AJ's Ale House MF 8/30/12

Joe Resnick drummed while I pianoed (?) for the people who came out to see us in Marble Falls, TX tonight. Of course, "Piano Man" was requested twice, as was several other Billy Joel hits. We also had a good time running through some cool tunes like "Into The Mystic" and "Layla". Joe never fails to impress me with his drumming skills, so make sure you catch him some night in the near future. As for me, I'll be back in Marble Falls for the big Friday night show! See you then!

StageIt.com 8/27/12

Tonight marked our 13th and final show of our Summer Concert Series on StageIt.com, and it was one of the best! Ian Lee on guitar, Chris Wallis on drums, I played the keys, and Christine Barton-Holmes ran the sound board for us. We decided to stick with all upbeat, danceable tunes for this show, and that's just what we did. I'll be reviewing the recording we made of this performance, and there's a good chance a tune or two will end up on my YouTube page soon! We will do more shows on StageIt.com in the future, so stay tuned.

AJ's Ale House NB 8/25/12

Roger Glenn and I did our show tonight in New Braunfels, TX for an enthusiastic crowd. The piano was hit with requests from the first note I hit until the last, and the crowd was very participatory. Singing and dancing, the people made their way through every song we played in an energetic way. Roger leaned in and made the crowd aware every time some new people walked into the club. Fun all night long was had at AJ's!

AJ's Ale House MF 8/24/12

One of the busiest request nights in recent memory happened this evening in Marble Falls, TX with me and Roger Glenn (drums). We had everything from CCR to Snoop Dog placed on my piano, and we did them all. The crowd got to know Roger a bit, like what he had for breakfast & lunch, as well as his favorite movie (Princess Bride). I had a hard time explaining to one guy that "Men Without Hats" and "Men At Work" were actually two different bands. Fun night with a crazy crowd made my hour-and-a-half drive home much easier!!!

AJ's Ale House NB 8/23/12

Joe Resnick and I performed in New Braunfels, TX tonight at the watering hole known as AJ's. I got there a bit early and had a rare chance to sit and catch up with Joe about his recent (and future) road travels with his cover band. We had a growing crowd up until closing time, and my favorite comments from them were "You sound better than Lady GaGa" and "Make sure when you turn 50 to get a colonoscopy". AJ's never fails to entertain!

Jack's Roadhouse 8/20/12

After our 12th online StageIt show, we headed a few blocks from my house to Jack's Roadhouse to play a few hours of music. I had a great time with Ian and Chris as we ran through some funk and blues tunes, plus a bunch of original tunes. We had a pretty good crowd for a Monday, and their spirits were up. I enjoy growing musically with Ian and Chris, and we'll be back at Jack's in a few weeks!

This week, I re-joined in StageIt land with my Texas buddies, Chris Wallis and Ian Lee. We performed a rock-solid, half-hour set of tunes, some written by myself and some by Mr. Lee. Once again, I covered bass duties, this time on my Roland Juno 106. Chris had just come back from a week long road tour with a country band, so his funky side was ready to flare. Ian sang and played great, and we finished just in time to head to our evening show at Jack's Roadhouse!

AJ's Ale House NB 8/18/12

Tonight, I performed a request show in New Braunfels, TX with Roger Glenn on drums. This was my first show with Roger, and he did a good job keeping up with all the widely varied requests which were placed on my piano all night long. This marked one of the busiest nights we've had with requests in recent memory, and I had a good time keeping up with what the people wanted to hear. Thanks goes out to Roger for keeping great time all night!

StageIt.com 8/13/12

StageIt.com hosted our 11th show tonight, this time live from Avon, Indiana. Steve Brunner on drums, Bill Ritter on bass and I did my thing on keys while singing. Steve has a nice setup in the basement of his house where he can record drum tracks, so we broadcast from his studio. We also had the added advantage of playing a bunch of rounds of ping pong after finishing our live show. We had quite a few people watching us and participating via the chat room on StageIt's website. This was a very fun show for me, especially since I had the opportunity to perform with my former band mates again. To Steve and Bill; you two sounded great, as always!

AJ's Ale House NB 8/11/12

Chris Wallis and I played to a packed house in New Braunfels, TX last night. The requests were wide and varied as we performed throughout the evening. I had fun with Chris, and Chris had fun engaging the crowd. I love it when he tries to stall the audience by telling them he's stalling for me! Ha! From Steve Miller to the Beastie Boys and everything in between, we played it all. I rushed home after the gig to get a couple hours sleep before boarding my plane to Indy!

AJ's Ale House MF 8/9/12

Joe Resnick and I had the ultimate party table tonight in Marble Falls, TX. They showed up early, and stayed until the end, and continually came up with some of the most musical requests of any group ever. They requested everything from David Bowie to Patsy Cline to Stevie Wonder to the Beatles and more and more and more! Not only did they make great requests, but they danced to just about everything. Thanks to them (and everyone else) for hanging out with us tonight in Marble Falls!

Jack's Roadhouse 8/6/12

After our StageIt.com show, I went with Chris Wallis and Ian Lee over to Jack's Roadhouse in San Marcos, TX to perform a three hour show for a crowd out to dance. Pretty much anything we played, we had dancers. Ian let his bluesy side show when the crowd asked for "Thrill Is Gone". Chris made every song groove so hard that it was easy for me to lay down a bass groove and solo over. We are booked for a couple more dates at Jack's in the near future, so come on out and catch a show!

StageIt.com 8/6/12

Ian Lee and Chris Wallis joined me in San Marcos, TX at my studio known as Soup Kitchen to broadcast our 10th show on StageIt.com tonight. I had a blast performing with those guys once again. Chris and Ian both played great and made it easy for me to emotionally dive into my performance. I just seem to get more and more comfortable performing with those two, and I look forward to the next show with them. Next week, I'll be performing my StageIt show from Indianapolis, IN with my former bandmates Steve Brunner and Bill Ritter!

AJ's Ale House NB 8/4/12

It's always a treat to perform with the super-entertaining drummer, Mikey Gammon! He joined me tonight in New Braunfels, TX with a smile to please the crowd. The joint was hopping from the minute we took the stage, and nobody left for our whole show. I also had some different requests tonight, which always makes things more entertaining for me, as it keeps me on my toes! Everything from Red Hot Chili Peppers to Simon & Garfunkel was on the piano, and I look forward to the next time I get to perform with Mikey!

AJ's Ale House MF 8/3/12

I passed the test! I'm not sure why I was being tested, but according to one table, I passed!!! They told me that when they walked in, I was playing "Smashmouth" (which I didn't play at all tonight), and they wanted to stump me with "good music". So everything they sent up, I played, including Delbert McClinton, Allman Brothers, Fleetwood Mac, Elvis, and Young MC. Yay! I passed! Joe Resnick and I had a good night in Marble Falls with everyone tonight. Thanks for coming out to see us!

AJ's Ale House MF 8/2/12

Joe Resnick played some great drum grooves tonight in Marble Falls, Texas while I took requests from the crowd. We had a pretty late-arriving group, but they were extremely interactive! People were wanting to hear Beatles, Doobie Brothers, Bon Jovi and Journey. The night wound up with people wanting more and saying they'd be back tomorrow night to see us! I drove home after the show humming "I Wish" and watching all the deer dance out of my way.
