The Beltonian Theatre 10/12/24

Happy birthday to my super-talented partner Heather! The crowd at the theater helped me sing to her tonight at our show. We had lots of cool requests ranging from Dolly Parton to Snoop Dogg. I was shocked that I remembered “I’m Alright” by Kenny Loggins, but I did watch Caddyshack a couple of weeks ago, so I got that going for me. Thank you to the fun crowd at our show tonight, and we hope you’ll join us next month at The Beltonian!

Moonshine & Ale 10/11/24

Moonshine & Ale had us back tonight to take requests like we do, and it was a fun time. Heather played the most Chappell Roan requests that we’ve seen, and I played one, too. We had some things requested we rarely get as well like “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” and “Whip It” and quite a few more. Heather’s birthday rolled in at midnight, so we closed the show with me singing “Happy Birthday” to her over “Closing Time”, which is what she was playing on the piano. She’s pretty awesome.

Moonshine & Ale 10/10/24

I drummed at Live Band Karaoke tonight in New Braunfels, and my partner Heather played keys. Pancho sounded great on guitar, and the three of us had fun backing up the singers tonight. We started off to only a few tables, but within a half-hour we were packed! It was good seeing all the new people mixing in with our regulars. One of our regulars stopped me on break, pointed to my shirt, and said, “Those Telly Tail Tubs? They go space now?” Gotta love it.

Camp Waldemar 10/5/24

We played a wedding after-party in Hunt, TX, tonight. It was a late night event where we performed from 11:15p until 12:45a. The bride and groom, plus their families and friends were so much fun with lots of energy. Heather and I had quite a bit of time before we performed, so we had some fun looking around the property together. It was a really cool and unusual venue.

Old Kress Live 10/4/24

We had a good night in Corpus Christi for our monthly show at Old Kress Live. The place was decorated for Halloween, which made us both happy. We had several people celebrating different things tonight, and one woman was so happy that I played her song that she grabbed my hands and thanked me while crying tears of joy. Those moments make this all worth it.

Moonshine & Ale 10/3/24

Tonight was my first show back after an Alaskan vacation, and it was fun to be onstage again with Pancho and Heather. We did our regular 8:30p-midnight Live Band Karaoke show with lots of willing singers. I was wearing a t-shirt tonight I bought on vacation, and afterwards, two women came up and asked if they could take a picture with me because they both just drove down from where they live in Seward, AK! By the way, my shirt says, “Everything‘s bigger in Texas… until you’re in Alaska”.

The Beltonian Theatre 9/13/24

I have so much fun with Heather! She stopped at my house to carpool to Belton, and I took a great picture of my wives. Thanks to Chance for letting me co-spouse. Ha! We had a great time with the people at the Beltonian Theatre. Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Dolly Parton, Ray Stevens, Dusty Springfield, Chappell Roan and so many other artist’s songs were requested, and we played as many as time allowed. I’m taking a couple weeks off, but you can catch Heather in New Braunfels while I’m out. See you in a couple weeks!

Moonshine & Ale 9/12/24

I had fun at Live Band Karaoke with Heather and Kevin tonight. One lady stopped me on break and asked if we only brought up people we knew could sing. I didn’t quite understand, so after some questions, I found out she was saying everyone who took the stage sounded like a professional to her. I told her it was just the people who signed up to sing, and not affiliated with the band. She was impressed. We had many fans come sing with us tonight, and that makes me happy.

Old Kress Live 9/7/24

There’s not a bad seat in the house in Corpus Christi with our show on a couple of big screens above the bar! The staff is always so sweet to us, and we try our best to make the show a fun time for them as well as the crowd. We played from 10p-1a, and after we finished playing everyone’s requests, we packed up and headed back to San Marcos.

Old Kress Live 9/6/24

We love our fans! Kinsey showed up wearing our band shirt, and Amanda tolerated it! They really are fun, and gave me a huge compliment tonight by requesting a song I wrote called “It’s You”. Heather sang her verse from the drums, which made me happy because we’ve never played it together. First Fridays Artwalk in Corpus Christi are always fun! We walked around a bit and bought a few LPs before the show, and did a photo opp with Jason.

Moonshine & Ale 9/5/24

When we arrived to set up in New Braunfels, I was a little worried because the bar was empty. I should know better because by the time we took the stage and got things started at Live Band Karaoke, the club packed out. Heather and I always enjoy all of the regulars who join us, and also when we meet new people! Kevin Humphrey was on guitar as Heather and I swapped between keys and drums. It was a good night!

