8/6/22

How cool is it that I get to work with rock stars like Heather and Chris?! The three of us played to a sold-out room in El Campo tonight, and I loved every minute of it. We had such a great crowd that they asked us to perform an extra half-hour, and during our 3.5 hour long show, we had enough requests to play another 3.5 hours! I am truly thankful for the people who were at the show tonight, and also for Chris and Heather for just being great friends and musicians.

Moonshine & Ale 8/5/22

Before our show, I went with Heather and her husband Chance down to Natural Bridge Caverns and walked through the cave, which was a great way to start the day! Heather and I headed to New Braunfels right after spelunking, where I parallel parked in front of a guy who ran up and knocked on my window to tell me he thought I was too close. I moved, then went inside to a packed house. During the course of the evening a woman fell over laughing, and her friends tried to pick her up, but dumped her back on the ground so they could sing the chorus of a song with us. Another woman intentionally poured a full beer all over herself during “Pour Some Sugar On Me”. We celebrated lots of birthdays, bachelorette parties and graduations. After the show, we were walking back to my car where we saw a guy laying down, passed out in the parking lot to a seafood restaurant. I dunno what was in the air tonight, but apparently it was powerful.

Moonshine & Ale 8/4/22

Heather and I kick started our weekend with Pancho at Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels. The crowd grew to fill the room, and by the end of the evening, we had lots of people wanting to sing. I wish we could get to all of them, but there’s always next week! Heather and I will return for Friday night piano bar at Moonshine & Ale!

Moonshine & Ale 7/31/22

Wow. The concert series in New Braunfels, TX, just keeps getting better and better! Tonight, we played two hours of Fleetwood Mac. Heather’s vocals gave me chills while I harmonized with her. When I took the lead singing duties, Heather’s harmonies sat perfectly on mine. Brett Cline was playing bass, and he also threw in some tasty harmonies, as well as some fingerpicking acoustic guitar on a couple songs. Cam Martin was on drums, and Pancho Garza was on guitar, and everyone really nailed their parts well! I also played acoustic guitar on a tune while Heather played piano, and it marked the first time in recent memory that I played guitar in front of a crowd. I have a hard time believing I get to work with such talented musicians so often. The bar was full, and the crowd was extremely complimentary towards us. Next week, we play the music of The Rolling Stones!
