Howl At The Moon 8/30/16

A Tuesday night on the riverwalk in San Antonio found me on stage with Ryan, Mark, and Ed, all taking requests from the crowd. I had fun with one woman who joined me on stage to sing "I Want You To Want Me". She rocked it! My favorite comment tonight came from a man who had stood 4 feet away from one of the pianos all night. He stood in the same spot for about two-and-a-half hours. At the end of the show, he approached me and said, "Hey," long pause. "I've been waiting all night to ask," longer pause. "Is it hard to sing?" to which I said, "Not if you practice." He gave me a thumbs up and walked away.

Howl At The Moon 8/29/16

I performed again tonight in San Antonio, and it was a good night. Tommy, Mark, Mike and I had a crowd who wanted lots of 70s & 80s, so we played lots for them. It was a good Monday.

Angelo State University 8/26/16

Today, Chris Wallis and I drove to San Angelo, where we met up with Danny Smith to perform a Howl2Go show (Howl At The Moon). The students were great tonight! They brought up lots of requests and sang along to a bunch of tunes. Danny and Chris are both very talented performers, and the night flew by for me because I enjoyed playing with them so much. Afterwards, we met a bunch of the students for pictures and autographs, including a guys shirt. Yep.

Gourdough's Public House 8/25/16

Roger Glenn and I played in downtown Austin tonight. He's a fun drummer to play with, and I challenged him with about every third song I played. The crowd asked for many tunes I'd never played before, but we did most of them anyway. My favorite random first-time request was "Take Me Home" by Phil Collins. We did it, and it sounded like we'd done it a hundred times!

Howl At The Moon 8/24/16

Today was my "day off". I went to bed about 4:30am, so I set my alarm to 12:30pm, but I woke up about 9am on my own. I got up & did some dishes, and then saw a text asking if I could cover a shift in San Antonio. I then mowed my lawn, showered, and headed south. I had a lot of fun tonight in the club with Mike, Mark and Heather, but I sure am tired now! G'nite!!!

Howl At The Moon 8/23/16

I couldn't stop laughing tonight in San Antonio, performing with Heather, Ed and Katie. People were not only bringing up odd requests, but they'd bring up the exact same odd request immediately after we played it once. The crowd liked dancing with moves not found in nature as well. Then, a college fight song battle broke out between Ohio State and a guy who didn't go to college but wanted a fight song anyway (which Ed brilliantly made up for the guy). Finally, by accident, Heather and I found out that Bruno Mars' "Just The Way You Are" and Neil Diamond's "America" are the same song. Awesome.

JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country 8/22/16

Howl2Go (Howl At The Moon) had us perform in San Antonio tonight for Fortinet as their after-conference entertainment. Joining me onstage was the great Dave Lovett on the opposite piano from me, and the rhythm section of Trevor Soetaert on bass and Chris Wallis on drums. We were supposed to start at 10p, but they asked if we could start at 9:45p (which we did) and then wanted an extra hour at the end because folks were having so much fun! The gig went smoothly thanks to the talented musicians I had the honor of working with tonight!

Howl At The Moon 8/21/16

It was a slow evening on the riverwalk in San Antonio. I think the massive amounts of rainfall the past few days may have something to do with it. I still enjoyed performing with the crew, and we had a chance to perform a wide variety of tunes of our choosing. I'll be back Tuesday night for more!

Rockey's Piano Bar 8/20/16

My first night in Round Rock, TX at the new piano bar was spent with drummer Mikey Gammon. It's a great room with an attentive crowd, and everyone was really friendly to me all evening long. I look forward to my next show at the best spot in Round Rock!

Moonshine & Ale 8/19/16

Chris Wallis and I kept the party moving in New Braunfels last night. We had birthdays and bachelors, sometimes on stage at the same time. I had some friends come out to the show, which is always nice. Chris made the night easy for me by being the awesome drummer he just naturally is!

