Old Kress Live 4/4/25
Heather and I talked after our show in Corpus Christi tonight about how good our crowd was. We had longtime fans and made some new fans as we played everyone’s requests. We brought a new drum set with us, and we both enjoyed playing it tonight as well. It’s good to have fun with your friends!

Moonshine & Ale 4/3/25
I got a chance to play my new bass tonight at Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels. Heather and I both got home from vacation this week, and it was so good to play with her again. Pancho and I also had a bunch of fun playing next to each other and doing total rock star moves all night. Denise filled in on keys, and we had another full house of singers. One of our regulars who sings with us anytime he and his wife are in town from Boston were celebrating their 50th anniversary which was so great to hear! At the end of the night, the manager Trent who has been a good friend at the club for quite a while let us know that it was his last night, which bummed us out a bit, but ultimately it’s a good thing because he’s doing it to be with family more, so we totally understand. We’ll miss him for sure!

Kissing Tree 3/28/25
This afternoon, I played a dueling pianos show with Josh Holmes (Heather is on vacation). It was for an open house at Kissing Tree in San Marcos, so there were lots of people enjoying all the amenities they have there, while Josh and I took their requests and had some fun for Happy Hour. This marked the first dueling show I’ve played with my nephew (although we have played several other types of shows together in the past). It was a fun afternoon!
Moonshine & Ale 3/27/25
Heather took some vacation time, so Pancho and I played Live Band Karaoke with Denise tonight in New Braunfels. We had tons of singers cycle through the stage, singing everything from Beatles to Backstreet Boys. Thanks to everyone who made it out tonight!

The Beltonian Theatre 3/22/25
We had a great crowd tonight in Belton, TX! We had birthdays and a lot of singers and dancing in the audience. The number of requests hitting our piano was impressive, and we had so much fun playing lots of songs which don’t get requested often. Many folks there who were seeing our show for the first time made sure to talk to us after our performance to let us know not only how much they enjoyed the show, but also the obvious connection Heather and I have on stage. It really is nice to hear when people notice our chemistry. It’s something neither Heather nor I take for granted. We always get asked if we’re married, and tonight was no different except my wife Christine was standing behind them because she was taking pictures for us tonight, so we I got a good laugh with both of my wives.

Moonshine Drinkery 3/21/25
Heather and I played in our old stomping grounds in Victoria, TX, at Moonshine Drinkery tonight. We always love visiting with all of our friends on staff there, as well as the friends who come to watch the show. We played our three-hour, non-stop show, and it was full of interesting requests as always. It was a packed house for our whole show, which made us happy to see the bar doing so well. We will be back in Victoria in June!

Moonshine & Ale 3/20/25
Live Band Karaoke was packed in New Braunfels tonight. We had lots of friends of the band in the crowd, and it was nice having a bunch of them come sing with us. A couple of our regulars, Lisa and Tasha, are singers in a band called “Brown Sugar”, which just celebrated their 50th year anniversary! Congratulations!

Moonshine & Ale 3/17/25
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! We performed in New Braunfels tonight to a sea of green-dressed people. Since it was. Monday, the club asked us to perform earlier than usual, so we started at 6pm tonight. We were going to wrap up at 9:30p, but there were so many people out having a good time that the club asked us to keep going, so we played an extra 2-hours, bringing our stage time up to 5.5 hours! Heather and I kept the energy up, and played an endless stream of requests. It was a bunch of fun, but also exhausting, so I’ll probably sleep all day tomorrow. It was really great to see lots of our fans out celebrating the holiday with us!

Moonshine & Ale 3/15/25
New Braunfels was full of party people tonight! Heather and I were blown away by the amount of people that were there before we even took the stage. Everyone was in great spirits! Ryan Hall joined us at 10 PM on the drums, and the room stayed full all the way up until 1 AM when the bar closed. It was a good show and a lot of fun, and Heather and I will return for a special Monday show at 6 PM.

Moonshine & Ale 3/14/25
Heather makes me happy at shows. We had a bunch of fun playing the crowd’s requests tonight, and many unusual ones. We both played a bunch of songs we’d never tried before tonight. It’s good to know I have a strong partner who always has my back!

