Moonshine & Ale 8/30/24

Heather and I had a great time together in New Braunfels, TX, tonight. She sang several duets with me, plus a bunch of other tunes which were all requested. We really can lean on each other (sometimes literally) during our shows, and we always support each other on and off stage. It makes our show so easy and strong! We will be back both Saturday night and Sunday night, so come see us. Also, happy 21st birthday to our door guy, Rich! We sang to him at midnight, and you should wish him a happy birthday if you come out to our shows this weekend.

Moonshine & Ale 8/29/24

I got back from a trip to Indiana today at about 2 PM, and Christine picked me up from the airport. I went home, unpacked, took a nap, and then Heather came over and we headed to New Braunfels, TX, for our show at Live Band Karaoke with Pancho Garza on guitar. On our way down, we saw the most unusual rainbow I’ve ever seen. It was off in the distance and looked like a solid wall. We had a great time at karaoke and had a few people return that we have not seen in several weeks. It was a very long day, but it was great seeing my parents this morning, and finishing the evening playing music with my friends.

Static Shack 8/26/24

While visiting my parents in Indianapolis, I was able to record some keys on a couple of new songs for my friend Duke Tumatoe. We met at the Static Shack where engineer Alan Johnson had everything sounding great before I got there, and he played the tracks Duke, Bill Ritter and Dawson Ouellette had previously laid down for me to listen to. After a few passes, we got some good takes, and I’m excited to hear the final versions. Both are cool blues tunes, (“You Know I Love You” & “When The Door Closes”), and I dig the way they are coming together. I had a bunch of fun catching up with the fellas and swapping some stories from over the past few years. I do miss performing with this group regularly! It was my first time meeting Dawson who is now Duke’s drummer. After the session, he joined Bill and I for a burger at Steak ‘n Shake, where we swapped some road stories. It was a good time!

Moonshine & Ale 8/24/24

I’m so grateful for being able to entertain hundreds of people every night. Heather and I never stop learning new things and playing new songs, and it makes each show a welcomed challenge. The crowd requested everything from Mulan to Sadé. At 10p, we were joined by drummer Ryan Hall, and he sounded great, as usual. On a break, I ran down the block to hear a couple of my buddies, Andre and Pancho, play with their band, and they were just coming off their break as well, so I took a quick picture. I really enjoy being surrounded by such talented people. We had a fun show tonight, and a great weekend all around with Heather. Heather and I will be back at Moonshine & Ale Thursday through Sunday next week (yes, Sunday there will be a show because of Labor Day) so come join us!

The Beltonian Theatre 8/23/24

We performed our monthly show in Belton tonight to quite a few new people and a bunch of returning fans, and it was fun! Heather always makes me smile, and the crowd loved every song she sang. I was impressed by the diversity in songs, with several never before requested. “We Are The World”, “Dentist” from “Little Shop Of Horrors” and “Magic Man” are a few stand-outs. Thanks again to the Beltonian for having us regularly!

Moonshine & Ale 8/22/24

I drove Heather and I down to New Braunfels tonight early so we could see some talented friends of ours play some jazz just down the street from our gig. We’ve worked before with Brett (piano) and Pancho (guitar) at Moonshine & Ale. I’ve also done a few gigs with Dane (bass) filling in for Brett, so it was nice to hear them perform. We headed to our gig where we met up with guitarist Kevin Humphrey to play Live Band Karaoke. Kevin let us know that his wife is expecting, so a huge congratulations to my buddy and his family! We had a great crowd and lots of singers, including a bunch of the staff who joined us for a song. Heather and I are performing at the in Belton, TX, at the Beltonian Theatre Friday night, and we’ll be back at Moonshine & Ale on Saturday. Come see us!

Moonshine & Ale 8/17/24

From “Some Kind Of Wonderful” to “Pink Pony Club”, the requests were wildly varied and fun in New Braunfels tonight. Heather and I closed out our three-night stint at Moonshine & Ale with a bang! She is a joy, and I’m always excited to see what songs one of us will play and impress the other. Zack Carreon played drums great with us tonight, and Heather and I did our best to not throw him under the bus with all the random songs we pulled out this evening!

