Heather and I performed our year-end show in Belton, TX, tonight, and it was great! Our 2nd of two shows had people dancing and singing with us though random rock and pop requests, with some Christmas classics thrown in for the holidays. Someone requested the dog version of “Jingle Bells” for all the pups at home, waiting to go pee. Heather really sounded amazing, and I’m so glad we had such a good weekend with all of our friends and fans at the Beltonian. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!

The Beltonian Theatre 12/20/24
I love our Beltonian shows. Heather and I always have such a good time performing there. We had a fun crowd, with requests as wide as Chuck Berry to Snoop Dogg, Dolly Parton to Fleetwood Mac, Heather got several standing ovations, one was for “Amish Paradise”. I got a couple myself, one for “Georgia”. It felt good to have a nice big crowd of people willing to play sleigh bells at a moment’s notice!

Moonshine & Ale 12/19/24
Josh Holmes played guitar at Live Band Karaoke tonight in New Braunfels with me, Heather and Denise! Pancho needed a sub for tonight, so I called my nephew to see if he could fill in. It was his first night doing anything like this type of show, and he did great. Heather and I also enjoyed having some time to talk and hang out with him before and after our show. Denise helped him out by filling in any licks needed on the keys. It was a fun show all around, and a pretty busy night. Thanks to everyone who sang with us!

Moonshine & Ale 12/14/24
Great ending to a great weekend happened tonight in New Braunfels, TX, at our home away from home, Moonshine & Ale. We played here Thursday, then Oklahoma City on Friday, and back in New Braunfels tonight, so we put about a thousand miles on my truck, and didn’t get much sleep. The crowd was in a great mood and we had a ton of requests, so Heather and I leaned into that energy and really supported each other all night as we always do. Heather got to try on a paper mask of a groom’s face as we entertained a bachelorette party. Later, we had Jerrett Wenzel come in at 10pm to play drums, and he’s always fun to work with. Now I’m home, and I might not leave the couch for a couple days. Goodnight!

Devon Energy Center 12/13/24
Heather and I picked up drummer Zack Carreon in San Marcos, TX, after our Thursday night show, and we drove to Hillsboro, TX, to sleep, then continued to Oklahoma City, OK, this afternoon to set up for a private event on the 50th floor in a ballroom. We had a great time, and the three of us played a 2.5 hour show for about 150 people. We finished up and loaded out in a light rain, and headed back to Hillsboro to get some sleep. Tomorrow, Heather and I will be back at Moonshine & Ale in New Braunfels, TX!

Moonshine & Ale 12/12/24
Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels started off slow tonight, but we filled up by 10p with a bunch of singers. There were several groups wanting to sing together instead of just individuals. Some of our regulars tried several new songs which was fun to try some new songs with them. Heather and Pancho sounded great, as always. Now, Heather and I are halfway to OKC for a private event Friday night, but we’ll be back in New Braunfels for piano bar Saturday!

Old Kress Live 12/7/24
We played our second of two nights at Old Kress Live in Corpus Christi tonight. Heather and I had some fun requests from diverse artists like ABBA, Tears For Fears, and Stevie Wonder. We had a birthday to celebrate, and everyone had fun. DJ Zack took the stage after we finished and kept the crowd dancing while we loaded out. Heather and I had a great conversation on our 3-hour drive home, and I’m so glad we get to tour around together. Next week, we play in New Braunfels, Oklahoma City, and then back in New Braunfels. It’ll be another whirlwind weekend!

Old Kress Live 12/6/24
We had some fun people and some unexpected requests at our show in Corpus Christi tonight. Lots of dancers and people asking for songs like “Highwaymen” made the evening go by pretty fast. We’ll return for more tomorrow night at Old Kress Live.

Moonshine & Ale 12/5/24
I played bass for the first half of Live Band Karaoke tonight in New Braunfels, while Heather held down the drums. During break, we swapped instruments for the rest of our singers. Pancho joined us on guitar, and Denise was on piano. It was Wassailfest tonight, so the streets were closed off and they were packed with people strolling around for the various offerings outside. Our show was packed all night, and we had fun running though all the songs the crowd was singing with us. Oh, and tonight was Damon Curtis’ first time on stage, just like every other time.

Moonshine & Ale 11/30/24
Our Saturday night show went well in New Braunfels. The beginning of the night was dominated by football, but eventually one team lost and one team won. Part of the crowd was happy, part sad over whichever outcome affected them. I just played music through it all. Music brings people together even when sports are running division through folks. Heather sounded amazing, and she makes every show fun. Ryan Hall was on drums tonight at 10p, and he did great with keeping up with all the various tunes we threw at him. Go team!

Moonshine & Ale 11/29/24
Our show in New Braunfels tonight went well. Heather and I had an unusual selection of songs requested this evening, but we played as many as time allowed. I can’t remember the last time someone requested “For What It’s Worth”. We got it tonight, plus a whole slew of others. We will return tomorrow night for more!

