I put together a big band, and we performed swinging versions of 1930's through today's music for a show in downtown Indianapolis. Barnes and Thornburg law firm hired us for their holiday party, and I was able to pull together some of the most professional players in the country to do the show. All of them are great friends I've known for years, and I am happy to say that the show went off without a hitch! The evening started with Bill Ritter and I performing in the middle of the floor with Angela Ingersoll on top of the piano for about an hour and a half. Then, we did two big band shows. At one point, a friend of mine, Brian Weir-Harden (who works at the law firm) sat in with the band for a few songs, and sounded great. My biggest hope is that I have a chance to get this band back together for more shows in the future! Now, if I could only figure out a way to include all of the other great musicians I have the opportunity to play with on a regular basis in the group...
