Muck & Fuss 1/29/23

I thought it might rain today in New Braunfels for our show on the patio at Muck & Fuss, but it turned out to be a beautiful day to play some music! Chris Wallis joined me on drums as we played a bunch of my original tunes and some New Orleans favorites. We had a good burger there for lunch, and it ended up being a great way to cap off our weekend!

Rockin J Piano Bar 1/28/23

I went up to Cedar Park, TX, with my buddy Chris Wallis to take requests for the evening. He was filling in for Heather (due to illness), and it went great! We played lots of unusual songs, and helped celebrate a birthday. I enjoyed all the dancers we had, too! It’s nice when everyone has a good time!

Sean Patrick’s Irish Pub 1/27/23

Chris Wallis filled in for Heather tonight in San Marcos, and it was great to play with him again! We had a good crowd for our 7p-10p show. We also had some very interesting and widely varied song requests, but we did our best to keep up!

Rockin J Piano Bar 1/26/23

I drove up to Cedar Park tonight to play a solo show. I was a little nervous when I arrived because there weren’t many people there, but by the time I started to play at 8:30p, the crown started filing in! I had lots of good requests, and lots of great compliments. Heather will be with me when we return to Rockin J this Saturday!

English Newsome Cellars 1/21/23

We performed our Dueling Pianos show in Lubbock, Texas, tonight for a charity, raising money for the West Texas Children’s Chorus. They were connected through Texas Tech, so there were lots of faculty and sponsors there to support the choir. Heather and I had a great time! We helped a few people, celebrate their birthdays, one of which was a gentleman who had played drums with some of Buddy Holly‘s band mates, and he was a delight to talk to. As we ended our show, we received a standing ovation from the crowd, and many people came up to tell us how much they enjoyed what we do. It was so great to hear that from a room full of musicians. Now begins the 6 1/2 hour long drive home!

Rockin J Piano Bar 1/20/23

What a day! I started off  by repairing a keyboard for Moonshine & Ale. Then, I made my way to discount tire to pick up a spare for Heather. I swung through the Panera drive-through for some lunch for everyone at my house, and headed home. A friend of mine, bassist Jeremiah Sawyer, asked if he could come record a song for his mother’s funeral, which is happening tomorrow, so I was glad to help him out by doing a quick recording session. Although the reason was sad, it was nice to see him again. I then got ready for our show in Cedar Park, Texas, which is where I met up with my partner Heather to take requests from the crowd for three hours! We finished up, packed quickly, and just got in the car to head to our next show in Lubbock. There’s never a dull moment.

Moonshine & Ale 1/19/23

Heather and I were so glad to share the stage again tonight with Pancho! He’s always fun to perform with. Tonight was busy, but everyone was more relaxed than usual, which made the night easier. Live Band Karaoke is always entertaining!

Kissing Tree 1/17/23

We performed our dueling pianos show tonight in San Marcos, TX, for the good people at Kissing Tree! Heather and I played a solid 3-hour show of requests like “Pink Houses”, “Dancing Queen”, “Pride (In The Name Of Love)” and “Uptown Funk”, plus so many more. We even had a dance-off to “Baby Got Back”! It was a fun show.

Muck & Fuss 1/15/23

It’s January, 69°, lightly windy, and a great day for our gig on the patio in New Braunfels, TX! Pancho and I ran through a ton of fun tunes today. We played our blend of New Orleans bluesy tunes and my original material from 1p-4p. I really enjoy getting an opportunity to perform my favorite tunes. We’ll be back in two weeks to perform some more!

Moonshine & Ale 1/14/23

This was the busiest I have seen Moonshine & Ale when no other events were in town. The place was absolutely packed when we arrived! Heather and I swapped between drums and piano until 10pm when Noel joined us on the drums. We really had a fun night together!

Moonshine & Ale 1/13/23

Between birthdays and bachelorettes, we had a lot of people in celebrating with us tonight! Heather and I had a lot of fun with fans and new people alike. We had several Dolly Parton requests as well as some random Rolling Stones and disco songs. We played as many as possible! I love performing with Heather, and the two of us will be back tomorrow night!

Moot Music Cafe 1/13/23

Our first show of the day took place on a Facebook livestream. We Mooted it up while simultaneously streaming to our page, and we had some good requests. When folks weren’t requesting tunes, we played lots of songs which we don’t usually get a chance to play. My favorite was “A Kiss To Build A Dream On”. Although singing about bananas in random tunes was also fun!

Moonshine & Ale 1/12/23

We had a decent crowd tonight in New Braunfels, TX! Lots of singers wanted to join Heather, Anthony and me on stage for Live Band Karaoke. We had a few whisper-singers, a few semi-pros, a few up-on-a-dare, and a few duets. That’s a pretty good and diverse crowd!

The Beltonian Theatre 1/7/23

Wow! Belton, TX, was rocking at our matinee show this afternoon! We played from 11am-2pm, and had a great time. Heather wowed the crowd with everything from Dolly Parton to Katy Perry, and I was given song requests which said specifically “Dan MUST sing this” like “Man, I Feel Like A Woman”. It really made me laugh when they asked us to do “Barbie Girl” with a roll reversal. It was such a good time! We’ll be back in June on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th!

The Beltonian Theatre 1/6/23

We did our first show for the good folks in Belton, TX, tonight. We had a sold-out show! The crowd was really amazing, and gave us great requests to choose from. It’s always so much fun to have a crowd dancing in their seats and singing along with us like this one did. One lady held up her phone all night long with different messages and signs for us! We loved seeing everything she’d come up with as we played through Jerry Lee Lewis, Journey, Genesis and so many more. We have a matinee show at 11am at the Beltonian, so I gotta get some rest!

Moonshine & Ale 1/5/23

Thursday night means Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels, TX! Heather played bass tonight because Elisa Carlson was playing keys. She’s in for the weekend from Chicago. This was our first chance to work with her, and she was great! It was an unusually busy night, but we got as many people up as we could. Greg played guitar. That’s my abrupt ending to this blog post.

Muck & Fuss 1/1/23

New Year’s Day was beautiful in New Braunfels, TX! Pancho Garza and I played a 3-hour show from 1p-4p on the patio at Muck & Fuss. It was so much fun to get a chance to perform my original tunes and New Orleans classics with him. His son joined us to perform a couple of the Beatles songs to kick off our second set, and he nailed the guitar solos! I’m so happy we got a chance to do this today. It was a great start to 2023!

Moonshine & Ale 12/31/22

Happy New Year! We rung in 2023 on stage in New Braunfels, TX, to a crowd wanting very wide and varied requests. I had a great time with my amazing partner Heather, and the legendary Mr. Chris Wallis on drums. I was very happy to be with our Moonshine & Ale family to ring in 2023, and I’m excited to see what the new year holds for us!
