Moonshine & Ale 9/29/18

We had a bizarre crowd in New Braunfels, TX, tonight. They brought up lots of songs, but were pretty shy when it came to interacting with us. So it became a performance night instead of a sing-along, but everyone had a great time. I shared the evening with a couple of friends, Michael Carrandi and Joe Resnick. I will return soon to Moonshine & Ale!

Moonshine & Ale 9/27/18

Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels, TX, went well tonight with me, Pancho Garza, and Andrae Blissett. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve been with fellas, and it was a good time. We did get a little goofy while performing behind all the various singers, and the crowd did get a little tipsy as the night wore on. I’m back this Saturday in New Braunfels for sing-along piano bar fun!

County Line Orchard 9/16/18

We performed in Hobart, Indiana, today under gorgeous skies. From 11a-5p, Bill Ritter (bass), Chris Wallis (drums) and I played our brand of funky, bluesy original material to a very appreciative audience. We sold quite a few CDs and albums during our show for the “Barnyard Jams” series at the orchard. This was the third and final show of our insanely busy weekend trip to Indiana. I can’t overstate how fortunate I feel to be able to perform with these two fellas. I want to take this band on the road cross-county. I don’t know who would want to hear us play, but I’d be happy. One new fan took the band out after the show for dinner, so at least I know we’re doing something right! Thank you to June for the delicious post-gig meal, and thank you to my wife, Christine, for all of the amazing photos she took today. Now, to get some sleep before heading to Memphis tomorrow...

Zydeco’s 9/15/18

Congratulations to Zydeco’s for a successful 20th anniversary week-long party in Mooresville, IN! DanHolmesGroup was proud to take part in the festivities, and we loved playing both Friday and Saturday there this week. It’s like a home away from home anytime I go to Zydeco’s. I play with great musicians, eat some of the best food anywhere, and talk with a bunch of the most interesting people to gather in one room. I can’t wait to come back to Zydeco’s!

Zydeco’s 9/14/18

It was great to play again in Mooresville, IN! Chris Wallis came up from Texas with me to perform with Bill Ritter for the 20th anniversary celebration of Zydeco’s. Christine took a bunch of pictures for us as we played tons of original music for the good people. I love gigging (and eating) at Zydeco’s, and I love performing with Bill and Chris. It’s a treat to be able to do what I love with a bunch of great people around me!
Side note: After the gig, we headed to Meijer for a few things and to get gas. After pumping, my battery died in my truck. Fortunately, Meijer sells car batteries, so I bought one and Chris and Christine helped me change it out. It’s all better now!

Moonshine Drinkery 9/8/18

Chris Wallis and I performed in Victoria, Texas, tonight. This wrapped up my run of 10 nights with 10 shows. I always have a great time performing with Chris. The crowd through us some curveballs, but all in all, it was a good show! Next up, I had to Indiana for a few shows with my original project, Dan Holmes Group!

Moonshine & Ale 9/7/18

Things got goofy tonight in New Braunfels, TX, with Heather Ray & me. We had a great crowd. Actually, we had two great crowds! The room was fully when we took the stage and those early birds left about at our halfway mark, and then the room filled again. Both groups were great and sang along to most everything we threw at them. Also, Jay Wimberly made his drumming debut for a few songs with us early in the evening, and it was good hearing him play an instrument other than the one I’m familiar with him on, that being guitar! Heather is always a blast to play with, and our show just keeps getting stronger!

Moonshine & Ale 9/6/18

Partied with the Live Band Karaoke crowd in New Braunfels, TX, tonight! We had a bunch of gigantic groups all wanting to be on stage together, so it became less of a Karaoke night and more like choir practice. Andrea and Pancho are a couple solid players, and it made the night go smoothly.

Darwin’s Pub 9/4/18

It was raining and crazy on 6th street in Austin tonight. Roger Glenn and I took requests from the damp crowd. I was pleasantly surprised with the large volume and variety of requests we had. Lots of out-of-towners hung out for our whole 3-hour show. I even had a couple who saw me perform last night in San Antonio follow me to Austin to sing along! It was a pleasure performing with Roger again.

Howl At The Moon 9/3/18

I spent my Labor Day in San Antonio, TX, playing with the team at Howl. The crowd from the beginning of the night was very interactive. My partner for the evening was Denise, while Tommy dueled Katie. It was a good way to spend a Monday evening!

Firestone and Robertson Distillery 9/2/18

I drove to Ft. Worth at 9:45am to meet up with my dueling pianos partner, Heather Ray, to set up for Maria & Andrew Lott’s wedding, where we were representing Rock It Man Entertainment. We were set up by 4p, including a second PA system outside for the ceremony, and our show time was 11p-1a, then tear down and load out. I should make it home by 6am, which makes for a very long day!

Maria and Andrew are a great couple, and their ceremony was beautiful. Heather and I really enjoyed the chance we got to speak with several of the guests before and after our performance. One attendee even grabbed a trombone from his car and played a couple tunes with us! I always enjoy performing with Heather, and it was flattering to hear all of the compliments we were given regarding our show. Thank you to the newlyweds for including us in their special day!

Moonshine Drinkery 9/1/18

I can’t believe it’s September 1st. Heck, I still have a hard time believing it’s already 2018! I still party like it’s 1999. Chris Wallis and I had fun with the crowd tonight in Victoria, TX. It’s the only club I play where Jackie Wilson and Beach Boys get requested more often than Bon Jovi. Now to head home so I can get a couple winks before I need to get up and drive to Ft. Worth in the morning for my next gig!

Moonshine Drinkery 8/31/18

Drove to Victoria, TX, tonight to perform with Chris Wallis (drums). Once again, the patrons didn’t disappoint with their random tunes they wanted to hear. It’s not often where I play more Billy Idol songs than Billy Joel, but we did tonight. Oh, yeah, and “Boys In The Hood” goes great with “Benny and the Jets”. We’ll be back at it tomorrow night for more fun!
