W Hotel 1/29/18

Gray Gregson and I performed in downtown Austin, TX, tonight with Groove Labs sound production for the Hukaabee Architects conference. It was a casino night theme, and so there were lots of gaming tables around. Gray and I performed our hour-and-a-half show, but then they still wanted more, so we went another half-hour for the good folks! It was fun performing with Gray, and Groove Labs made us sound great!

Moonshine & Ale 1/25/18

Amy, John, Andrae, Pancho and I were all hands on deck for tonight’s live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels, TX. We had a great crowd! I was also happy to have some long-time fans show up to the gig tonight. I had fun playing my keytar bass with a stage-full of great musicians!

Moonshine & Ale 1/20/18

Tonight in New Braunfels, TX, I performed with David Lee and Chris Wallis to a packed house. We had a very energetic crowd, and they gave us tons of requests. I performed several new (to me) songs from random requests, and Chris Wallis kept up with all of them easily. Thanks, Chris & David, for a fun night!

Moonshine & Ale 1/18/18

I played bass (on my keytar) tonight in New Braunfels, TX, for Live Band Karaoke with drummer Andrae Blissett and guitarist Pancho Garza. I almost didn’t make it because my truck died on the way to my show. I got a ride, and we had lots of songs people wanted to sing when I arrived. I had a good time playing with the band, and I will return to Moonshine & Ale this Saturday to take requests on the piano!

Darwin’s Pub 1/17/18

I performed with drummer Mikey Gammon in Austin, TX, tonight on 6th street. It was a very cold night, which scared lots of people away from the downtown area. We still played our show to the few who braved the weather. Most of the requests tonight were 70s & 80s tunes, so we played lots of classic rock & new wave. Thanks goes out to Mikey for an enjoyable evening of music!

Rockey’s Piano Bar 1/13/18

I was called in to sub for Matt Wilson in Round Rock, TX tonight, and Chris Wallis was called to sub for Mikey Gammon. Mikey and Matt both were ill, so we put on our show in their place tonight from 9:30p-12:30a. Tons of requests (and tons of great feedback) were delivered to my piano all night long from the people in the packed club. Thanks once again to Chris Wallis for being a pro drummer and knocking every song I threw his way outta the park!

Darwin’s Pub 1/11/18

I had a hard day today. Before my show, I had to take my sweet 17 year old puppy into the vet for the last time. I was in a reflective mood when drummer & good friend Chris Wallis showed up at the club in Austin, TX. When the show began, there were only five or six people in the club, but one of them liked our show so much that he left and brought back about 100 people with him from a convention he was in town with. That group was so nice and energetic, and all of them were so appreciative of the show Chris and I put on that it made my night enjoyable when I originally didn’t think that would’ve been possible. I’m so glad I was performing with Chris tonight, as he knew how very special my pup, Sam, was to me and my wife. Thanks to everyone who hung out and made my night happier.

Moonshine & Ale 1/6/18

In New Braunfels, TX, tonight, Danny Smith and Joe Resnick joined me on stage to entertain the masses. I enjoyed our show, including when a bachelorette gave me an octopus tentacle to put on my drumstick, also when we celebrated about six birthdays at once, and when folks asked me mid-show for contact info for some private events! On a personal note, I also had a chance to hang out with my wife, Christine, and also my niece, Anna, which is always a treat. Christine took many of the photos in this post!

Moonshine & Ale 1/5/18

It was another fun night with the great Heather Ray in New Braunfels, TX! We had lots of folks in great spirits tonight. I enjoyed playing for a couple of people’s birthdays and also a bachelor party, plus all of our normal requests from the crowd. I’ll be back tomorrow night, so you should show up, too!

Moonshine Drinkery 1/4/18

Our first gig together in 2018 found Chris Wallis and I in Victoria, TX, at our monthly “first Thursday” show! We were slammed with great and wildly varied requests right out of the gate. I’m grateful to all the people who hung out with us tonight, and many of them said it was their first time. I like it when, as it happen tonight, a new fan comes up to tell me that they thought about leaving before we started playing, but ended up staying all night because they were having so much fun! Thanks, new people!

Moonshine & Ale 12/31/17

Happy New Years! David Lee and I rang in the New Year I New Braunfels, TX. The crowd was fantastic and the show was high-energy all night long. My wife, my brother, and my sister-in-law all came out to the show (and my wife took most of these pictures). It was nice to be close to family and friends to say goodbye to 2017. I hope everyone had as much fun as I did while I performed with David Lee!

Everyone was out partying tonight in New Braunfels, TX! Tommy, Chris and I had a great night full of requests. It was a pleasure to work with these two fellas. I had some family in the crowd tonight, and I enjoyed hanging out during my breaks with them. I’ll be back one more time in 2017 for NYE tomorrow night! See you there!

Rockey’s Piano Bar 12/29/17

I performed again this evening with drummer Chris Wallis, and he once again made my job easy. We played in Round Rock, Texas, to a full house of energetic people. We played everything from “Whiskey River” to “Karma Chameleon”, and the crowd stayed with us for every turn. A big thank you to the staff at Rockey’s for keeping the crowd happy during our show!

Darwin’s Pub 12/28/17

I had fun with Chris Wallis tonight in Austin, TX, on 6th street. We had a great crowd with tons of oddball requests! Chris and I laughed through lots of songs we’d never tried together, and we had the crowd singing “watermelon” when they didn’t know the words. My favorite strange moment had to be the last song of the evening. We had a group who wanted “Werewolves Of London” and a different group wanting “Man In The Mirror”, so I played Werewolves and sang the words to “Man In The Mirror”. Best. Mashup. Ever.

Moonshine & Ale 12/23/17

Merry Christmas, everyone! David Lee, Chris Wallis and I played in New Braunfels, TX, for a Christmas-filled night of wonder and magic...well...at least wonderful requests. Everyone was in a good mood, and I had fun with the fellas. Happy holidays!

Moonshine & Ale 12/22/17

Danny Smith and I played a holiday-adjacent show in New Braunfels, TX, tonight. A few birthdays and a bunch of requests later, we found ourselves pushing up against the midnight wall. I enjoy gigging with Danny. He’s a solid talent for sure!

Seton Medical Center 12/20/17

I played some background Christmas music for the volunteer’s holiday party at Seton in Kyle, TX, this evening. Everyone enjoyed their food and each other’s company as I selected various tunes to play for them. I had lots of compliments and smiles as I finished up my hour-long set. It’s nice to perform in the background every now and then!

Moonshine & Ale 12/16/17

Between all the Christmas tunes, I played (with Tommy and Chris) people's other requests, everything from Eminem to Kevin Fowler. I liked all the people who were wearing their most outlandish holiday clothes! The requests flowed all night long, and we played as many as time allowed. Thanks everyone for another great night!

Moonshine & Ale 12/15/17

Got some holiday cheer tonight in New Braunfels, TX, with Heather Ray! The night started slowly, but by 10pm the house packed out. Seemed like it was EVERYONE’s birthday, so happy birthday was sung on a nearly endless loop. Heather puts on a great show, and the crowd enjoyed seeing us swap instruments and sing together. I’ll be back tomorrow night for more fun!

Moonshine & Ale 12/9/17

Man, the crowd was crazy tonight in New Braunfels, TX! Michael Carrandi and Joe Resnick joined me on stage to entertain the masses. We had several celebrations happening with birthdays, anniversaries, and new engagements all represented. I received so many smiles and “thank you”s from the audience that it warmed me up on a cold night. Michael and Joe were both fun to perform with, and the crowd liked the whole evening’s show!