Moonshine & Ale 8/15/24

I met up with my buddy Pancho at Guitar Center before the show tonight over at Moonshine & Ale in New Braunfels. We got a chance to catch up a bit before we headed over to play for Live Band Karaoke. Heather met us at the club, and she started the night on keys, and moved to drums on break. I did the opposite, and Pancho was on guitar all night. We had a great time together. Heather and I will be back all weekend for piano bar!

Moonshine & Ale 8/10/24

I can’t help but have fun at shows with Heather! We really love hanging together, and there’s just nothing like making music together. Tonight was another good night in New Braunfels, TX. It’s rare when we get tunes like “Octopuses Garden” or “Cotton Eyed Joe”, but tonight, we had a bunch like this. Zach joined us on drums at 10p, and did a great job keeping up with all the songs we threw at him. Life is good.

Moonshine & Ale 8/9/24

We had a seriously good crowd tonight in New Braunfels, TX! People were celebrating with birthdays, bachelorette and bachelor parties. I had been up all night due to a routine medical check up today, so I wasn’t sure how I’d feel, but I had more energy than usual because the crowd was so involved. I know I say it regularly, But it’s worth repeating; I love playing with Heather. We make such a great team, and we feed off of each other’s energy every night. Right at the end of the night, our buddy Pancho came in from a show he was playing across the street and he took this fun picture of us from the front. Thanks, Pancho!

Moonshine & Ale 8/8/24

We had a smaller crowd tonight for Live Band Karaoke, but we still had plenty of singer take the stage with us. Heather and I along with Kevin on guitar played the backing music for everyone as we do regularly on Thursday nights in New Braunfels. We found out one of our regulars is moving to Virginia. I’m glad she came back out tonight for one last Karaoke track before she moves!

Old Kress Live 8/3/24

Old Kress Live in Corpus Christi celebrated their one-year anniversary tonight! Congratulations to the staff and owners for getting such a cool spot up and running. Heather and I played from 9p-midnight to a nonstop flow of people. This was our fourth show in three days, and after driving three hour home after the show, I think I’m ready for bed.

La Palmera Mall 8/3/24

The stage in the food court of La Palmera Mall is where we performed today from 2p-4p. It was great! Obviously, it was less sing-along than we normally hear, but that’s because everyone was eating and enjoying our music. We had a bunch of requests, and met several new fans. Tonight, we’re performing for the one-year anniversary at Old Kress Live, so we made sure to tell everyone at the mall, and had several people tell us they would come to see us. Also, it was great today looking up at the people watching from the balcony! Heather and I enjoy performing with each other so much. It makes me happy when we do some different types gigs like this one. We hope to be invited back to La Palmera soon!

Old Kress Live 8/2/24

First Fridays means we’re in Corpus Christi! The First Fridays events are always a good time, with loads of street vendors, artists, food and music, and interesting things to see like spots with a bunch of customized Spyders in a row. We love the staff at Old Kress, and the owners, Kristin and Amos, are the best. We had a bunch of fans out, and met a bunch of new people. Tomorrow, we will perform at La Palmera mall from 2p until 4p, and then we’re back at Old Kress Live to celebrate their one year anniversary from 10p until 1a!

Moonshine & Ale 8/1/24

The first day of August found Heather and I in new Braunfels, TX, with guitarist “Pancho” Garza For Live Band Karaoke. We had a lot of familiar faces in the crowd tonight, and everyone was picking songs that they don’t normally do, which is fun for us. We backed up everyone as they sang songs by artists, such as Queen, Toby Keith, Wild Cherry, Garth Brooks, and so many more. Heather and I will be heading to Corpus Christi for shows this weekend, so if you’re in the area come see us at Old Kress Live or La Palmera Mall!
