Josh Holmes joined our Live Band Karaoke tonight on bass, and he sounded great! Heather was supposed to be on vacation, but her plans changed, so I was super happy she was able to join me and Pancho. It was rainy most of the evening, so it kept the crowd down, but we still had lots of great singers join us on stage. Heather and I will be back at Moonshine & Ale for a special Wednesday show next week to kick off the Thanksgiving weekend!

Darwin’s Piano Bar 11/16/25
Heather is on vacation this week, so drummer Alex Lugwa joined me tonight to take requests in Austin, TX, on 6th Street. It was slow t the beginning, but we ended up with a good crowd of people from all over the world. We played songs by James Taylor, U2, The Killers, Queen and a bunch of others. Alex was a bunch of fun to work with. We even got a love note in our tip jar. That always makes me feel good.

The McNay Art Museum 11/15/25
Heather and I performed for a private event in San Antonio tonight. It’s always fun to bring our dueling pianos to new groups. They had a great time as we played their requests! Before the show, we were able to look at some of the exhibits in the museum, and they fed us well. Another great gig for the books!

Moonshine & Ale 11/13/25
I’m always grateful for being able to perform for a living. Pancho and Heather are some of my greatest friends, and to share the stage with them feels like I won the lottery. Then on top of that, we’ve built Live Band Karaoke into such a supportive and accepting show where everyone is welcomed and encouraged, and the crowd really understands that vibe. Tonight was really busy because so many people were in town for Wurstfest which happens just a few blocks away. The locals stepped up and showed our out of town guests how to treat each singer, and everyone had a good time. As a bonus, a band from Germany came in (on their night off from performing at the festival) and sang a couple of songs with us, which was fun. I truly thank everyone who makes Live Band Karaoke so special!

Rockin J Piano Bar 11/8/25
We drove into Cedar Park tonight for our show at Rockin J Piano Bar, and when we came around a corner on the highway, the moon was so large and orange, Heather and I both gasped out loud! I tried to snap a pic, but it came out blurry, but it’s easy to see how large it was in the road. Heather took a great clear picture of it when we stopped, but it’s hard to see how big it was. Anyway, our show was attended by a bunch of people we haven’t seen in a bit, like the glowstick brigade, and some of our fans who’ve seen us since our first shows at Rockin J when we brought our keytar and played with drummer Joe Resnick. There were a bunch of birthdays in the house, and a bunch of people out to have a good time. The last hour was non-stop requests coming in, and we did our best to hit as many as we could before we had to end. We played a little over our end time to try to squeeze in a few extra songs because we had so many! A heartfelt thank you to each and every one of the people who come to see our shows. It means the world to us whenever we walk in and see a bunch of smiling familiar faces in the crowd!

Rockin J Piano Bar 11/7/25
Our Cedar Park show at Rockin J Piano Bar was a bunch of fun tonight! We had lots of requests for ‘90s rock tonight, and a bunch of ‘70s dance hits, too. We made several new fans, one of which wanted us to play their wedding, but we were already booked. It was really nice to be asked, as it always is whenever we get to perform for people’s big day. Heather and I will be back tomorrow night to do it all again!

Moonshine & Ale 11/6/25
I played bass tonight for Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels. Heather drummed and Pancho played guitar while Julia Chisholm from Boston was on keys. We had a good time together. It’s always fun playing bass for the show. We had lots of our regulars join us tonight to sing, and everyone sounded great. This weekend, Heather and I will be performing in Cedar Park at Rockin J’s. Come see us!

Darwin’s Piano Bar 11/2/25
We performed on 6th Street in Austin, TX, tonight for our friends at Darwin’s Piano Bar. We’ve performed there many times over the years for CJ, the owner. It was nice to get a chance to talk with him a bit before our show. We made new fans, and played from 7:30p-10:30p. Afterwards, we walked down to visit our friends at Pete’s, and check out one of our favorite shops which is located right next door. It was a fun night!

Moonshine & Ale 11/1/25
It’s November, and we started off the month by playing in New Braunfels at Moonshine & Ale (with drummer Ryan Hall). We had some odd and fun requests tonight. I played everything from Johnny Lee and Elvis to Eminem and Kpop Demon Hunters. Heather was rocking songs by Olivia Newton John, Pitbull, and Cyndi Lauper to name a few. Ryan rocked all the songs tonight, and nearly pulled a muscle playing some Devo with us. You just never know what will be played at one of our shows! Tomorrow night, we perform at 7:30p at Darwin’s in Austin on 6th Street. Come see us!

