Heather fronted the band tonight in New Braunfels as we ran through a night of Journey music! Pancho, Anthony, Cameron and I did our best to cover all the music for Heather to sing over. The crowd loved the show, and I was thrilled with the way we sounded. This band really put on a great show!

Tapatio Springs 6/25/22
Heather and I played a dueling pianos show in Boerne, TX, for our friends at Tapatio Springs tonight. The crowd filled the tops of our pianos with so many requests, it was a little overwhelming! There was singing, dancing, standing ovations, jokes, and lots of participation from the crowd. It is always pure joy to work with Heather, but at midnight, I turned back into a frog, and Heather had to carry me home. Ribbit.

Barrels and Amps 6/24/22
Our dueling pianos show tonight in Georgetown was fun! We swapped tunes and instruments a few times throughout the night. The requests were mostly classic rock, but we had fun playing them! See ya soon!

Moonshine & Ale 6/23/22
Before Heather and I headed to New Braunfels to play Live Band Karaoke (with Greg on guitar), Chris Wallis gave Heather some drum pointers on stick grip and some patterns to help her be more comfortable on drums. That’s part of why I love Heather: she never rests or stops bettering herself. She put the techniques Chris showed her to work at our show, and she led us in another fun night of music!

The Porch 6/21/22
I filled in on keys for The Hot Pipes tonight in San Marcos. Nick Garcia was on guitar, Bret Coats on bass, and Dave Sims on drums. It was a funky, blues good time! I had some friends in the crowd, and the show went well, so I can’t ask for more than that on a Tuesday night!

Moonshine & Ale 6/19/22
We played two hours of Jimmy Buffett tonight for Father’s Day in New Braunfels, TX. The fellas knocked the show outta the park! The lineup included (me) Dan Holmes (keys, vocals), Chris Wallis (drums), Pancho Garza (guitar), Anthony Sanders (bass), and Andrae Blissett (percussion). The parrotheads filled the building and did conga lines and sang to all the tunes. I hope everyone returns next Sunday for our big Journey show at 7p!

Moonshine & Ale 6/18/22
Dude! I had so much fun with Heather and Chris tonight in New Braunfels! We had a great crowd, and everyone gave us unusual requests, but sang them all. I know it’s gonna be a good night when the whole crowd sings and dances to “Copacabana” of all tunes. Chris and Heather are both so talented, and I’m always glad to share the stage with them. Chris and I (with a full band) will return tomorrow night for a special Father’s Day show featuring the music of Jimmy Buffett starting at 7p.

Moonshine & Ale 6/17/22
Our show in New Braunfels tonight was fun! Heather and I kept each other laughing through just about every song. The crowd followed our energy and enjoyed our show. We had people there from Michigan celebrating, and a fan from Delaware. Caitlin and Kristen found us in 2020, and tracked us down again tonight!

Moonshine & Ale 6/16/22
I got home from a trip to Branson, MO, in time to play in New Braunfels, TX, tonight with Pancho and Heather at Live Band Karaoke. Our buddy Chris Wallis was running sound, and the night went smoothly! This was the first of a four-night run for me at Moonshine & Ale. Heather and I will be back both Friday and Saturday for piano bar, then Chris, Pancho and I will be back on Sunday (with Anthony and Andrae) to perform a Jimmy Buffett night of music for Father’s Day!

Barrels and Amps 6/10/22
We swam this afternoon, and it felt awesome. My wife Christine, my partner Heather, our good friend drummer Chris and I spent a couple hours swimming and hanging out before Heather and I headed to Georgetown, TX, to play a dueling pianos gig at a new venue for us. The crowd requested tunes and sang along, and gave us really interesting songs to play like “Good Enough” from the Goonies, “Long Train Running” by the Doobie Bros, and “Danger Zone” sung to the tune of “Great Balls of Fire”! It was a fun show, and afterwards, we headed to Ft. Worth to spend the night at Heather’s place. Thanks to Drew for running sound for us and letting us play his drums throughout the show!

Hotel Granduca Austin 6/9/22
Heather and I brought our dueling pianos show to the MPI 50 years celebration in Austin! It was 50s themed, and we played lots of tunes from that era, but we also played everyone’s requests from all eras. We met an Elvis, had a burger from the burger bar, and helped the crowd celebrate during their awards presentation. It was a fun event, and we met lots of great people who were interested in bringing us to their events!

Moonshine & Ale 6/5/22
Our first full-band cover series started tonight with the music of Billy Joel! Featuring Dan Holmes (keys), Kevin Humphrey (bass), Anthony Sanders (acoustic), Chris Wallis (drums), Pancho Garza (electric) and Russell Remmington (sax) playing two hours of Billy Joel songs. I had an amazing time, and the band sounded fantastic. This was the first time we took the stage all together, and I’m really excited to hear the music the next few Sundays hold! Also, we live-streamed it on our Facebook page. The sound was a bit distorted, but at least I have a record of the show!

Moonshine & Ale 6/4/22
Talk about a great day! My partner Heather and my wife Christine went to the river with me for swim this afternoon, and we ended up eating lunch at a mini golf course with see-saws and ping pong tables. It was so refreshing to be with those two and just relax. Then, we headed to New Braunfels to play to an energetic, fully packed house! Once our buddy and drum enthusiast Chris Wallis joined us, we tried out some new keytar tunes and generally had a bunch of fun. After the show, Heather headed home to Ft. Worth, and Chris came back to my house, where we watched three episodes of “Shoresy” on Hulu before laughing ourselves to bed!

Embassy Suites 6/3/22
We performed our dueling pianos show in San Marcos, TX, for Austin Pump & Supply, representing NY/NY Dueling Pianos. We had tons of requests during our over 3-hour long show. The people were so sweet to us, and many came up to tell us how much they loved our show. Between dinner, gambling, some chicken bingo, and on-site screen printing in addition to our show, there were all kinds activities for people to focus on, but we still had tons of people bringing us tunes! It was a really fun event, and it was awesome listening to Heather on the opposite piano to me!

Moot Music Cafe 6/3/22
Our friends overseas welcomed us back to perform on Moot’s Facebook page this afternoon, so Heather and I played requests for about an hour! We had some fans on and once again, enjoyed playing everyone’s tunes. Our buddy, drummer Chris Wallis, popped on the livestream and showed us some support, too! We ended after a great show and headed straight to our evening show.
Moonshine & Ale 6/2/22
Live Band Karaoke was played tonight by me, Heather, and Pancho. I like them. They help me keep my sanity on stage by letting me be me.
