Rockin J Piano Bar 7/30/22

I’m a lucky guy. Heather is the best partner I could’ve ever hoped for. She and I had a great time as we bounced between drums and piano tonight in Cedar Park. The crowd is always so amazed by our chemistry and vast song knowledge, and a bunch couldn’t wait to talk to us after the show! They told us out of all the performances they’ve seen of others, we were their favorites! 

Rockey’s Piano Bar 7/29/22

We had at least three standing ovations throughout our show tonight in Round Rock, TX! Heather and I had lots of fun playing through the requests the crowd brought us. Everything from “Let It Go” to “Back In Black” to “Renegade” made its way onto the piano, and we had such a good crowd that they had us play an extra 30 minutes! Thanks, everyone! 

Moonshine & Ale 7/28/22

Heather, Pancho and I once again hosted Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels tonight! We had a packed house with lots of new singers. We made sure to let all of the new people know about our Fleetwood Mac show this Sunday at Moonshine & Ale! 

Moonshine & Ale 7/24/22

We performed the music of the Eagles tonight in New Braunfels! The room packed out, and we performed about two hours of music for them. J.K. Northway Expo Center

Judge Rudy Madrid saw Heather and I the last time we performed in Kingsville, TX, (where we were representing NY/NY Dueling Pianos) and arranged for us to perform for his fundraising event, this time with our good buddy Chris Wallis on drums. We had an overwhelming amount of requests, but we got through a lot of them during our nearly four-hour set. Heather helped the crowd figure out some dances to songs, I kept making people laugh, and Chris gave everyone a solid heartbeat to move to. The crowd left happy with many promises of having us back for a future event! 

Moonshine & Ale 7/22/22

Packed house in New Braunfels, TX, tonight brought us lots of requests to get through! Heather and I did as many as we could in the time we had on stage together. She always makes me laugh, and tonight was no different. It is a privilege to work with this amazingly talented woman!

Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels took place again tonight with a packed room! We had quite a few singers join us throughout the night. One of our regulars just had a baby, and she introduced us tonight before the show! Congrats again, Sam & Brandon! 

Moonshine & Ale 7/17/22

Tom Petty night at Moonshine & Ale in New Braunfels was lots of fun! Heather Shook (vocals), Chris Wallis (drums), Pancho Garza (guitar), Bret Cline (bass), and me, Dan Holmes (keys, vocals) played 24 of Tom’s most famous tunes. This summer concert series is just getting more and more fun! 

Running M Bar & Grill 7/16/22

We drove to Gonzalez, TX, for our show tonight. The crowd brought us lots of requests, as Heather and I swapped instruments all evening. We blew a few people’s minds when we did! I’m so glad I get to gig with Heather. She makes life better. 

Barrels and Amps 7/15/22

Dueling Pianos show took place in Georgetown, TX, tonight with me and my best buddy Heather! We had a good crowd with eclectic tastes in music, but it worked to our advantage because we had requests for everything from Tears For Fears’ “Shout” to Jimi Hendrix’ “Red House”. Two of four weekend shows now done. We’re heading to Gonzalez tomorrow night, then a full band Tom Petty show on Sunday in New Braunfels. Hope to see you there! 

Moonshine & Ale 7/14/22

By 10:30p, Moonshine & Ale in New Braunfels was packed full, like it was a Friday night! Heather, Pancho and I provided the backing tracks for an endless sea of people. Don’t forget that this Sunday, the three of us along with Chris Wallis and Brett Cline, will be playing 2 hours of Tom Petty on this stage! 

Moonshine & Ale 7/10/22

We performed the music of Elton John tonight in New Braunfels. It was a two hour show featuring all Elton tunes, and it went great! The band sounded phenomenal, and once again, I was proud to share the stage with those talented musicians. We had lots of people fill the bar, and many friends and repeat customers were there to support us. Thanks to everyone for coming to watch us, featuring Pancho Garza (guitar), Anthony Sanders (bass), Chris Wallis (drums), my partner Heather Shook (vocals and percussion) and me! 

Blake's Kitchen & Kocktailz 7/9/22

It’s been a while since we’ve been out to Blake’s, but that’s because they moved next door to make their restaurant 3x bigger than before! We’re so excited to see their business doing great, and I’m happy that they called us back to perform one their new giant stage. The food was great, and the crowd was into our show which made the evening fly by. I’m looking forward to the next time we get to head back to Columbus, TX, for another fun show! 

Sean Patrick’s Irish Pub 7/8/22

We played in San Marcos tonight at Sean Patrick’s for the first time. I enjoyed performing with Heather, as I always do, and the crowd really enjoyed our show! The staff was really nice and the food is too-notch! One benefit to performing so close to home for once was being able to go swim the river with Heather (and our buddy Chris before the show). My wife was also able to come to the show, and took these pictures! 

House Pasture Cattle Co 7/7/22

We performed in Concan, TX, on this hot Thursday night. NY/NY Dueling Pianos has booked this 11-week run there, and I’m glad Heather and I were able to do one. It was a really fun show! We played a couple of warm-up songs, and then a young man with special-needs came up onto the stage behind me. A man came up and explained that the young man loved music and loved to sing, and really wanted to sing the Star-Spangled Banner with us, so that’s exactly what we did! He picked up a mic and sang along with me, and the crowd exploded with pride after he finished! The rest of the night just went better and better from that point, finishing with people in the crowd telling us we were their favorite part of their summer so far, and the venue’s very talented soundman told us it was the best show he had seen. It made Heather and I very happy to hear that from them!

Moonshine & Ale 7/4/22

Beatles night in New Braunfels was so much fun on a beautiful July 4th Monday evening! The band tonight consisted of (me) Dan Holmes (keys, vocals), Cameron Martin (drums), Pancho Garza (guitar), Heather Shook (vocals and percussion), Phillip Henderson (acoustic), and Josh McCoy (bass). All these musicians put in a ton of work on this show, and the audience could tell! Nothing but my praise for the way the whole thing sounded and was performed. Even though these cover nights have been a TON of work, I’m really enjoying getting to perform with this kind of talent each week. Next Sunday, we do a full show of Elton John!

Moonshine & Ale 7/3/22

In a rare Sunday night show in New Braunfels, we played lots of very random requests. U2’s “Beautiful Day”, Supertramp’s “Breakfast in America”, and Led Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll” are just a few examples. We’ll be back for a full-band, 2-hour long Beatles show on Monday July 4th at 9p! 

Moonshine & Ale 7/2/22

Happy birthday to my beautiful wife, Christine! Heather and I took her out to eat before we headed to New Braunfels for our big Saturday night show with drummer Chris Wallis. The show was a bunch of fun, and we were SLAMMED with requests, especially the last hour. It was great to see many fans of ours show up tonight. We had some regulars from Victoria, New Braunfels, Austin and some people who had only seen us doing our livestreams. Heather and Chris made the show so much fun for me, and I’m glad I got to perform with them tonight. I’ve got to give one more big birthday shout out to my love, Christine! 

Rockin’ J Piano Bar 7/1/22

I love performing with Heather. She makes me happy, and she’s willing to tackle any challenge. We had some fans in the audience tonight in Cedar Park, and we made some new fans! They all could tell how much we enjoy sharing the stage together, so much so that we even did an encore. 

Moonshine & Ale 6/30/22

Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels was packed tonight. Pancho, Heather and I had a steady flow of people come up to sing with us. One guy even told us how welcoming we always make him and his friends feel. That means we’re doing our job right!
