Old Kress Live 10/28/23

Dia De Los Muertos Street Festival was happening tonight in Corpus Christi, TX, and it was jam-packed for our show! There were lots of great costumes which made Heather and I happy to see people getting into the holiday. We played everyone’s requests from 9:30p-1a, including Halloween favorites like “Monster Mash”, “Thriller”, “I Put A Spell On You”, “Black Magic Wonan” and so many more. The staff and owners are so friendly and treat us great there, and we always enjoy performing for them and their customers. We will be back on Friday, November 3rd, so mark your calendars.

Sean Patrick’s Irish Pub 10/27/23

We performed in downtown San Marcos, TX, tonight for our monthly show at Sean Patrick’s! The World Series was on, and lots of people were in costume for Halloween, so it was a flurry of activity throughout the building. We had fun performing people’s requests, as always! A fellow piano player, Kayla Roth, showed up to watch the show, and it was great to see her again. We will return to Sean Patrick’s on Friday, Nov 24, so mark your calendars.

Moonshine & Ale 10/26/23

Yeah, I played in New Braunfels, TX, with two amazing musicians tonight for Live Band Karaoke. Some of you know them, but it’s worth reintroducing them every now and then for all the new people. Pancho Garza is that rare breed of guitar player who is always playing the tastiest of licks while simultaneously worrying he’s too loud. He can play pretty much anything you throw at him, and he plays it well. He’s a super nice guy on top of everything! Heather is my partner and one of my best friends. She is so positive and talented, and we go together like butter and even more butter. She learns new musical techniques daily, and her growth seems exponential. The three of us play any one of 400 songs most every Thursday for people to get up and sing with us. Most of you out there have tried to learn a song, be it on recorder in 3rd grade, strummed on your brother’s guitar some, or sang a cappella. It’s hard! But playing with these two makes all 400 so easy.

Hudson House 10/21/23

We played a very nice event in Altus, Oklahoma tonight where we represented NY/NY Dueling Pianos. It was a fundraiser for the Altus Chamber of Commerce. Before we began, they held a cocktail hour outside the venue with a Photo Booth, bar, and a solo bass player named Eric Harris entertaining everyone before the live auction and our dueling pianos show! They enjoyed our show so much, they asked us to play an extra half-hour, which we did, and had a great time!

Moonshine & Ale 10/20/23

It’s pretty cool to get to work with one of your best friends. We have a great time on stage, and we travel well together. Heather and I took requests in New Braunfels tonight, and we loved some of the random songs people were asking us for. “Chain Of Fools”, “For What It’s Worth”, “Good For You”, “Fire and Rain” and so many more interesting song choices like these! After we finished our show at midnight, we drove to an AirB&B on our way to Oklahoma for Saturday night’s gig. This AirB&B is about three hours north of New Braunfels, and full of interesting decor. We walked in to this big cat painted, so I decided I should try to match his energy while Heather looks terrified. Then, I discovered what I can only assume was the crown to make me King Dan.

Moonshine & Ale 10/19/23

Live Band Karaoke started off a little slow, but it picked up pretty quickly! We did everything from “Natural Woman” to “Georgia” to “I’ll Be” and so many more. Heather and Pancho are a dream team to perform with!

Moonshine & Ale 10/14/23

So I started my day by watching the eclipse which was pretty great to witness! Heather came over and we carpooled down to New Braunfels where we played our show with Doc on drums. I’m so glad I get to perform with awesome people in awesome venues. Heather and I really are so much alike. We say the same things at the same time, and randomly sing the same obscure tune for no reason. On our way to the show, she was making up funny words to the tune of “Jet Airliner” by Steve Miller. It caught me off guard because about an hour before she got to my house, I was making up funny words to “Jet Airliner” to Christine. What are the odds?

Moonshine & Ale 10/13/23

We played through the new sound system in New Braunfels tonight, and it sounded great! Heather and I both had long days. She’s moving into her house, and I helped with the PA install. We met up for dinner before the gig, and by showtime, we were cracking each other up non-stop. Good crowd of people gave us requests, and we laughed through all of them! We'll be back for the Saturday night show, so join us.

Moonshine & Ale 10/12/23

It’s Heather’s birthday! Today, she relocated to a house only 15 minutes from me, and I’m so excited for her and her family! She was busy unpacking all day, and my house has been getting some work done, so I hung screen doors until it was time to meet up in New Braunfels. Kevin was on guitar with us for Live Band Karaoke, and there was a sound man there installing some new gear. We played up to midnight, and Heather more or less followed me home. I’m so glad we’re finally neighbors. Christine and I gave her a dive mask and snorkel for her birthday because now we can go snorkeling together in the river pretty much anytime!

Fiesta Winery 10/7/23

We performed in Lometa, TX, tonight for our friends at Fiesta Winery! We had several birthdays celebrating with us, and a non-stop string of requests during our 7p-9p show. I was excited to perform there again with Heather because the crowd is welcoming and fun. My wife Christine took some great pictures as we played during sunset. I was also really excited to see our friend Lori from Indiana! It was a really great night, and the weather was perfect.

Old Kress Live 10/6/23

We performed during First Friday ArtWalk in Corpus Christi! My favorite part of the show was when Heather played “Duck Tales”. We always get the most interesting requests, and it makes the show fun. Thanks everyone for keeping those songs coming!

Moonshine & Ale 9/30/23

Heather and I finished up our weekend in New Braunfels with drummer Noel “Doc” Vickers. We had a full room and plenty of great requests from the crowd. We were laughing hard with Perry (owner of M&A) before we took the stage, and we kept laughing all the way until we got home! Noel and Heather are so much fun to perform with, and I’m lucky to regularly!
