Moonshine & Ale 11/28/15

I had a great night with Joe Resnick in New Braunfels at our all-request piano show! We had a seriously large crowd waiting for us before we even hit note one. People jumped on stage and danced randomly, and birthdays were celebrated in many different ways, including my family's favorite way, The Chicken Dance. I've never seen so many people jump up in a Pavlovian response to hearing that tune as I did tonight. Joe even commented on how good the "clap clap clap clap" part of the song sounded. He wasn't wrong.

Taxi's Pianobar 11/27/15

Black Friday in my favorite basement bar in San Marcos, Texas went well! The always cheery Taxi Haskell on drums joined me in getting the crowd involved in my post-birthday show. A couple other folks were also celebrating their birthdays, so we sang to them & played their requests, as you do. Another fun night checked off my list!

Moonshine & Ale 11/26/15

Happy thanksgiving! My day started off in Katy, TX with a bunch of family and friends, with great food made by my brother and sister-in-law. Today was also my birthday, so there was cake and presents after our meal! Then, I hurried back to San Marcos with my wife, dropped her off, and headed to my show in New Braunfels. Everyone was in good spirits in the club, and they challenged me to put a tiny bit of Christmas in each song, which I did. At the end of the night, the crowd sang me an impromptu "Happy Birthday" while I was packing up to head home! It was a good day.

Jack's Roadhouse 11/21/15

Our show at Jack's in San Marcos last night was fun! Chris Wallis was super-groovy on the drums, which I love. That kick, woo!!! Kevin Humphry's bass lines were as tasty as his chicken fingers. Special guest guitarist Steven Gutierrez fit in nicely with the group, especially considering it was his first show with us, and with no rehearsal. He's a talented guy. Heck, they're all talented guys, and that's why DanHolmesGroup gigs are so much fun!

Thanks to my wife for some great pictures!

Taxi's Pianobar 11/20/15

Taxi's was insanely packed this evening! All of San Marcos turned up to dance and sing along, so we provided the music for them to do so. It was by far one of the busiest nights I can remember at my favorite basement bar, and one of the only times I've seen crowd surfing with 8' ceilings. Taxi rocked the drums, and it was fun playing a great gig with him. Thanks for all the requests, people!

Moonshine & Ale 11/19/15

New Braunfels is where I was tonight, and taking requests is what I was doing. I've never had so many requests for Hall & Oats and also The Band as I did tonight! Thanks to the crowd for giving me some good tunes to play.

Howl At The Moon Houston 11/18/15

I joined Michael and DJ in Houston tonight to duel some pianos at Howl. We had a decent crowd for a Wednesday, and lots of good requests. It's fun playing with two great multi instrumentalist and singers! The night flew by, and now for the long drive home...

Moonshine & Ale 11/14/15

Wow, New Braunfels was packed tonight! Mikey Gammon, the man-mon wit da plan-mon, helped me whip the crowd into a frenzy of sing-along sharks, waiting for their next musical chum. We both took turns joking around with the crowd, and playing all the hits people requested. Thanks Moonshine & Ale peeps for hanging out with us!

Taxi's Pianobar 11/13/15

Chris Wallis made it funky in San Marcos tonight. I was there. I know just how funky it got. The was so much funk, people were slipping on it on the dance floor. So much funk that Eddie Baty had to relieve Chris Wallis for a few tunes so Chris could wash the funk off. Eddie then made it too sexy, what with his Pert shampoo smell and coy smile. Chris returned to the stage and proceeded to re-sexify it with his brand of awesome funk, while Eddie sexified the audience, with the help of Ian Lee.

And Pert shampoo.

It was a good night.

Moonshine & Ale 11/12/15

I did my show tonight in New Braunfels, where they are still making improvements to the club, this time, to all the windows in the front. The place will look even better when the windows are redesigned. Tonight's show went fine with lots of singing and dancing. I'll return to Moonshine & Ale Saturday!

Hyatt Hill Country Resort 11/10/15

Matt Wilson and I played a corporate party for ACCC tonight in San Antonio for Howl2Go (Howl At The Moon), and it went great! We knew it would be fun when they asked us to introduce a birthday in Swedish. Yep. I did that. Bork! We had a great PA & lighting company set up for us, a crowd who decided it would be more fun on stage with us, and an endless amount of requests, so all-in-all, a great success. Also, thanks to my friend Eddie Baty for the set up & tear down help, and some good pictures!

Muddle 11/7/15

Roger Glenn and I locked in together and performed a three-hour show for the partygoers in Waco, Texas! I'm pretty sure that a wedding party from the venue next door decided to just come stay with us for the evening, because we had lots of people in suits and matching dresses cutting up on the dance floor. The house was packed once again, and Roger helped me keep them entertained all night long. You rock, Roger!

Moonshine & Ale 11/6/15

Mikey Gammon helped me get the crowd involved tonight in New Braunfels. We played a solid 3-hour set of requests to a packed house. A few birthdays and bachelorettes were celebrating with us, so of course, we brought each of them up on stage! Thanks, Mikey for another solid show!

Moonshine & Ale 11/5/15

For my second show of the day, I went back to New Braunfels, Texas to play requests for my Thursday friends! Singing people requesting songs to sing makes the songs I sing even more singable. Say that five times fast, and come see me tomorrow night as I return to Moonshine & Ale!

Angelo State University 11/5/15

The long trek out to San Angelo, Texas for our Howl2Go show today was worth the trip! Danny Smith was my dueling partner for the lunch time show. We had an amazing amount of requests on the piano, which you can see in the picture. We felt well loved at the end of the show, as everyone wanted to have their picture taken with us. Now, I just hope we don't become a meme.

Muddle 10/31/15

Mikey "the werewolf" Gammon and I with my full Joker swagger took Waco, Texas by song for a huge Halloween party! The energy was high in the club all night. Tons of costumed people came out to get down, so we provided appropriate getting-down music. I love Halloween!
