Moonshine & Ale 5/30/25

We performed in New Braunfels tonight. We had a good crowd, including some visitors from England. They got the first request in of the night, and stayed until nearly the end of the night. We also had people from Colorado in, as well as other spots all over the country. It’s cool when we get visitors from far away, and it’s even cooler when they return year after year to see our show. Heather and I will return tomorrow night to take more requests.

Moonshine & Ale 5/29/25

Live Band Karaoke went great tonight. We had lots of friends and fans in the crowd. Pancho and Heather sounded great, and I always enjoy playing with them. I’m glad we got to hear so many great singers tonight, and thank you to all who join us each week in New Braunfels. Heather and I will be at Moonshine & Ale both Friday and Saturday night this weekend, so come out and join us!

Moonshine & Ale 5/25/25

We had a great crowd for our special Sunday night show in New Braunfels. Since many people are off for Memorial Day, we entertained a full room of party people. We had a guest drummer, Alex Lugwa, for a few songs tonight, and I hope we get to work with him again sometime soon. The night went by quickly because we had so many requests, and Heather and I were so happy to spend another holiday weekend at Moonshine & Ale. See you on Thursday for Live Band Karaoke!

The Beltonian Theatre 5/23/25

The Beltonian Theatre in Belton, TX, has been fun over the past year and more, and tonight was our last show there for the forseeeable future. The owners are trying to sell the venue as they are moving on to a new phase of their lives, and Heather and I are happy to know how many great shows we’ve had there with Zachariah and his staff. We really love our times with all of them! Tonight’s show was another great one for the books, and we had an amazing amount of requests during our three-hour performance. Heather and I played as many as possible, and we really appreciated all the fun and off-center requests. Christine came up with us tonight and took some fun pictures and video, and I love it when she comes to shows with us. We took a funny shot together before our show across the street at the antique mall. Thank you to the crowd tonight for all the kind words about our show after we finished, and thank you to the Beltonian for providing us with a great place to present our show during our time working with you. Maybe we’ll return with whoever buys the place, but until then, see you at a show somewhere down the road!

Moonshine & Ale 5/22/25

Heather and I were joined by Pancho and Denise tonight at Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels. We had a great time together with a full room of singers waiting to take the stage with us. I aways feel good knowing all the great musicians I get to work with. Heather and I will be in Belton tomorrow at the Beltonian Theatre for our last show there for the foreseeable future  as it is being sold by the owner, and we will return to Moonshine & Ale for a special show this Sunday night because Monday is Memorial Day. Hope to see you at a show!

Moonshine & Ale 5/17/25

Heather and I closed out our weekend in New Braunfels tonight with drummer Ryan Hall. We had a packed room for the majority of the night, and tons of requests. I can’t believe how long I’ve been performing in this place, and I never take for granted how good our crowd always is. Working with great musicians like Heather and Ryan makes shows easy.

Moonshine & Ale 5/16/25

Heather and I played in New Braunfels tonight. We had a lot of requests, and the crowd sang along to many of the songs we played. We had several bachelorette parties and birthdays in the crowd. It’s always nice when people come to our shows to celebrate events like those. After the show, we headed back to San Marcos, where we found my yard full of sleepy deer.

Moonshine & Ale 5/15/25

Two of my happy places are in water, or behind a keyboard, and I got to do both of those today. Heather and I did some snorkeling in the river before we headed to our Live Band Karaoke show with Pancho Garza. We ate dinner together before the show, and we talked about a bunch of songs which get overlooked on our karaoke list. Well, that all changed when the show started because we had the most off-center songs sung tonight by lots of good singers. I really loved the diversity of people we share the stage with. It’s like we get to fill someone’s rock star moment each week.

Artesia Country Club 5/10/25

Our show tonight was a private event in Artesia, New Mexico. Heather and I played our dueling pianos with drummer Jarrett Wenzel holding down the rhythm for us. The crowd was full of nurses and medical workers there for an awards ceremony with a Hollywood theme, so we wore our shiniest clothes and played the most danceable tunes we could. People loved it, and it went great!

Moonshine & Ale 5/8/25

Pancho, Heather and I were joined at Live Band Karaoke tonight by Denise Ramerez on keys. We had lots of familiar faces in the crowd tonight, including several a few former Moonshine & Ale servers. Andrea worked there back in 2018, and she graduated tonight! It’s so good to see people like her and Morgan and all the other people we’ve worked along side for years do good things in the world!

Austin Proper Hotel 5/2/25

Jenn and Robbie are getting married tomorrow, and Heather and I played a dueling pianos show for the rehearsal dinner tonight in Austin. I played an hour of instrumental dinner music before our show, and when we launched into our 1.5 hour set, and they were ready to party! We had endless amounts of requests on our pianos. Everyone really enjoyed themselves, and the show went great. Congratulations to Jenn and Robbie!

Moonshine & Ale 5/2/25

I played bass tonight at Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels tonight, and Heather was on drums. Julia Chisholm (from Boston) was on piano, and my buddy Pancho played guitar. He and I even swapped instruments for a tune tonight. We had a room full of new people, so we played lots of songs we don’t always get a chance to play. It was fun to get to play bass tonight, and the band sounded great!
