Moonshine & Ale 7/27/24

I’ve had such a great day! My friends Mike, Niccole and Willow flew in from California today, and I had some time before the show tonight, so with Christine, we went to a great restaurant, gave them a quick tour of what’s new since they were last in town, and then spent a couple hours in the water at Schlitterbahn! I drove straight from a lazy river to Moonshine & Ale where Heather greeted me with hugs. We had a good crowd with standing room only for most of the night. Drummer Jarrett Wenzel joined us on stage at 10pm, and the show went great. I’m so lucky to be surrounded by great people.

Moonshine & Ale 7/26/24

We crushed it tonight in New Braunfels! A non-stop stream of requests came in, and lots of them were unusual. People sang along with everything, including those unusual ones like “King Of The Road”, “Girls Girls Girls”, “You Spin Me Round”, and they all did the “Chicken Dance” together. It was a fun evening. I can’t say enough good things about being with Heather, so I’ll just say that we will be back tomorrow at Moonshine & Ale for our Saturday night show!

Moonshine & Ale 7/26/24

Before Live Band Karaoke tonight, I met up with guitarist Pancho Garza at Guitar Center to look at a few things and buy a few things for our shows. Heather met us at the club and she had her pup with her, and Moxie is adorable. We had a great time with a lot of singers! The club was full, and the three of us locked in tight as we performed songs. Heather and I will be back at Moonshine & Ale Friday and Saturday night for piano bar, so come join us and request a few songs!

Moonshine Drinkery 7/21/24

We played our evening show on Saturday night, stayed overnight in Victoria, TX, then went back at 1pm to play for brunch. Brunch was provided by Peaches Luncheonette and to say it was delicious is an understatement. We had a great time playing for the crew last night and this afternoon. When we finished, we invited the crew up for a picture. We love our Victoria friends! Everyone who works there is great, and we always have a good time there. We'll be back in November, so see you back at Moonshine Drinkery then!

The Beltonian Theatre 7/19/24

As we were setting up for our show, Wolverine and Deadpool came in with the organizer of the Bell County Comic Con to film a commercial for the show. We’ve met Wolverine before in his street clothes as the owner of Peggy’s Coffee and a few other spots in the Temple mall where we like to visit when in town. They finished up just before we took the stage. Heather and I played three hours worth of requests from the crowd. As always, the Beltonian crown brought the energy! We had some really fun and different song requests tonight, and I had a bunch of fun with Heather. She makes my job easy.

Moonshine & Ale 7/18/24

Live Band Karaoke went great tonight. Heather and I have a busy few nights ahead of us, and it was nice starting the weekend off with our buddy Kevin Humphrey on guitar in New Braunfels. We had a slowish start, but by 9:45p, the club filled with singers ready to join us on stage. Heather and I do this show every Thursday night, so join us at Moonshine & Ale soon!

Moonshine & Ale 7/13/24

New Braunfels people were out to have fun tonight! We had a full room and a huge amount of requests. This was our first show with drummer Zack Carreon, and he was great. We threw lots of oddballs his way, and he sounded like he’d played them a bunch of times! Heather and I kept making each other laugh, which is one of my favorite things to do. Heather’s husband Chance and his friend Kody came out to watch the show, and it was great having them there. I love my job. I mean, what other profession would someone not only ask to hear the JG Wentworth jingle, but also have it played?

Santa Fe Plaza 7/12/24

We couldn’t have asked for better weather for our show tonight in Temple! It was beautiful as we performed for the Hot Summer Sounds event. Our show was from 7:30p-9:30p, and we had tons of families and people out to watch and participate in our dueling pianos show. Heather played “Let It Go” while I did an interpretive dance. I sang “Suspicious Minds” while Heather karate chopped the air. Kids were having fun dancing and throwing a ball around. Everyone was just in a really good mood. A powerful group of loud singers would chime in just behind where I could easily see, but man, I could hear them! The whole crowd sounded great, and I’m so happy I get to do these events with Heather. She is so much fun!

Moonshine & Ale 7/11/24

We had a good night in New Braunfels this evening. Live Band Karaoke was fun, and we had plenty of singers to fill the stage. Heather and I swapped instruments. I played drums for the first half and then switched over to keys for the second half. Kevin was on guitar. We will be back this Saturday for piano bar, so bring your friends!

Old Kress Live 7/6/24

There’s a big hurricane or tropical storm blowing in, so Corpus Christi was in prep mode for most of the day. By the time we took the stage, it was a little slow, but before we ended, we had a mostly full room. People were watching us all the way in the back because we always have a camera feed so they can participate. We were glad people were out to have some fun before whatever the weather decides to do tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who came out to have fun with us, and we hope everyone stays safe over the next few days!

Old Kress Live 7/5/24

Back in Corpus Christi tonight for our show during art walk, Heather and I arrived early because we were unsure of what the weekend traffic might be like. Fortunately, we made it down with no issues, and had a bunch of people waiting for our show. Some of our regulars are getting married tomorrow, so they brought in everyone to celebrate with us tonight! Congrats to Kinsley and Amanda!

Moonshine & Ale 7/4/24

Happy 4th of July! Heather, Pancho and I spent it in New Braunfels for Live Band Karaoke. We had a fully packed room and tons of singers. Even though it was really nutty in the club, everyone was in a good mood and the night went smoothly. These two are hilarious to hang out with, and I’m always happy when I get to perform with them. Earlier today, Heather and I went with Chance and Christine to Schlitterbahn, so by the time the show rolled around, our hair was big and poofy from the humidity. In this random occasion, it’s rare, but both had our hair down.

Moonshine & Ale 7/3/24

We played a rare Wednesday night show in New Braunfels tonight. We play several shows like this each year where it’s the night before a holiday, so since tomorrow is the 4th, we had a packed house by 10pm. We had lots of unusual requests, and we played them. Heather played a random Madonna song for the first time ever and sounded great. It was a fun night. Before the show, Christine, Heather, Chance and I went to Root Cellar to celebrate Christine’s birthday. It was delicious!
