Kevin, Heather and I performed at Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels. It was a stormy evening, and that kept some people away, but the crowd we had all enjoyed sharing the stage with us! Heather and I will be back at Moonshine & Ale both Friday and Saturday for piano bar!

Muck & Fuss 4/15/23
DanHolmesGroup took the stage in New Braunfels this afternoon from 1p-4p. It was a warm one! We had a great time playing original tunes and some New Orleans classics. Heather (on bass) joined Chris and I for her first show with my band. She did a great job! We made some new fans from some folks in from New Orleans, and had lots of great feedback from the crowd. I’m looking forward to more shows with Heather and Chris.

Moonshine Drinkery 4/14/23
Heather and I drove to Victoria, TX, to perform for our friends and fans! We always love playing there because the staff rocks and we get requests from the crowd which we don’t usually get anywhere else. Some examples are “Logical Song”, “Coconut” and “A Long December”. We made some new fans tonight, and had quite a few of our regulars show up, too. I can’t wait until we get to come back to Victoria!

Moonshine & Ale 4/13/23
My first show back after a 10 day vacation to the UK was tonight for Live Band Karaoke! I was a little jetlagged, but it made a strange night even more fun. I missed playing with Heather and Pancho while I was gone, and I had a lot of fun with them tonight. To commemorate the randomness of the evening, I will use text-predict for the rest of this blog post. The most important part of the post was the introduction. I’m sure you can read the whole thing here but the main point is the following paragraph. I don’t have any idea how much of this information is available on my website. The only thing that matters is how many people have already been sent the information.

Moonshine & Ale 4/1/23
April 1st on stage with friends in New Braunfels, TX, started a bit slow, but soon, there were thousands upon thousands of people watching us do our thing. We had more than 200,000 requests, which was slightly lower than our expectations. Chris played drums with us started at 10pm, and feared for his life due to the large swam of bees hovering overhead, and Heather sang in 14 different languages. I found a new sound on the keytar which made me 68% more attractive. It was a fairly common show.

Sean Patrick’s Irish Pub 3/31/23
We performed in beautiful downtown San Marcos this evening at one of our favorite local spots, Sean Patrick’s! We had a burger before we took the stage at 7p, and it was delicious. The crew there is great, and we always have fun playing everyone’s requests. My personal favorite tonight had to be a tie between “Take Me To The Pilot” and “Amish Paradise”. Both were a bunch of fun for Heather and me! We will be back the last Friday of each month, so the next show there is April 28th.

Moonshine & Ale 3/30/23
Heather and I did our thing at Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels with guitarist Kevin Humphrey! Heather started off on drums tonight, and I was on keys, then we swapped of on break. Everyone wa sin a good mood, and I had some very nice compliments about our show from people in the crowd. I somehow really impressed one woman with the way I was drumming, and she was super-complimentary about it, too. It’s always nice to hear those things from the crowd!

Greek Bros Oyster Bar & Grill 3/25/23
Wow! What a fun night we had in El Campo, TX, tonight! Heather and I brought the dueling pianos, and Chris Wallis joined us on drums, where we took an unbelievable amount of request from the crowd. Working with these two makes me proud to bring our show out on the road. We started the night with delicious food from Greek Bros, and played more than a three-hour show, full of birthday songs and keytar solos. I love every time we get to perform here because the requests are amazingly varied and come in fast. Chris really drove the groove all night, and Heather and I got a little goofy while we ran through as mane songs as time allowed. I’m looking forward to our next show here in November!

Barrels and Amps 3/24/23
Our dueling pianos show went well tonight up in Georgetown, TX! Heather and I played everything from My Chemical Romance to Morgan Wallen to Kansas to Abba. We had some people who saw us a few weeks back at our matinee show in Belton, TX, and it was great to have them be some of the first to send up some great requests. After we finished our show, we headed to San Marcos for a nightcap at Zelick’s with Heather’s other husband Chance. We always have a good time!

