Darwin’s Pub 11/29/17

Wednesday night on 6th street in Austin, TX, with Chris Wallis was fun! Lots of great and unusual requests hit the piano tonight. I think we played more than an hour’s worth of tunes together for the very first time! Chris is such a pro drummer, and he makes it easy for me to have fun. Thanks to our new fans who just relocated from New Jersey to Austin (I can only assume it was to be closer to us, lol)!

Moonshine & Ale 11/25/17

The night before my birthday started off a little slow in New Braunfels, TX, but by the end of the night, the club was hopping! David Lee, Chris Wallis and I played tons of requests for the crowd, and at midnight, David serenaded me for my birthday! We had some fans onstage at the same time who danced for me as the crowd sang along with David. It was a great way to start my next trip around the sun.

Moonshine & Ale 11/24/17

New Braunfels, TX, is where Danny Smith and I performed our big day-after-thanksgiving Black-Friday show! We rocked around the Christmas tree and rode through a desert on a horse with no name. It was a weird request night.

Moonshine & Ale 11/23/17

Happy thanksgiving! Andrae and I took requests from the tryptophan-laced crowd tonight as people escaped their family for a little drinking and singing. We had some great requests and some thankful people in our audience. I’m glad I could spice up some people’s holiday tonight. I always enjoy playing with Andrae!

Wizard World Comic-Con Austin 11/19/17

Heather Ray and I represented Rock It Man Entertainment in Austin, TX this morning for a dueling pianos show from 10a-11:30a. Kato Kalin hosted our stage as the random fans in full costume came through the front doors of the convention center. This was one of my favorite shows I’ve done over the years with Heather! Christine Barton-Holmes came along as our photographer, and she took some great shots of the insanity. Heather is always a joy to work with, and her “I, Zombie” costume, complete with hot sauce was fantastic! Thanks to Rock It Man Entertainment for having us represent them in Austin!

Moonshine & Ale 11/17/17

David Lee and I played together in New Braunfels, TX, tonight. It was kind of an odd crowd, but they still were requesting songs and enjoying what we played for them. After the show, someone told me that the Michael Jackson tune I played was bad. I asked, “Bad, bad...or bad, good?” They said, “Bad like the baddest Michael Jackson ever played Bad”, so I was good!

Darwin’s Pub 11/14/17

Mikey Gammon and I played on 6th street tonight in Austin, TX. We had some great dancers and lots of requests. It was a good Tuesday night show! Best request was for “Mamma” (aka Bohemian Rhapsody).

Tantra 11/13/17

Our final Monday night show for 2017 was so much fun! Roger Glenn (drums), Kevin Humphry (guitar), Bill Ritter (bass) and I wore our Dan Camp shirts in honor of Bill’s first visit to Texas, where I kept him busy for a week. These fellas are true musicians and it was an honor sharing the stage with them (and also with Chris Wallis on Saturday night) while Bill was in town. Normally, Kevin plays bass with us, but he is a great guitarist too, so between listening to him on guitar and Bill’s interactions with a couple great drummers, I’ve been a happy camper at Dan Camp! A big thank you to Tantra for a fun season of shows, and also to Christine Barton-Holmes for always taking great photos of the group!

Jack’s Roadhouse 11/11/17

In San Marcos, TX, Bill Ritter played upright bass with Chris Wallis on drums and Kevin Humphrey on guitar! This was the first show for Bill in Texas, and the first show with Kevin on guitar. It was a great success, and fun because we kept calling it the “Dan Camp Talent Show”. Also, my parents, niece, brother and sister-in-law, and wife all showed up wearing “Dan Camp” shirts! So much fun.

Tantra 11/6/17

A wonderful Monday evening in San Marcos, TX, with my musical buddies, playing our brand of funky original tunes and oddball covers. We had a good and interactive crowd that sang and danced to our tunes. I like playing at Tantra, but next Monday is our last show for the winter holiday season. I’m sure we’ll return in 2018, but make sure to come out next Monday when guest bassist Bill Ritter will be joining us for our last scheduled show!

Moonshine & Ale 11/4/17

This is the beginning of Wurstfest in New Braunfels, TX, so the club was packed tonight! Roger Glenn (drums) and David Lee (piano) helped me entertain the crowd. It is my pleasure to share the stage with these two talented guys. Thanks to all for making our show fun!

Darwin’s Pub 11/3/17

Austin, Texas, on 6th street, on a Friday night Roger Glenn drummed while people danced to my ivory tickling. We had a good crowd and lots of good requests. I even had some fans in from New Braunfels, TX, to see us! A fella from Canada came up after the show to let us know he’d be back to find us, next time he was in the states.

Moonshine Drinkery 11/2/17

The night, dark and mysterious, full of unexplainable noises vaguely echoing memories of Genesis, Ariana Grande and The Beatles, found an above-average performance in us, Chris Wallis and Dan Holmes. Victoria, Texas, welcomed the vocal gymnastics to the warm evening graciously. Did the crowd sing like drunken wolves? Yes. Did we enjoy playing “Head Over Heals”? Yes.

Yes we did.

Moonshine & Ale 10/31/17

Halloween 2017 in New Braunfels, TX, was great! David Lee and I did our show as Harry Potter and Animal. We also set up a camera for the crowd to come up and get their pictures taken on stage with us. Since it was a rainy Tuesday night with a baseball game on, it wasn’t a packed house, but those who were there were in the full Halloween spirit! I had a great time, and my wife even came out to hang with us for a bit, and she took some photos, too!
