Desiderata Estates 5/30/17

I played some blues tonight in Lockhart, TX with Jimmy T & The Teardrops. It was a fun night, and near the end, a sax player and another guitarist joined us for a few tunes. I dig this venue! DanHolmesGroup will make our first appearance here on June 22, 2017 so come on out!

Cathedral Oaks 5/28/17

Wedding reception tonight in Belton, TX for Howl2Go with Adrian, Katie and myself went great! We played a couple hours of requests for the newlyweds and their guests before the storms outside made people nervous enough to call it an early night and head home. Everyone said they had fun, but when a break in the torrential downpours happen, you can't blame anyone for trying to get home safely. Congratulations to newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. Kline!

Moonshine & Ale 5/27/17

I played with a couple talented fellas tonight. David Lee & Michael Sueiro joined me on stage in New Braunfels. We had a packed house with lots of requests, and we knocked out 92% of them! I enjoyed hearing Mike play sax a few times throughout the night, and the crowd dug it, too.

Moonshine & Ale 5/26/17

Danny Smith and I shared the stage tonight in New Braunfels. We had a big crowd, played tons of requests, and generally had a good time. Super Mario kept creeping into songs, but it just made the tunes level up. Thanks to the folks at Moonshine & Ale for a good time!

Desiderata Estates 5/23/17

Blues day Tuesday in Lockhart! I hung out with Jimmy T. and the Teardrops for a couple fun filled hours of music. The music was so powerful, it blew Johnny (bass) clean off the stage at one point (he's fine)! We also had some good harmonica playing with us, great dancers dancing for us, and good vibes all around. I'll be back next Tuesday for more!

Howl At The Moon 5/22/17

I played in San Antonio tonight on the Riverwalk with Tommy, Denise, and Katie. There was a group from Australia who kept requesting nothing but AC/DC. Eventually, one of them paid the stage fee, and sat in on one of the AC/DC tunes on guitar. You never know how that's going to go, but that said, he was decent!

Seguin Brewing Company 5/20/17

I had a bunch of fun with my buddy, Chris Wallis (drums), tonight at Seguin Brewing Company. There wasn't a huge crowd, but the people who were there hung out and had fun with us. I originally thought that I was bringing my original band to an outdoor club in Schertz, TX, but this was a request show in Seguin. I play too many different small towns. Also, my wife took some cool pictures, and I'm lucky to have my very own photographer with me wherever I go!

Howl At The Moon 5/19/17

I filled in at the San Antonio river walk Howl At The Moon tonight. We had a good crowd, and a steady stream of requests. Ashleigh Pike's (pictured on drums) last night was this evening, so I'm glad I had a chance to perform with her again before she goes off to have her baby! Only after the show was over and I was headed home did we realize it was another player, Denise's, birthday. So happy birthday, Denise!

Crafthouse 5/18/17

Heather Ray and I had the crowd singing with us in San Marcos tonight. We had a good group of people hanging out with us, as we played (and switched off instruments). Heather is great to work with, and I had a good time tonight performing with her!

Desiderata Estates 5/16/17

I sat in this evening with Jimmy T & The Teardrops in Lockhart, TX. My wife, Christine, arrived early and we had some Black's BBQ before the show. A night with my love, BBQ, & blues music is a good Tuesday to me! Thanks to her for this great picture, and thanks to Jimmy & the guys for letting me play some blues.

Moonshine & Ale 5/13/17

Big crowd was full of energy tonight as David Lee and I swapped off piano playing while Joe Resnick held the beat down! About every 45 minutes, either David or I would work the crowd into a frenzy in New Braunfels. I feel lucky to work with talented musicians like this in my daily life.

Crafthouse 5/12/17

A rare Friday night piano show in San Marcos tonight with Brian Carlisle went well! We had a good graduation weekend crowd, and took requests all night long. Brian is a solid drummer, and a pleasure to work with. Thanks to everyone for the requests tonight!

Tantra Coffeehouse 5/9/17

DanHolmesGroup played at Tantra in San Marcos tonight, narrowly missing the rain! We set up just as the sky opened up briefly, then it cooled off, a full moon appeared, and we played a couple hours of our brand of funky original tunes. A few highlights were Ian Lee singing "Kansas City", Kevin Humphry singing "Get Out Of My Life Woman", Chris Wallis making an announcement about tipping the band, and me letting everyone know that this could be my last song ever. You just never know when you're gonna sing your final song. Whoa. The blog just got dark! We had fun!!!

Tantra Coffeehouse 5/7/17

I had a great time today playing with Ian Lee in San Marcos. We decided to do a Beatles Brunch, so from 11a-2p, we played a bunch of our favorite Fab Four tunes. The show went great (although we were sitting in the sun which made some of our gear overheat). I loved hanging out with the folks in San Marcos, all sharing the music of one of my all-time favorite groups!

Moonshine & Ale 5/6/17

It was a big night in New Braunfels! We did a show from 8:30p-12:45a, with Tommy Raye and I swapping off on the piano, and Andrae Blissett on drums. There was a big street fest outside which wrapped up just about the time we began, so the club was packed. I enjoyed my evening playing with these two talented fellas. Thanks, New Braunfels!

Moonshine & Ale 5/5/17

Heather Ray and I swapped off instruments in New Braunfels, Texas tonight for a Cinco de Mayo (Revenge of the Fifth) basketball-game-watching all-request piano show. There were drinks and basketballs and songs and Star Wars explanations and dancing. And alcohol. Which helped people with the dancing. It was a pleasure playing with the talented Heather Ray. I'm looking forward to our next show together!

Moonshine Drinkery 5/4/17

Chris Wallis and I played our monthly show in Victoria, TX tonight! Great crowd brought up a widely varied amount of requests, and we played as many as we could in our two-hour time slot. We always have fun in Victoria. Tonight we played "Whole Lotta Love" as per request. Pretty cool! Oh, yeah, and...
May the fourth be with you.