Moonshine & Ale 3/13/25
Live Band Karaoke was packed tonight, although when we first started, there was only a couple tables full. It picked up very quickly once we started, and Heather, Pancho and I had fun with some songs people don’t choose often. After the show, the lunar eclipse was just starting, so when I got home, I sat in a lawn chair in my driveway for about an hour watching the golden moon turn to a crimson red. Pretty cool post gig show!

Old Kress Live 3/8/25
Our Saturday night show went well in Corpus Christi! We had some unusual requests. One I’ve never had before came up tonight. “Rattled” by The Traveling Wilburys wasn’t one I expected, but we played it for an appreciative couple, Now, we’re heading home, and with “spring forward”, I guess I won’t be getting to bed until after 5am today!

Old Kress Live 3/7/25
Owners Amos and Kristen were at Old Kress Live in Corpus Christi tonight inside their new “Friends” themed speakeasy in the hallway behind the stage. They went all out to make it feel like Central Perk, down to the dishes and lamps! It’s very cool. Heather and I had a fun show tonight. It’s good when the crowd is responsive. We’ll be back for our Saturday night show!

Moonshine & Ale 3/6/25
Live Band Karaoke went well last night in New Braunfels. Heather, Pancho, and I had some time before and after the show to talk about what we did this week. Pancho played a show out in California, while Heather and I got a chance to play with bassist Bill Ritter. After we talked about things a bit, we launched into our show and had lots of fun backing up singers right up until midnight. Will be back next Thursday for more Live Band Karaoke!

Moonshine & Ale 3/1/25
Heather and I played our second of two shows today in New Braunfels (after our DanHolmesGroup show in San Marcos this afternoon). It was a busy night at Moonshine & Ale. Jay Russell drummed for us tonight at 10pm, which gave me the chance to play some keytar. Both of our shows were lots of fun, and I’m so happy that I regularly get to perform at shows where I can make hundreds of people happy while performing with one of my bestest buddies. Heather rocks!
Zellick’s Icehouse 3/1/25
DanHolmesGroup played 4:30p-6p at Zellick’s in San Marcos for their Mardi Gras celebration! We performed right after Ton Of Brass, and we enjoyed their set. I was so happy to perform with Bill Ritter again on bass, Roger Glenn on drums, and Heather Shook singing some harmonies with me while she played some percussion. These are the shows I love. Great friends playing fun music for a very appreciative audience. Thanks to Zellick’s for including us in the show, and thanks to my wife Christine for taking lots of great photos. Hopefully, I’ll have some video of the show to post soon!

Moonshine & Ale 2/28/25
We played in New Braunfels, TX, tonight. The crowd brought us a bunch of requests. One of my favorite tunes “What A Wonderful World” was requested, so I played it for a woman in the front row. A couple songs went by, and she came up the piano while I was in the middle of a song and began shuffling through my requests, looked upset, then sat down. After I finished that song, I asked Heather to talk to the crowd and I got the woman’s attention to see what was wrong. She quickly got a waitress’s attention, paid their bill, and left with her husband. After the show, we asked the waitress what was wrong. She told us the woman was very upset that we played her request and then put the tip she left with the song into our tip jar. I’m so confused. To be clear, she was upset that we DID play her song and put her tip into our jar. Everyone else had a great time and told us how much they loved our show. One guy even came up after a song to tell me how good Heather and I sound together. I told him it’s easy when you love who you play with!

Moonshine & Ale 2/27/25
Bill Ritter came to visit from Indiana, so he joined us for Live Band Karaoke tonight in New Braunfels. Pancho, Heather and I loved having him perform with us! We had a great night full of singers singing songs like “Pour Some Sugar On Me”, “Tennessee Whiskey”, “Brown Eyed Girl” and many more. It was a very fun show!

The Beltonian Theatre 2/22/25
What a fun night! Heather and I played our monthly show in Belton, TX, tonight, and the crowd consisted of about 50% fans and 50% new people. We loved the wide variety of requests from “Let It Go” to “Solsbury Hill” to “True Colors” to “Pretty Fly For A White Guy” and everything in between. Christine came to the show with us and took a bunch of great pictures, too. We really do love our crowds, and we’re always happy to see so many familiar faces as we take the stage. Thank you to everyone who braved to cold and rain to come see our show.