San Antonio Academy of Texas 3/23/23
We drove to down perform at a school fundraiser for San Antonio Academy of Texas tonight, where we were representing NY/NY Dueling Pianos. Heather and I had performed at a different venue this past fall where someone from this group had seen us perform, and they wanted us for their big event! We had a great time, and Emily (who organized this event) was so kind to us all evening long. We’re so happy everyone had so much fun, and we were told that they’d love to have us back next year. We’d gladly return!

Moonshine & Ale 3/18/23
Work is so much less like work when you do it with friends! Heather and Chris joined me on stage for a busy Saturday night in New Braunfels, TX, tonight. Lots of requests, birthdays, and anniversaries were part of our show. Heather and I are so happy and grateful for having such a busy and productive weekend. We finished our show last night in Tulia, TX, and after breaking down our gear at midnight, drove four hours to Abilene, slept in an AirB&B camper, woke up and drove another four hours to my house for dinner, then headed straight to our 4.5 hour show in New Braunfels with Chris. I’m pretty tired after driving 1,000+ miles and putting on three shows in the past three days, but I’m feeling like Heather and I really accomplished a lot!

Linda’s Event Center 3/17/23
We drove to Tulia, Texas, tonight to play a St. Patrick’s Day show for the Swisher Memorial Hospital foundation, where we were representing New York, New York, Dueling Pianos! We performed “in the round“ for nearly 300 people. The crowd had a lot of fun, and requested some interesting songs like “Bein’ Green“, “The Dukes of Hazzard“, and “America, the Beautiful“. I always enjoy sharing the stage with Heather, and we both had a great time! I’m so glad that we were able to participate in their fundraiser.

Moonshine & Ale 3/16/23
The rain held off in New Braunfels until about 11p. Live Band Karaoke was fun with Heather on drums and Kevin on guitar. We had a good crowd, and tons of singers. Heather and I jumped in my newly repaired truck after the show and we’re now heading north for our show near Lubbock!

Rockin J Piano Bar 3/11/23
We had a great night in Cedar Park! Heather and I were surprised by some off-center requests which people enjoyed, sang, and danced to like “Invisible Touch”, “Mardi Gras Mambo”, and “Everybody Needs Somebody”. Heather never fails to impress me when she goes between songs like “I Feel The Earth Move” to “My Heart Will Go On”. Tonight was a fun night!

Muck & Fuss 3/11/23
DanHolmesGroup took the stage in New Braunfels, TX, this afternoon from 1p-4p! It was warm, and Chris Wallis and I made it even hotter by playing some of the funkiest, grooviest, and fun-loving music we could. The crowd dug our vibe, and it was great! My wife, Christine, came out and took some really great pictures of us. I’m so happy whenever I get a chance to perform my original music, plus whatever random whim we’re feeling. A couple odd ball tunes out of nowhere today were “Taxman” by The Beatles which Chris called out for us to play, even though we had never played it together before, and when I fired back a second-line, groovy New Orleans version of “Just Like Heaven” by The Cure. Think Dr. John meets Robert Smith. You just never know what we might pull out of thin air!
Barrels & Amps 3/10/23
We performed our dueling pianos show in Georgetown, TX, tonight! Heather is a true rock star, and any show I get to perform with her is a good one. We’re back here March 24th, so tell your friends!

Moonshine & Ale 3/9/23
Tonight, I played drums for Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels. Heather wasn’t able to make it tonight, but Pancho Garza was on guitar, and Lindsay Everly played keys. Lindsay is from San Francisco, and this was our first time sharing the stage. She did great, as did Pancho! We had lots of singers, and we even had some staff join us for a couple tunes. It was a fun night!

Moonshine & Ale 3/4/23
New Braunfels was a little slow tonight, but we had a great crowd at Moonshine & Ale. Heather and I brought our brand of entertainment together with drummer Chris Wallis to keep the people happy! I love any time I get to perform with these two!

Zeta Beta Tau 3/3/23
We performed at the fraternity house Zeta Beta Tau in Austin, TX, tonight for their mother & son night! We played everything from “Pour Some Sugar On Me” to “Dancing In The Moonlight”. Lots of dancing and singing took place, and it was fun! Several people afterwards said they’d like to have us back annually, and we’d love to!
