Moonshine & Ale 9/29/22

We started off slow, but the crowd came in for Live Band Karaoke tonight in New Braunfels, TX. It’s always interesting to talk to the crowd after the show. I get so many compliments about the band and how good we sound, and then they’ll tell me how good of a drummer they think I am. It’s funny to me because I never thought of myself as a drummer, and I never expected to play drums ever on a stage, yet here I am! I always love hearing the compliments. 

Rockin J Piano Bar 9/24/22

Dancing, dancing, and more dancing happened tonight during our show in Cedar Park! Heather and I just kept the fun rolling all night for everyone who came to request songs and let their hair down. We even had a fan who lucked into seeing us three times in different cities! She first saw us in Bandera, TX, then she showed up in Victoria, TX, and again tonight in Cedar Park! What makes our show so special is how much Heather and I love each other and playing together. You just can’t fake good chemistry, and people really recognize that, from Bandera to Victoria to Cedar Park! 

Moonshine & Ale 9/23/22

Tonight started with about five tables at 8:30p, which made me nervous, but by 9:30p, we had a full room and a ridiculous amount of requests! Heather and I swapped instruments all night, so we both helped fun bachelorette parties and birthdays celebrate. I even was asked to play “Freebird” for a divorce party, so I did. 

The Woodlands Resort 9/22/22

Greystar had us return for our second event for them, this time in The Woodlands, TX. They are a great group, and Heather and I agreed on how fun the show was! We performed 2.5 hours of requests, and the crowd danced and sang with us the whole show. They fed us before the show some delicious sliders, and stuck around after the show for photos. During our last few songs a bunch of giant balloons used as part of the decorations were batted around the ballroom, and you can see one in one of the pictures! Such a fun night, and I hope they have us back in the future for another event! 

Moonshine & Ale 9/17/22

I can’t believe how many bachelorettes, bachelors, and birthdays we helped people celebrate tonight in New Braunfels, TX! It was non-stop from the moment we took the stage. Heather is a certified rock star, and I cherish every show we play together! She was on fire tonight while we swapped back and forth all night. Ed joined us at 10pm on drums which made it easier for me to pick up the keytar a few times throughout the night. I am so thankful that I get to not only perform music for a living, but also to be able to do it with one of my best friends! 

Rockin J Piano Bar 9/16/22

Heather and I played in Cedar Park tonight. It was a fun, and busy show! It’s not often that the crowd asks us for things like a mash-up of  “Party In The USA” and “Ring Of Fire”, but we got that one tonight. “I Can Dream About You”, “Fight The Good Fight”, “Hungry Eyes” and more requests like those kept us on our toes. We’ll be in New Braunfels for our Saturday night show and take another round of requests! 

Moonshine & Ale 9/15/22

Live Band Karaoke started off slow again tonight at 8:30pm, but packed out by 10pm. Pancho sounded great on guitar, and Heather kept everyone who wanted to sing rotating on and off the stage while keeping perfect time on the drums. I was on keys tonight, and had a bunch of fun performing with those two. I liked that we had several songs performed that not many people have done in the past. That always makes the night more enjoyable to me to get a chance to play something a little different! 

San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter 9/13/22

What did you do on a Tuesday? Heather and I spent our Tuesday night in San Antonio, representing NY/NY Dueling Pianos at a convention, where we played once again for the fun folks at Merichem Company! We played four hours of non-stop requests, and made each other laugh all night long. This was our second time performing for this same group, and we absolutely loved the energy in the room. They’ve said they’d like us back next year, and we’d be happy to do it! 

Lion Sam Farrow Amphitheater 9/10/22

Temple, TX, welcomed us back for the end of their concert series tonight! It was perfect weather for this, and we loved performing for the crowd. We played as the sun went down, and the phones came out to light the night during their favorite songs! Lots of kids danced throughout our 2-hour show. People were raving about our show to us afterwards, which always feels good. Pretty much a perfect night, except for the unusual amount of mosquitoes! 

Seguin Bar and Billiards 9/9/22

Heather and I played in Seguin tonight from 9p-midnight. We helped with a 61st birthday, and a 45th wedding anniversary. The night went great, and we had some pretty amazing dancers. So glad we were able to come back to SB&B! Afterwards, we headed back to my house where my wife was waiting to play games with us. I’m the luckiest. 

Moot Music Cafe 9/9/22

We returned to Facebook today for a livestream on Moot’s page. I like live-streaming because we get even more off-center requests than our in-person shows. Plus, there’s a monkey. I like monkeys. 

Moonshine & Ale 9/8/22

Heather and I played Live Band Karaoke with Pancho Garza on guitar. It was a little slow at first, but things picked up about at our halfway point. There were lots of friends of the band there tonight, and even some of the former employees joined us for some fun! 

Moonshine & Ale 9/4/22

Bachelorettes and bachelors, birthdays and anniversaries all were celebrating tonight in New Braunfels on our special Sunday-before-Labor-Day show. Heather and I swapped between piano and drums all night while trying to keep up with the huge influx of requests. She is so much fun to work with, and one of my absolute best friends. Her husband was there tonight, too, which was great to see him again! I’m super-lucky to have a job I love with great friends around me. 

Moonshine & Ale 9/2/22

I had a great day with Heather! We got up late, and after a few things I had to do around the house, we headed to the river for a bit of snorkeling. When we got there, the river was like glass, and barely anyone swimming. We saw tons of fish and turtles, and she collected a bunch of cool shells! We spent a couple hours there before heading home to get cleaned up and get ready for our show in New Braunfels. We arrived to a bunch of people just waiting for us to begin. The first hour was full of epic, long, story-songs like “Scenes From An Italian Restaurant”, “Live And Let Live” and “Total Eclipse Of The Heart”. We kept playing everyone’s requests right up until midnight. The last request of the night was “Paradise By The Dashboard Lights”. Guess the crowd was just into 8-minute tunes tonight! 

Moonshine & Ale 9/1/22

I can’t believe it’s already September. Time flies, then stops, then it’s September. For our first show of the month, Heather and I played at Live Band Karaoke with Josh McCoy on guitar for the first time, and he did a great job! The bar was full, and we had some really great singers up. Heather and I will return Friday and Sunday for piano bar!