Moonshine & Ale 9/1/24

Heather and I played a Sunday show tonight in New Braunfels since many people have tomorrow off work for Labor Day. Thanks to everyone for hanging out with us and requesting such great music. We had many returning faces from other shows this weekend which made us happy. One guy at the end made it a point to tell us how impressed he was with our musicianship. It’s that type of stuff that makes the show worth it!

Moonshine & Ale 8/31/24

It was a crazy night in New Braunfels! We had a packed house, and so many requests to perform. Jarrett Wenzel played drums with us and sounded great. Heather and I have had some fun over the past three nights at Moonshine & Ale, and we have one more show Sunday night due to the holiday weekend, so come see us!

Moonshine & Ale 8/30/24

Heather and I had a great time together in New Braunfels, TX, tonight. She sang several duets with me, plus a bunch of other tunes which were all requested. We really can lean on each other (sometimes literally) during our shows, and we always support each other on and off stage. It makes our show so easy and strong! We will be back both Saturday night and Sunday night, so come see us. Also, happy 21st birthday to our door guy, Rich! We sang to him at midnight, and you should wish him a happy birthday if you come out to our shows this weekend.

Moonshine & Ale 8/29/24

I got back from a trip to Indiana today at about 2 PM, and Christine picked me up from the airport. I went home, unpacked, took a nap, and then Heather came over and we headed to New Braunfels, TX, for our show at Live Band Karaoke with Pancho Garza on guitar. On our way down, we saw the most unusual rainbow I’ve ever seen. It was off in the distance and looked like a solid wall. We had a great time at karaoke and had a few people return that we have not seen in several weeks. It was a very long day, but it was great seeing my parents this morning, and finishing the evening playing music with my friends.

Static Shack 8/26/24

While visiting my parents in Indianapolis, I was able to record some keys on a couple of new songs for my friend Duke Tumatoe. We met at the Static Shack where engineer Alan Johnson had everything sounding great before I got there, and he played the tracks Duke, Bill Ritter and Dawson Ouellette had previously laid down for me to listen to. After a few passes, we got some good takes, and I’m excited to hear the final versions. Both are cool blues tunes, (“You Know I Love You” & “When The Door Closes”), and I dig the way they are coming together. I had a bunch of fun catching up with the fellas and swapping some stories from over the past few years. I do miss performing with this group regularly! It was my first time meeting Dawson who is now Duke’s drummer. After the session, he joined Bill and I for a burger at Steak ‘n Shake, where we swapped some road stories. It was a good time!

Moonshine & Ale 8/24/24

I’m so grateful for being able to entertain hundreds of people every night. Heather and I never stop learning new things and playing new songs, and it makes each show a welcomed challenge. The crowd requested everything from Mulan to Sadé. At 10p, we were joined by drummer Ryan Hall, and he sounded great, as usual. On a break, I ran down the block to hear a couple of my buddies, Andre and Pancho, play with their band, and they were just coming off their break as well, so I took a quick picture. I really enjoy being surrounded by such talented people. We had a fun show tonight, and a great weekend all around with Heather. Heather and I will be back at Moonshine & Ale Thursday through Sunday next week (yes, Sunday there will be a show because of Labor Day) so come join us!

The Beltonian Theatre 8/23/24

We performed our monthly show in Belton tonight to quite a few new people and a bunch of returning fans, and it was fun! Heather always makes me smile, and the crowd loved every song she sang. I was impressed by the diversity in songs, with several never before requested. “We Are The World”, “Dentist” from “Little Shop Of Horrors” and “Magic Man” are a few stand-outs. Thanks again to the Beltonian for having us regularly!

Moonshine & Ale 8/22/24

I drove Heather and I down to New Braunfels tonight early so we could see some talented friends of ours play some jazz just down the street from our gig. We’ve worked before with Brett (piano) and Pancho (guitar) at Moonshine & Ale. I’ve also done a few gigs with Dane (bass) filling in for Brett, so it was nice to hear them perform. We headed to our gig where we met up with guitarist Kevin Humphrey to play Live Band Karaoke. Kevin let us know that his wife is expecting, so a huge congratulations to my buddy and his family! We had a great crowd and lots of singers, including a bunch of the staff who joined us for a song. Heather and I are performing at the in Belton, TX, at the Beltonian Theatre Friday night, and we’ll be back at Moonshine & Ale on Saturday. Come see us!

Moonshine & Ale 8/17/24

From “Some Kind Of Wonderful” to “Pink Pony Club”, the requests were wildly varied and fun in New Braunfels tonight. Heather and I closed out our three-night stint at Moonshine & Ale with a bang! She is a joy, and I’m always excited to see what songs one of us will play and impress the other. Zack Carreon played drums great with us tonight, and Heather and I did our best to not throw him under the bus with all the random songs we pulled out this evening!
