Darwin’s Pub 3/12/19

SXSW is happening in Austin, Texas, and I performed on 6th Street with Joe Resnick tonight! There were lots of excited people hanging out with us. We had them from all around the world, including Tokyo, Seoul, Brazil, Canada and College Station. I live-streamed the show to the All Request Piano page on Facebook, if you wanna go check it out! 

The Lodge At Cypress Falls 3/11/19

Ian Lee, Curtis Sigurd, Andrae Blissett and I played to a swing dancin’ crowd in Wimberley, TX, tonight from 5p-7p. These are some talented fellas, and I enjoyed the evening with them. Ian’s buddy, Alex, joined us at one point to play a couple tunes on clarinet, which was fun. This was the first night this particular line-up has worked together, and I hope we get to do it again sometime! 

Moonshine Drinkery 3/9/19

I laughed pretty much all night in Victoria, Texas, tonight with Chris Wallis and Heather Ray. Christine Barton-Holmes took a bunch of pictures of us as we took requests from the crowd and made each other laugh. My favorite was when someone asked Heather to play “Shallow” from “A Star Is Born” and I added a keytar-trombone solo. Perfection. 

Moonshine Drinkery 3/8/19

My wife, Christine, came out and took photos at the show in Victoria, TX, tonight, where I took requests with Heather Ray. It was a little slow, but we still mixed it up all night by swapping instruments and making folks sing random tunes. I not only broke out the keytar tonight, but also the acoustic for a tune. I decided to try to give us a beat while I was at it which nearly made my brain explode. I had fun with Heather, and I love the photos Christine took! 

Darwin’s Pub 3/6/19

I subbed in for another player at Darwin’s tonight. SXSW is beginning to rev up, so we had a crowd of people from all over the world requesting songs from us this evening. Mikey Gammon was on drums.

Evangeline Cafe 3/5/19

Happy Mardi Gras 2019! DanHolmesGroup rocked Austin, Texas, on this chilly Fat Tuesday. Chris Wallis on drums, Kevin Humphrey on guitar, and Curtis Sigurd on bass joined me in performing an hour-and-a-half set for the lively crowd. We made a bunch of new fans, and folks were even taking selfies with us! I love hanging out with these fellas, and I’m proud of how solid our show was. Thanks to Curtis and everyone at Evangeline Café for including us again in all the festivities! 

Darwin’s Pub 3/4/19

I took requests in Austin, TX, tonight with my buddy Roger Glenn on drums. It was a fairly slow Monday night, probably due to it’s the week before SXSW and also it’s 30 degrees outside. We still rocked the house and left people asking for our contact info! Plus, I bought a cool “Alien” themed lunchbox before the show, so I got that going for me, too. 

Moonshine & Ale 3/3/19

Wow! The Led Zeppelin tribute show in New Braunfels, TX, was so much fun tonight! Pancho Garza on guitar, Brett Cline on bass (and acoustic guitar), Amy Ratliff on vocals, Cam on drums, and I filled in on keys (plus mandolin and harmonica). Was it loud? Yes. Did the crowd like it? YES. Everyone was so happy to be listening to a talented group of musicians put their heart and soul into covering Zeppelin. I was proud to be able to participate. Kudos to my band mates! 

Moonshine & Ale 3/2/19

We threw down tonight in New Braunfels, TX! Heather, Jay and I entertained a packed house all night. I pulled out the keytar and did a few tunes throughout the night. Heather brought bachelorettes up to celebrate with them on stage, and Jay funked out on the drums. Heather sounded great as she belted out tunes tonight! I had a good time performing with her and Jay. My wife captured a bunch of the evening in photographic form. I will have the memories forever, or at least until my next show. 

Moonshine & Ale 3/1/19

Tonight, I performed with Hailey Stockton in New Braunfels, TX. We took requests all night and swapped between drums and piano. At one point I looked over and there was a professional photographer on stage with us getting shots for a new-and-improved website for Moonshine & Ale! I look forward to seeing what pictures Tammy from TJ’s Photography captured!

Moonshine & Ale 2/28/19

Live Band Karaoke in New Braunfels, TX, happened on the last day of February tonight. Pancho, Andrae and I played a bunch of songs with a rotating cast of singers taking the stage with us. The crowd was hesitant to come sing with us at first, but I think alcohol helped build their confidence. I enjoyed performing with the fellas again!
