HEB 7/31/15

First of my two shows today took place with some of my favorite people at H-E-B in San Marcos, Texas. DanHolmesGroup featuring Chris Wallis, Kevin Humphrey, and Ian Lee played for two hours on the patio. We had a nice little group hanging out with us, plus lots of people inside listening to our funky sound. Lots of familiar faces, two, which always makes me happy. I love playing with these guys! Now, I'm headed to San Antonio to play a night of request piano music with Mikey Gammon on drums.

Moonshine & Ale 7/30/15

The new PA was up-and-running tonight in New Braunfels, and it sounded great! Folks throughout the club could hear every word I said to them, which was great for when I'd call people to the stage or ask them to sing along. Good group of people out tonight!

Moonshine & Ale 7/25/15

Dave Lovett took everyone's requests tonight on the piano in New Braunfels while I held down the drums. Several bachelorette parties came in to hang out with us, and they were all great sports. They did everything Dave told them to do! Fun night all around. It was great playing with Dave again!

Moonshine & Ale 7/24/15

Michael Gammon and I had a great night with lots of requests and general craziness. Most everyone was well behaved (except for the obligatory 21 year olds who have yet to learn manners) but even they calmed down and participated in the show. Mikey did a drum solo, and the crowd went nuts! Lots of fun with lots of people, and tomorrow night, I'll be back in New Braunfels, this time playing drums!

Moonshine & Ale 7/23/15

We didn't pack out tonight in New Braunfels, but all night long we had a steady stream of people through the doors, all of them requesting tunes and dancing to their songs! I had some old fans come back in tonight who I haven't seen in months, and they brought in new friends who are now new fans. Ah, the circle of life is beautiful.

Moonshine & Ale 7/18/15

There were so many dancers tonight in New Braunfels, I don't know where to begin. We had disco queens, twerkers, line dancers, rock-a-billy couples, and one young guy who somehow kept getting his leg up on an older woman's shoulder. I don't know what Mikey Gammon and I did to provoke such gyrations, but it made our night fun!

Cheatham Street Warehouse 7/17/15

Chris Wallis played drums tonight with The Hill Country Gentlemen for the Hill Country Formal benefiting Victor & Caitlan Holk (who were badly injured in a house fire). We played for an hour at 10pm, and were followed by the Shady Rest Band, as well as many other talented acts before and after. It was really fantastic to hang out with bunches of people who I haven't seen in a while. I had a great time, and had a rare chance to dance with my wife after The Gent's set! She also took a bunch of great photos of us. Thanks, Christine!

HEB 7/17/15

Attention HEB shoppers; The Hill Country Gentlemen had a great show on the patio today. We played a couple hours for the folks in the heat. Chris Wallis filled in on drums and we all locked in great. Now, we're all headed to Cheatham Street Warehouse to perform an evening show!

Moonshine & Ale 7/16/15

A fun crowd came out to the show tonight in New Braunfels. A weight lifter taught a bunch of teachers how to dance. Yeah. That's right. And you missed it. Sorry 'bout cha.

Four Seasons 7/14/15

Great show this evening with The Hill Country Gentlemen in beautiful downtown Austin, Texas! We performed our show from 5:30p-8:30p on the lawn just outside of the restaurant. Jeremiah, Kevin and I took turns singing a bunch of tunes for the crowd, while Clay held down a steady rhythm on drums. Thanks to the Four Seasons for having us today!

Four Seasons 7/11/15

I had a fantastic time performing with Matt Wilson in Dallas, Texas this evening for a private event for "Team Texas" at the Four Seasons hotel. The crowd loved hanging out in our piano lounge, and they were singing and dancing throughout the evening. Matt's an easy guy to work with, and the crowd told us how much they enjoyed the show after we finished. Thank you to Team Texas for having us!

Taxi's Piano Bar 7/10/15

For my second three-hour show of the evening, I headed to San Marcos to Taxi's to play with the man himself, Taxi. We had a good crowd with weird requests. Not a "Brown Eyed Girl" or a "Jack & Diane" was brought up all night. "Follow you, Follow Me", "If It Makes You Happy", and "Dirty Laundry" were some of the tunes brought up in between about six birthdays.

McAdoo's Seafood 7/10/15

Kevin Humphrey and I played three hours of fun, original tunes and some New Orleans classics this evening in New Braunfels. It was my first time performing at the delicious restaurant, and I had a great time. Kevin and I lock in well together, and I enjoyed playing a rare duo gig with him. We laughed when we saw no "Group" added on the music board.

Moonshine & Ale 7/9/15

Tonight in New Braunfels, the show began with a very small crowd, but it grew over the course of the three-hour show to be a pretty large group. Dancing began with one 40-year-old-birthday-boy and didn't stop for an hour. Highly entertaining!

Zelick's Ice House 7/5/15

The Hill Country Gentlemen played in San Marcos today from 3p-6p. It was a hot one, but we still played a cool show! I love when I get to perform with the Gents. I had several people come out to the show who only knew me from either DanHolmesGroup or my request-piano shows, and they all agreed that the Gents are a great band! See ya at the next one!

Moonshine & Ale 7/4/15

Independence Day was truly fun in New Braunfels with Mikey Gammon tonight! We had an amazing crowd, and they were there to sing their hearts out. Of course, many patriotic songs were requested, but also random tunes like "Mysterious Ways" by U2, "Hook" by Blues Traveler, and "Long Tall Sally" by Little Richard. We played them all for the curtious and appreciative crowd. Mikey sounded great, as usual, and it was cool getting to see the fireworks with him before the show!

Canyon Lake 7/4/15

My first show this evening was on drums, backing up T-Bone and the Bluetones at a private house party on Canyon Lake. Ruben Colon was on trombone, Noel "Doc" Vickers was on saxophone, Eric Gard played the guitar, and Jimmy Hartman played the bass. It was a beautiful setting for an evening of blues. Now, I'm headed to New Braunfels to play a request piano show at Moonshine & Ale!

Taxi's Piano Bar 7/3/15

I woke up this morning in Texarkana, drove home, and then went to Taxi's in San Marcos to play a request show with the man himself, Taxi Haskell. We had a good crowd, and several good requests. I'm pretty tired after a long drive and a long show, so I think I'll stay in bed most of the day tomorrow.

Flatwater Restaurant 6/30/15

Another fantastic show happened tonight with DanHolmesGroup! Broad Ripple in Indianapolis, Indiana was the scene of the gig, and I had lots of people out for my show. Bill Ritter (bass) and Steve Brunner (drums) always put a smile on my face when I get to perform with them, and tonight was no exception. This gig was the third of three shows before I head home to Texas, and it couldn't have been nicer. Thank you to the staff of Flatwater for opening your stage on a Tuesday night for us!
