Moonshine & Ale 4/28/17

Yeah! Chris Wallis and I had them losing their minds in New Braunfels tonight. We played our all-request show from 9p-midnight, and had lots of different kinds of things brought up to us. We tackled everything from 'N Sync to Barry Manilow to Led Zeppelin to Train. Always a treat to get to perform with Chris!

Crafthouse 4/27/17

San Marcos, TX was full of dancers and sports fans tonight. I took requests from the crowd,  and Brian Carlisle helped me perform those requests with his drum beats. I wasn't sure how the night was going to go because when we started, there was a game on TV, and everyone was watching, but when we started, we had them dancing all night! Great job, Brian!

Desiderata Estates 4/25/17

Jimmy T and the Teardrops invited me to gig with them this evening in Lockhart, TX, so I did! Jim Talbot (guitar), Johnny Schexnayder (bass), and Gilbert "Big Daddy" Gonzalez (drums) were easy to perform with, and I enjoyed just hanging back and playing some blues. I hope to play again with them in a few weeks! Thanks to Christine Barton-Holmes for the cool photo.

Moonshine & Ale 4/22/17

New Braunfels had all the people in it tonight. The club was packed before Chris Wallis and I never hit a note. We kept them there all night as they requested songs and danced like crazy! Not only did we have the most bachelorettes on stage I've ever had at a show there tonight, but we also had one of the most polite bachelorette parties I've ever experienced. I know that may sound like a strange thing to say, but a lot of times, when the alcohol gets flowing, bachelorette parties tend to get a little crazy, but this one was full of a bunch of cool girls just asked for songs nicely, danced appropriately, and had a good time all evening long! On the opposite end of the spectrum, I had a drunk bachelorette stagger in off the street and walk up on stage while I was playing. I asked her when her big date was and she said, "November 10th....no, wait....May 21st"!  Naturally, I leaned into the mic and told the crowd that the doctors told her she had to move the date up quickly. She then left the stage (laughing).

Gourdough's 4/21/17

Jeff Botta and I reunited tonight in Austin. We hadn't played together in a few years, but the show was solid. He's a great drummer & provides good harmonies to the crazy tunes I perform. We were supposed to start at 8pm, but the club had booked out the room for a private event until 9:30pm, so we began after the room opened to the public, and played straight through until midnight.

Recording session 4/21/17

I went back into the studio with Jimmy Deveney today in Austin, Texas. I knocked out four more keyboard tracks for him for his new project he's working on. He's writing some really cool tunes, and I'm looking forward to hearing the final mix!

Moonshine & Ale 4/14/17

Tonight was Heather's first official night in New Braunfels with me! We had a good crowd, and lots of requests. The people enjoyed watching us swap off between drums and piano. I think I ended up in a bunch of Snapchats. Good job, Heather!

Howl At The Moon 4/10/17

We had a packed house on a rainy Monday night in San Antonio. Tommy, Denise and I performed from 8:30p-1:30a for lots of business folks in from oil companies. Also, there were a few birthdays celebrated, and one guest singer with her own special time signature I tried to follow. Fun, fun!

Donny's Brew Pub 4/8/17

My first time in La Vernia, Texas tonight found me at Donny's Brew Pub for the first time, performing with Luis Balderas also, you guessed it, for the first time. Luis is a solid drummer, and I know he played lots of tunes for the first time tonight, and very successfully. It was the first time I had ever gotten a request for "Wild Wild West" by Escape Club, "Whispering Bells" by the Del-Vikings, and "You Might Think" by the Cars. Lots of firsts!

The Springs 4/7/17

Congratulations to newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. Coker! John and Alyssa had Chris Wallis and I perform for their wedding reception tonight. It was a beautiful outdoor wedding, and then the reception was in a large, open, wooden room with lots of room for dancing. We had a great group of people requesting tunes, and everyone had fun in New Braunfels!

Tantra Coffeehouse 4/4/17

I had a great time with the band tonight in San Marcos. The fellas were rock-solid on the grooves, including ones we haven't played in a couple years. I gave away a bunch of CDs tonight, so if you were one of the lucky people who got one, let me know what you think! I'd love to hear from new fans. Thanks to Christine Barton-Holmes for taking photos tonight!

Rockey's Piano Bar 3/31/17

We had them dancing in Round Rock tonight. Mikey Gammon and I played three hours of requests, spanning everything from Billy Joel to R. Kelly. "Copacabana"? Check. "It Wasn't Me"? Check. "Holiday Road"? Sorta check. We did our best to cover everything. It was a good gig.
