Muddle 6/28/14

I drove to Waco, Texas tonight to perform a request piano show with my friend, Roger Glenn on drums. Muddle is a super cool club, with lots of great people working there. I always have fun in Waco, and tonight was no different. My favorite event of the evening was watching a brand new married couple dance with each other on stage. I was flattered to think that first thing they wanted to do as a married couple was come see the show!

AJ's Ale House 6/27/14

Chris Wallis (drums) and I performed to a at-capacity crowd in New Braunfels, TX tonight. Chris sounded great as he performed the backbone to all the requests I was given. We had a HUGE group of Parrot-heads come in at about 10pm, and they really brought the energy way up in the room. We also had a bunch of fans come sit in the front rows, and I was grateful for their requests! It was just a huge party all night.

AJ's Ale House 6/26/14

What an unbelievably busy night I had in New Braunfels, Texas tonight! It started off somewhat slow, but by 10 o'clock, the place was pretty full. I may have set a new record for the amount of requests I performed. It felt like all evening long someone was hanging out next to the piano, writing down a song, or singing along with me. Thanks, folks!

ABI Airport 6/26/14

The Hill Country Gentlemen welcomed people to the city of Austin today at a show inside the airport. We had guest drummer Chris Wallis with us, and the band sounded great! We sold many CDs and lots of people came up to find out more about us on break. My favorite comment came from one man who said, "Do you know what I like about your band? There's no grandstanding. Even sound, all around." That's a big accomplishment in my book.

AJ's Ale House 6/21/14

I was re-united with my buddy Joe Resnick (drums) tonight in New Braunfels, Texas for a request piano show, and it was a fun one! Anyone who has heard Joe play knows what an amazing talent he is. With a full house of people singing and dancing, the night went by very quickly as we performed non-stop requests. Nothing but smiling faces as I watched people at the very end of the night leave the bar.

The Angry Elephant 6/20/14

Michael Gammon and I performed in San Antonio tonight. There was a rattle coming from his tom only Mikey could hear, so on break, I inspected his drums with him. I found nothing. At least the rattle was in perfect time with all the songs we played. Good job, Mr. Gammon.

AJ's Ale House 6/19/14

Before heading to my gig tonight in New Braunfels, TX, my wife and I closed on our house in San Marcos, making us proud owners of our perfect home! We went out for a celebratory pizza, went to Lowe's to buy some new house stuff, and then I headed to my gig. The night at AJ's was great, with a nearly full house and non-stop requests. The people were singing and generally having a good time with me right up until closing. Then, I headed home to my house, which I now own...woohoo!

Palmer Clubhouse 6/17/14

In San Antonio, Texas, tonight I was joined by Matt Wilson (piano) and Chris Wallis (drums) to perform a Howl At The Moon "Howl-2-Go" dueling piano show for the people of Lab Corp. We performed a two-and-a-half-hour show full of requests from the audience, and they were full of compliments at the end of the evening! Palmer Golf Course is really beautiful, and I had a great time performing with Chris and Matt there. Also, a very big shout-out to Troy Stone, who helped with gear tonight and made the evening run so smoothly. Thanks, Troy!

Taxi's Piano Bar 6/14/14

Steak sauce. We started tonight in San Marcos, Texas to just a few tables, but soon the club packed out. Lots of birthdays were celebrated and lots of polo shirts were worn. Taxi Haskel drummed, and Chris Wallis sat in for a few tunes, too! Crazy night in my neighborhood.

HEB 6/14/14

Today at MY HEB, The Hill Country Gentlemen (with guest drummer Chris Wallis) performed a couple hours of good rockin' Americana music to the people as the grocery shopped for Combo Locos. It's always a good time with the Gents, and if you missed this show, you not only missed great music, but also free samples of food throughout the store. Listening to a band while you buy milk? Combo Loco, indeed.

AJ's Ale House 6/13/14

Moohoohaahaa! Friday the 13th! Moohoohaahaa! Chris Wallis and I played some scary-good tunes tonight under the full moon light. New Braunfels brought out the party goers to request a bunch-o-songs, and we played as many as time allowed. Moohoohaahaa!

AJ's Ale House 6/12/14

Tonight's show in New Braunfels, Texas was delayed two hours because of the Spurs game. I thought for sure I would only be playing to the three people who were in the bar to watch the game, but the second the game was over, the bar filled with people who were waiting for the piano show to start! The last hour the bar was open, my piano was flooded with requests, and as the rain started to fall outside, the stage started to get a little wet from a leak in the ceiling. All in all, a great night for a piano show!

Taxi's Piano Bar 6/7/14

Chris Wallis drummed beautiful rhythms, in tune with the universe and in time with all the songs I threw at him. Birthdays, engagements, and general good times were celebrated in the cool basement club in San Marcos. I was happy to perform another show with Chris, and thank you to everyone for the compliments after the show!

Happy Cow 6/7/14

The Happy Cow in Hunter, TX is now open again! The Hill Country Gentlemen performed an hour set on the outdoor stage on a beautiful evening. The band was tight, and I enjoyed myself. We also had a man sit in on a couple of tunes on his squeezebox. Fun night of music all around!

Angry Elephant 6/6/14

Roger Glenn and I performed a request piano show in San Antonio, TX tonight. The crowd was in a classic rock mode, so we played lots of '60s, '70s, & '80s tunes, including a ton of Hall & Oats and Fleetwood Mac! Roger was solid on drums as we performed many tunes for the first time together this evening. Thanks, everyone!

AJ's Ale House 6/5/14

A couple of birthdays helped to revive what would have been a somewhat slow evening in New Braunfels, Texas tonight for my request piano show. The San Antonio Spurs were playing, so at the beginning of the night, most people were glued to the TV. Fortunately, they all decided to stay in the crowd grew steadily all night long.

Taxi's Piano Bar 5/31/14

I met Cecilio Ruiz (drummer) tonight in San Marcos, TX to perform for a good crowd tonight at Taxi's. We did some celebrating of birthdays and weddings in between a bunch of song requests. I enjoyed my first show with Cecilio! He is a world-class drummer.
