Green Door 1/30/15

I got a text earlier today from a fellow piano player who fell ill, and he asked me to cover his gig in Temple, Texas tonight, which I did with Joe Resnick on the drums. We had a very fun, interactive crowd, and they were bringing up requests all night long. Joe is a machine, and I always have a good time performing shows with him!

Superfly's 1/30/15

DanHolmesGroup performed an hour of original music tonight in San Marcos, Texas at my favorite local record store! I had a fantastic time performing with Chris Wallis (drums), Ian Lee (guitar) and Kevin Humphrey (bass). Those are three very talented guys. We had a good crowd, and the store sold several copies of my album, "Something's Going Down". Thanks for all the support, San Marcos!

AJ's Ale House 1/29/15

This morning started with me driving to Austin to have The Hill Country Gentlemen's new album mastered. Then, I had lunch with my wife, and ended my Austin trip with a massage at Mantis. I came home at about 5pm and plopped down on the couch until it was time to head to New Braunfels for my request piano show. I'm glad the people were interactive with me, because I was a little tired by the end of the evening!

Taxi's Piano Bar 2/24/15

Brad Evilsizer made it to my hometown of San Marcos, Texas tonight to join me in an all-request piano/drum show in my favorite basement bar. It was easily the busiest night I've ever experienced at Taxi's, and we played a long show because of the crowd. So many songs, I lost count. Must've been in the thousands, because that's what it felt like!

AJ's Ale House 1/23/15

New Braunfels, Texas was busy tonight. Roger Glenn and I performed for a big crowd and they danced a bunch. They weren't super interactive, but requests flowed over the piano all night, so I know they were listening. Roger sounded great, and I'll be back at AJ's Ale House on Thursday!

AJ's Ale House 1/22/15

My night in New Braunfels started with a little rain, and a lot of requests. I had a few people ask me if I was the same guy without a beard, and I told them I'm the same guy with or without a beard. Drunk people are fun to mess with.

AJ's Ale House 1/17/14

Vince Mejia and I performed to a packed club in New Braunfels tonight. There was an amazing amount of requests brought to the piano! We played everything from Blues Traveler's "Hook" to the Beatles "Helter Skelter". I haven't done a show with Vince in a while, and it was nice to share the stage with him again. If you haven't seen him, you're missing out on a solid player!

AJ's Ale House 1/15/15

People were full of compliments tonight in New Braunfels, Texas! Made me feel good each time they'd come up to the stage just to drop a few bucks in my jar and say they loved me. Lots of dancing and good vibes all around.

LUX Lounge 1/11/15

From 4p-8p, Chris Wallis and I played in Austin, Texas. The first hour was very slow because of all the sports on all the TVs in all the bars, but things picked up as the sun went down. We had some dancers, requests for random Billy Joel tunes, and overall, it turned out to be a nice night!

Taxi's Piano Bar 1/9/15

Because the one and only Brad Evilsizer joined me in San Marcos tonight for a request piano show, I was able to let one audience member play more cowbell for "Don't Fear The Reaper". Brad travels with bell of cow, whereas I do not. We had fun in the basement tonight, celebrating a couple birthdays and random dance tunes. Thanks for hanging out with us, everyone!

AJ's Ale House 1/8/15

Cold all over the country, and New Braunfels, Texas was no exception! The folks who braved the weather kept pretty bundled up while I performed their requested songs. I saw lots of unfamiliar faces tonight, many of which told me it was their first time in New Braunfels. I had a good show, went home, and bundled up!!

AJ's Ale House 1/3/15

In New Braunfels tonight, Joe Resnick and I played on the newly elevated stage to a packed house! The stage was raised about 8", and it allows everyone, even people in the very back, to see us. I like it, and the crowd seemed to like it, too. We had an amazing amount of requests all night, and even though I played one right after the other, I still had a pile I couldn't get to. Everyone seemed to have a great time, and I'll be back next Thursday!

AJ's Ale House 1/1/15

New Year's Day, 2015, I found myself back at AJ's Ale House in New Braunfels, playing to a small, but very attentive crowd! They danced, sang, and requested tunes all night long, and it ended up being one of the best Thursday nights in recent memory. Like A Prayer? Check. Enter Sandman? Check. Africa? Check. Many other random tunes? Check, check, check, check....

AJ's Ale House 12/31/14

Happy New Year! Chris Wallis and I rang in the new year with a full house (including my wife, brother, and sister-in-law) in New Braunfels. The requests filled the piano early and a steady flow kept it full all night. It has been a pleasure working with Chris in 2014, and I look forward to many more shows with him in 2015!