Howl At The Moon 8/16/16

My Tuesday in San Antonio was spent with Heather, Adrian, Ryan and Ed on stage. We had lots of tunes requested, as we usually do! My favorite was "And Freebird". And I played it.

Howl At The Moon 8/15/16

The night in San Antonio started off with Heather & Tommy on stage, and then Adrian & I took over at shift change. The crowd was good and we had lots of requests, but unfortunately, while I was performing with Adrian, Tommy discovered his bag had gone missing. I hope he gets everything sorted out. Since he had to take care of his business, Mark came in to finish out the night. I wish people didn't feel the need to take what isn't theirs. Best wishes to Tommy.

Howl At The Moon 8/14/16

Even though it was slow and rainy, I still enjoyed performing with Heather, Tommy, and Mark in San Antonio tonight. I'm very fortunate and thankful for the life I lead. I've worked hard to be where I am, and I think sometimes I get caught up in my own head about life, but because I had a chance to spend a few quality hours with my wife before heading to a show with other talented musicians, I gained some perspective. My wife always can set me right!

Moonshine & Ale 8/13/16

Joe Resnick and I had a fantastic night in New Braunfels! We had a full house with more folks requesting tunes than I could keep up with. Joe (drums) played every tune like he was born with sticks in his hands. Fun times, indeed!

Gourdough's Public House 8/12/16

Austin was full of crazy people tonight! Chris Wallis and I played to a room full of them, and I had a good time. We took requests from 8pm-midnight, and even played a little extra for the crowd. Always a good time with the amazing Chris on drums!

Gourdough's Public House 8/11/16

Joe Resnick and I played our request show in Austin on 5th street. We helped celebrate a birthday and had several fun-loving tables singing and requesting tunes. Always enjoy playing new tunes with Joe!

Howl At The Moon 8/9/16

A Tuesday night show on the riverwalk in San Antonio went fine this evening! Heather, Mark, Ed and I played every song requested possible. My Aussie fans were back tonight, and once again had me play "Down Under" for them!

Howl At The Moon 8/8/16

I played in San Antonio with the crew at Howl At The Moon tonight. Adrian, Ryan, Katie and Tommy all joined in as we entertained the crowd. I think I'm gonna head home and maybe run off some excess energy!

Pecos County Civic Center 8/6/16

Man, oh, man, what an energetic crowd we had in Fort Stockton, Texas tonight for our Howl2Go (Howl At The Moon) dueling piano show! They brought up a seemingly endless stream of requests all evening, and danced to just about every kind of song imaginable. There was everything from line dances to chair dances to Michael Jackson dances and many more. My partner, Gray Gregson, handled the crowd like a champ during the tunes he performed. Chris Wallis (drums) and Kevin Humphry (bass) made the night so much more fun for me. I love playing with those fellas! After our 8p-midnight show, we packed up fast and headed to our hotel to get a few winks before heading back the about six-hours home. G' night!

Moonshine & Ale 8/5/16

Mikey Gammon played massive beats on the drums tonight while I played colossal requests. Gigantic words would mean nothing if it weren't for the hugeness of the crowd. I Smurfed my way through a bunch of Smurfy tunes, and Mikey sounded pretty Smurfy, too. I think I'm too tired to blog right now. Goodnight.

Howl At The Moon 8/2/16

We had a long night in San Antonio this evening! It started with a private event for "Eva's Heroes" a couple hours before we began our usual night. It was a nice event for a great cause! The rest of the evening went smoothly. I did set a personal record, though: I played "Bohemian Rhapsody" three times in one night. Amazing.

Howl At The Moon 8/1/16

Heather and I partnered up tonight in San Antonio, while Michael partnered with Mark. The four of us took turns taking requests, and making the crowd feel good. The bar was packed for a Monday night! I enjoyed performing with Heather. She was making me laugh all night.

Howl At The Moon 7/31/16

It was a slightly subdued crowd in San Antonio this evening. I still enjoyed performing with the crew, but when the crowd isn't energetic, it makes time move a little slower. Everyone still said great things about our show, so all is well! I'll be back tomorrow night for more!