Moonshine & Ale 11/27/24
Our pre-thanksgiving show was packed in New Braunfels. Heather was making me laugh tonight, and I was doing my best to make her laugh too. She sweetly told the crowd it was my birthday yesterday, and said some thoughtful things. She’s the best partner! Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Cheer Up Charlies 11/23/24
I played with the Long Lost Locals tonight in Austin, TX. It was my first time at Cheer Up Charlies, and they have a great outdoor stage. My buddy Nathan Hanners ran through a half hour of his original music as the opening act for another band he was playing with later in the evening. His bluesy rock tunes are fun. Phil was next to me on pedal steel, Kenny Felton back on drums, Micah Roark was on bass on the opposite end of the stage. It was a short but great show, and the guys sounded great. Thanks to Nathan for having me, and thanks to Christine for taking some pictures!
Moonshine Drinkery 11/22/24
I love when we get to perform for our friends in Victoria, TX. Heather and I played our piano and drums show, and we had some great requests. I was happy that my wife Christine came along with us, and she took some cool photos. I wasn’t feeling great before the show, but I perked up by the time we started playing. We had a lot of requests, which made the night fly by. We will return to Victoria at the end of March, so mark your calendars!

Moonshine & Ale 11/21/24
Heather and I played Live Band Karaoke tonight in New Braunfels, Texas, with the talented Pancho Garza on guitar, and fellow piano player, Julia Chisholm in from Boston for the weekend. Since Julia was there, Heather brought her bass, and it was fun getting to be the rhythm section with her. Heather and I will return to. Moonshine & Ale on Wednesday 11/27 for a special Thanksgiving eve show at 8:30 PM. Come out and request some songs!

Moonshine & Ale 11/16/24
We had an interesting night in New Braunfels. When we arrived, the club was packed with four huge groups of people celebrating different occasions. It was non-stop requests for the first two hours of our show! At 10p, Jay Wimberly joined us on drums. At 10:30p, two of the groups had party busses arrive to pick them up, which emptied half the room, and then a third party had to go at 11p. The last two hours had no cars parked outside and no one on the street. It was kinda like the Twilight Zone, but we still had fun with the people who stayed for every note of our show. I’ve never really seen a night like this one, but it was still a bunch of fun to perform with my friends. As a bonus, my nephew Josh came down to watch our show after having his first piano bar gig in Austin tonight! I’m a proud uncle.

Moonshine & Ale 11/15/24
We had a great time tonight in New Braunfels, TX! Our crowd gave us lots of great songs to play, and we had a few birthdays to celebrate, including a 21st. Heather makes me so happy. It doesn’t really feel like work when we’re together. She sounded great tonight!

Moonshine & Ale 11/14/24
Happy birthday to Morgan! She is one of the staff who we’ve been friends with for years, and we were so happy she brought her friends in tonight for some Live Band Karaoke! We had a couple of other birthdays in the house, and lots of great singers. Pancho and Heather sounded great, and I had a good time leading the band from the drums. Heather and I will return to Moonshine & Ale for piano bar both nights this weekend, so come request some tunes!

Goode Company Armadillo Palace 11/12/24
Zack Walther asked me to perform with him and Mathew Briggs in Houston, TX, for a private event. Zack called off songs for our hour-and-a-half show, and I had a great time performing with the two of them. At one point, we had a guest singer come up and do a couple of songs with us. It was a fun evening!

The Beltonian Theatre 11/09/24
We had a fantastic crowd in Belton, TX, tonight. They requested 10x the amount of songs time would allow. We both received standing ovations at a couple points during our show; one for Heather’s version of “Yeah”, and one for my version of “Ms Jackson” which was a song chosen randomly by a audience member from a stack of requests I fanned out. I love our Beltonian shows, and the crowd is always fun! Heather really impressed me tonight, too. She’s such a talented performer!

Moonshine & Ale 11/7/24
Live Band Karaoke was packed in New Braunfels tonight. Wurstfest was going on a few blocks away, and when it closed for the evening, our packed house got even packier! Heather played drums and I played keys, while our friend Pancho held down the guitar. We had some songs which got played multiple times, and other songs that no one ever sings, so it was a fun mix of tunes. I’m glad I get to play music with my friends for a living.

Old Kress Live 11/2/24
Thanks to Old Kress Live in Corpus Christi for having us perform on the first Friday and Saturday of each month. Heather and I made our way through all the requests tonight to a happy crowd. We had everything from Frank Sinatra to Taylor Swift brought up tonight. We'll be back in December, so come join us!

Old Kress Live 11/1/24
Heather and I had fun in Corpus Christi tonight! We had lots of requests and people up dancing a bunch which made us feel good. The later crowd was just there to chill, but they kept requesting songs right up until midnight when the DJ took over. We’ll be back tomorrow night for more requests!

Moonshine & Ale 10/31/24
Happy Halloween! Heather, Pancho and I played at Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels, TX, in costume as Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi. The costume contest took place after we had a bunch of people in costume come sing with us. A “Joey Ramone” sang “I Wanna Be Sedated”, and a guy dressed as a Devo band member did “Whip It”. It was a fun night, and I’m so lucky to be able to spend it with such good people!
