Darwin’s Pub 3/30/18

Roger Glenn and I played on 6th Street in Austin, TX, tonight to a good group of people. I had some new fans hang out after the show to talk about how we do what we do, and I told them practice. I mean, it’s either that or just pure magic, right? I always enjoy playing with drum magician Roger, he’s purty good!

Cibolo Studios 3/27/18

I laid down some keyboard tracks today in San Antonio, TX, for Jay (Wimberley) Bleu. He’s currently working on a new album, and it sounds great. I played on 4 or 5 tunes, and I’m excited to hear the finished project soon!

Moonshine & Ale 3/17/18

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I played in New Braunfels, TX, with John & Amy Tuck from Colorado tonight. From our first note, the crowd was in it to win it. We played everything they requested, because that’s what we do! John tore it up on trumpet a couple of times, and I had bunches of fun playing with Amy and him. Hope everyone had a good holiday!

The White Horse 3/16/18

SXSW show Friday night in Austin, TX, with The Governors was lots of fun! We played the first set of the night, and I enjoyed swapping between my Nord and my accordion during it. This was my first show with Doug, Jeremy and Chris and it went great. I’m looking forward to playing some more with these fellas in the future. Thanks to my lovely wife, Christine, for taking some lovely shots of this lovely band!

Rockey’s Piano Bar 3/15/18

My show tonight in Round Rock, TX, with Mikey Gammon (on drums) was a success! A bunch of requests from a bunch of people, a few birthdays and a bachelorette party made for a good Thursday night show. The crowd had fun singing and dancing to all the random tunes we played. Thanks to everyone for such a good night!

Moonshine & Ale 3/10/18

So, Brandon was a guy in our audience tonight in New Braunfels, TX, who was wearing a shirt (made for him by his brother) featuring a picture of Brandon’s shirtless back with some serious plumber’s crack. It didn’t dampen his spirits at all as he danced for Joe Resnick and I on stage. I rotated the piano bench with the talented Michael Carrandi and enjoyed all the madness from the audience. It’s great when everyone is in such a good mood. Thanks, New Braunfels!

Darwin’s Pub 3/9/18

Noel “Doc” Vickers joined me in Austin, TX, on 6th street tonight for some piano bar action at the start of SXSW! We had a very energetic crowd who wanted some interesting songs tonight, including “Big Chief”, “Maybelline”, “Circle Of Life” and “I Believe I Can Fly” to name a few. I thoroughly enjoyed performing with Doc, and I hope we do it again sometime soon!

Moonshine & Ale 3/8/18

Things got weird at Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels, TX, tonight! It took a couple minutes due to some complications with the computer before we got started, but then the hits just kept on flowing until the night triumphantly ended with a birthday girl singing “Don’t Stop Believing”. My keytar felt satisfied playing all the funky bass lines, locking in with Andrae on drums and Pancho soloing on guitar!

Moonshine & Ale 3/3/18

Met a couple players from the east coast tonight in New Braunfels, TX. Dan Slyker and Polina Senderova joined me onstage to take requests from the crowd. They both were fun to perform with, and both are great entertainers. We had a responsive crowd, and apart from a scuffle at the end of the evening, everyone was in a great mood. I was happy to see some of my Marble Falls, TX, peeps tonight! Wish I could’ve had them onstage for some birthday tunes. Thanks, everyone!

Moonshine Drinkery 3/2/18

Our piano & drums show moved from Thursdays to Fridays, and it was a great move for us! The crowd was very involved in the show, and we had a piano full of requests all evening long. Drummer Chris Wallis and I played everything from Billy Joel to Blink182. Most of the evening, I had a group who would gather behind me to dance and sing along, and when that group sat down, another group would come up. It was a fun first Friday in Victoria, TX!

Terra Nova Digital Audio 3/1/18

Nick Landis mastered my new album, “Matinee Monster Movies” today in Austin, TX. The session took about six hours for my fifteen-song project, and I like the end result Nick provided. It was only slightly intimidating that in the next room, Jerry Jeff Walker was having his new album mastered. I hope I’m still releasing albums at Jerry Jeff’s age!