Moonshine & Ale 10/31/25
I love Halloween! Heather and I decided to go as Gamora and Peter Quill from Guardians Of The Galaxy. We headed down to Moonshine & Ale in New Braunfels where we had a full room of party goers in full costumes. We played 8:30p-11:30, then we MC'd a costume contest where the crowd voted on the best costumes by applause. Our buddy Pancho was playing nearby, so we got to spend some time with him before and after the show, which was cool. The staff all looked fantastic, and I'm so happy to work along with them lots of times throughout each month. Special events like this are always so much fun! Heather and I will be back tomorrow night to take more requests. Thanks to everyone who came out in costume tonight. Happy Halloween!

Moonshine & Ale 10/30/25
Eek! We started off our Halloween weekend in New Braunfels with Live Band Karaoke. It was a crisp fall night with a bright moon, and a bunch of singers joined us all night long. Pancho, Heather and I had a good time with each other, and when I got home, I took a good picture of our giant skeleton with the moon, so I had to get it in the post somehow. Heather and I will be back Friday and Saturday night for piano bar, and we will be dressed up tomorrow night for Halloween. Moonshine & Ale will be holding their annual costume contest, so come to the show in costume to participate! 8:30p-Midnight

Moonshine & Ale 10/25/25
What a show! Heather and I played in New Braunfels, and Saturday nights there, a drummer comes in at 10p. Unfortunately, the drummer tonight fell ill before arriving to the show, so we just split the night and played straight through from 8:30p-1a. It was a long show, but we had a ton of great requests and lots of people singing along with us. I love performing with Heather, and we will be back at Moonshine & Ale all next weekend, including Halloween!

Moonshine & Ale 10/23/25
Pancho, Heather and I played for Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels tonight, as we do every Thursday. The crowd came in a little late, but they kept us busy requesting songs to come sing with us. A bunch of fans from the tennis ranch showed up and brought their energy, as well as several of our regulars. It’s always a good time when I get to play shows with Pancho and Heather!

The Argyle 10/18/25
Elizabeth Arnim & Will Scharnberg were married today, and we performed for their after party! We performed for their guests from 11:45pm-1:45am, and they all danced the whole time we played. It’s always so nice to perform in people’s special days. They were really happy with our show, and we were happy to be there. Thanks to Groove Labs for having us perform, and congratulations to the newlyweds!

Moonshine & Ale 10/17/25
Heather, Christine and I met up to do a little shopping at the outlet mall before Heather and I headed south to New Braunfels tonight. We had a great time as we bought some shoes and had some dinner together. The show tonight went great. We had many unusual requests, and they were all over the place. My first three requests were Smashing Pumpkins, Neil Diamond, and Patrick Swayze, and they just kept on like that through the whole night. We played every song possible, and Heather really sounded great pulling her part of the show to new heights. I’m so happy to have both Christine and Heather in my life. They are so much fun, and I feel so relaxed knowing they are both always there for me!

Moonshine & Ale 10/16/25
Three of our servers at Moonshine & Ale came up to sing with us tonight, which is always fun to share our stage with the staff. They are awesome and take great care of everyone which makes our job easier because the crowd is already happy by the time they come up to sing with us. Josh Holmes joined us on guitar tonight and sounded great. My favorite thing tonight was a man joined us to sing, and told us his son was deployed in Kuwait. The man had text his son to let him know he was at live band karaoke, and his son signed him up to sing from overseas. He also told his dad that he wants his first stop to be at our show when he gets home, and he will be absolutely welcomed by us!

Moonshine Drinkery 10/10/25
Victoria, TX, got our first public Live Band Karaoke show tonight at one of our favorite spots, Moonshine Drinkery. Heather and I have been performing there for years with our piano show, but tonight we got to introduce our buddy Pancho Garza to our friends in Victoria. The show went great, and we had some really good singers. It was nice to have some of our long-time fans join us onstage to sing! After the show, we packed up and made the 2-hour trip home while talking about all the random things life has thrown at all three of us over the years. I love that I get to perform with such great people.

Moonshine & Ale 10/9/25
My nephew, Josh Holmes, filled in for Pancho tonight on guitar for Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels with Heather and me We had good time and had many first timers come sing with us. One of our regulars, our friend Tasha, took some photos for us when she wasn’t on stage singing with us. There were some people in costumes for some reason, and Heather ended up with a mustache. I like my job.
