Howl At The Moon 7/30/17

Purple Rain and many other songs were played tonight in San Antonio. Purple Rain and other songs were also good for getting the crowd to sing along. Purple Rain and some other tunes were also danced to. Purple Rain is the only song I remember playing tonight.

Moonshine & Ale 7/29/17

Packed house again tonight in New Braunfels! I brought my keytar to fool around with throughout the evening, and we had some shiny moments with it. I had a great time playing with the fellas tonight. This was my second gig of the day, and it was a great way to end my night!

Farmer's Market 7/29/17

DanHolmesGroup played the San Marcos farmer's market today on the square! Roger Glenn & Kevin Humphrey helped me play some funky New Orleans classics and a bunch of my original songs while people went shopping for fresh veggies on a 100 degree morning. We were fortunately in the shade of a building, so it was pleasant. The day did start with a little scare as my wife injured her foot moments before we headed out the door. Thankfully, it wasn't too serious, so after making sure she was ok, she came to the show and even took photos for us! Now it's time for a nap before tonight's gig in New Braunfels...

Moonshine & Ale 7/28/17

Heather Ray and I played in New Braunfels tonight! We did the 'ole switcheroo between drums and piano all night. The crowd was bringing up some strange tunes, but we played them anyway. It was a fun night, and I'm glad I got to play another show with Heather again!

Howl At The Moon 7/26/17

I filled in down in San Antonio on a good Wednesday night! Ryan, Hailey, Katie & I took requests all evening. Before the night was over, some other Howl players showed up to hang out, and they witnessed a man who paid the stage fee to sing "Walking In Memphis" and killed it by changing all the words to suit his conditions. I loved it!

Moonshine & Ale 7/22/17

The amazing Danny Smith and drum machine Joe Resnick played with me tonight in New Braunfels! We had a huge crowd full of folks with random musical tastes. The best part of the night was no matter what song we played, the crowd sang along. Everything from Kansas to Tu Pac, the crowd filled in. Gotta say, playing with Danny and Joe made for a fun night!

Moonshine & Ale 7/21/17

Amazing! Astounding! Incredible! Excelsior! I watched some Marvel Movie trailers before I  headed to New Braunfels to play with Heather Ray, but the words seemed relevant to my mood. We had a good crowd and a never-ending stream of requests, and our show was described by a very nice couple after the show as "better than the Howl At The Moon" show (which is funny, because that's how I met Heather a few years ago). I enjoyed the show with Heather, and I'll return tomorrow night for another round!

Howl At The Moon 7/20/17

It was a fairly busy Thursday night in San Antonio. I was called in at the last minute to cover for a sick player, and by the end of the night, another player went home sick! Think I'll go home and mainline some vitamin C. Show went great, and I had fun performing with Denise, Hailey, Michael and Karli!

Howl At The Moon 7/19/17

I filled in tonight in San Antonio at Howl At The Moon. I performed with Denise, Katie and Ryan to a good Wednesday night crowd. I didn't stop believing tonight, sweet child of mine, but I did play a bunch of requests. See you again sometime soon!

Moonshine & Ale 7/13/17

I played key-bass tonight in New Braunfels for Live Band Karaoke. Mark Tokach (guitar), John Tuck (keys) and Amy Behrman (drums) all were fantastic to perform with, and we all pulled together as one rock-solid team, even though it was everyone's first night performing at Karaoke! The crowd really supported each singer we had as they finished their songs. Thanks, New Braunfels people, for a great night!

Moonshine & Ale 7/8/17

New Braunfels was crazy tonight. We had them packed in as we ran through all our requests. Chris Wallis (drums) joined David Lee and I as we swapped off piano duties. Lots of excitement from the crowd as we played all the songs they were asking us for. Thanks for being such pros, Chris & David! You made my evening fun!

Moonshine Drinkery 7/6/17

We had some fun requests in Victoria, Texas tonight. I brought my new Yamaha drums for Chris Wallis to play, and as soon as he set up, someone asked for "In The Air Tonight" to hear him play those new toms! He rocked it, of course. We also played a few tunes for the first time together tonight, which still amazes me to think that there are songs that we haven't played together!

Tantra Coffeehouse 7/4/17

Happy Independence Day! Drummer Noel "Doc" Vickers joined us for our Fourth of July show in San Marcos, Texas tonight. I always have a good time performing with Ian Lee (guitar) and Kevin Humphrey (bass), and it was equally as fun to have Doc with us. He's a solid player and handled everything I threw at him with style. With nothing but love from the crowd, we finished the night just after the fireworks were going off from a couple miles away! Thanks goes out to Christine Barton-Holmes for the great photos.

Rockey's Piano Bar 7/1/17

I had a bunch of fun with Chris Wallis in Round Rock tonight. We had a huge crowd with about a dozen birthdays! The requests flowed like water all evening long. Thanks to all who came up and talked to us after the show. You're compliments were humbling! See you next time!

Moonshine & Ale 6/30/17

Heather Ray and I kept the folks entertained tonight in New Braunfels, TX. We swapped off piano and drums all night while taking requests. There were some odd songs asked for tonight, but we played as many as humanly possible between 8:30p and midnight. It was, as always, a joy to work with Heather again!
